Abstract

One strategy to support the improvement of teacher performance is through academic supervision, which functions as a professional guidance process, as well as continuous evaluation of teacher learning practices. This article aims to systematically review the literature related to the impact of academic supervision on teacher performance in various educational contexts. Through the literature review method, this article identifies various aspects of academic supervision, such as frequency, methods, and approaches, which have been shown to influence its effectiveness on teacher performance. Literature findings indicate that effective academic supervision can improve pedagogical competence, managerial skills, and teacher motivation in carrying out tasks. However, this effectiveness is greatly influenced by the quality of supervision, supervisor skills, and adaptation of supervision to the needs of individual teachers. This study is expected to provide in-depth insights for practitioners and policy makers in optimizing academic supervision as an instrument for improving teacher performance in schools.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the influence of principal leadership and motivation on teacher discipline. This study aims to synthesize empirical findings from recent research in Southeast Asia to understand the complex relationships between leadership approaches, strategic motivation, and teacher discipline outcomes. Using the PRISMA protocol, 15 peer-reviewed articles published between 2019-2024 were systematically analyzed from multiple electronic databases. The results show that principal leadership influences teacher discipline through multiple pathways, with transformational and democratic leadership styles showing the strongest positive effects. The study found that psychological empowerment, emotional intelligence, and organizational justice act as crucial mediating factors. The relationship between principal leadership and teacher discipline is strengthened when leaders create an environment that supports innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. The novelty of this study lies in the comprehensive analysis of mediating and moderating factors that influence the effectiveness of principal leadership in building teacher discipline. This study contributes to educational leadership theory and practice by providing evidence-based insights for school leaders to develop more effective strategies in improving teacher discipline through an integrated leadership and motivation approach.

Abstract

This study aims to determine teachers’ perceptions of the results of Computer-Based Minimum Competency Assessment Program (ANBK) at SDN 143 Palembang so that they can determine the school’s readiness to participate in ANBK in 2024. This study uses qualitative descriptive research taken through observation, interviews, and documentation activities. The data sources in this study were grade V teachers and 10 grade V students at SDN 143 Palembang. The findings in this research activity were the lack of students’ abilities in literacy and numeracy aspects. The results of this research activity are about the implementation of the ANBK and how teachers develop a learning framework so that students can improve their literacy and numeracy skills to better prepare themselves for the next ANBK implementation. Research like this has been conducted before by other researchers, but the respondents and implementers were different, and this is the first case study to thoroughly study the use of computer-based ANBK at SDN 143 Palembang. This study is expected to provide specific recommendations for schools to improve the implementation of ANBK. They can also help in making educational policies that are more in line with the needs of students in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the concept of the Merdeka Curriculum and the philosophy of perennialism, particularly in the context of differentiated learning. The research uses a library research method, with data collection techniques involving literature studies from various relevant sources such as journals, articles, and books. The gathered data is analyzed using content analysis to explore the deep connection between these two concepts. The results indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum aligns with the philosophy of perennialism, which emphasizes the importance of education based on universal and fundamental knowledge. This curriculum prioritizes diverse intrcurricular learning, providing sufficient time for students to delve into concepts and strengthen their competencies. The philosophy of perennialism, which focuses on character development, morality, and true knowledge, also supports the implementation of differentiated learning, which accommodates various learning needs of students. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of these two concepts the Merdeka Curriculum and perennialism into a more inclusive learning context that is relevant to current educational challenges. The contribution of this study offers new insights for educators and policymakers in implementing a more effective Merdeka Curriculum, while also enriching the understanding of the importance of perennialist philosophy in creating learning that focuses on the comprehensive development of students' character and competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the KarNuSik game (Kartu Numerasi Asik) in enhancing mathematical understanding and learning motivation among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 58 Palembang. The research method employed is an experimental design using pre-test and post-test. The respondents of this study are 30 students who face difficulties in mathematics learning. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets. The results indicate that the average pre-test score of the students was 65, while the average post-test score increased to 82, with a t-test showing a p-value < 0.05, indicating a significant difference. Furthermore, questionnaire analysis revealed that approximately 85% of the students reported an increase in their learning motivation after participating in the game. These findings suggest that the KarNuSik game not only enhances students’ understanding of mathematical concepts but also motivates them to participate more actively in learning. The social interactions that occur during the game also contribute to the development of students’ communication and collaboration skills. Despite these positive outcomes, some students still encounter difficulties with certain concepts, highlighting the importance of providing additional support from teachers. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more innovative and effective teaching methods in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Effectiveness of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in building student character at SD Negeri 149 Palembang. The main focus of the research is to understand how values such as mutual cooperation, independence, noble character, and global diversity are internalised by students through the implementation of P5 as well as to evaluate the challenges and successes in the implementation of the project. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of Diagnostic Assessments, observations, and in-depth interviews with teachers and students related to P5 activities. The results of the study show that P5 at SD Negeri 149 Palembang has been very effective in building students' character. The value of mutual cooperation and independence showed a high level of internalization, with more than 80% and 85% of students showing good cooperative behavior initiative in independent learning and cooperation. However, the value of global diversity and noble character still requires further efforts to be internalized more deeply, even though there has been progress in 60-65% of students while the value of creative and critical reasoning is at 70%. This study adds empirical insights into how the implementation of P5 in elementary schools concretely contributes to the development of students' character related to the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning method in the context of character education in Indonesia.
