Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the role of science instructors at MTs Negeri 2 Musi Banyuasin in home-based learning activities during the covid-19 epidemic. A qualitative technique is used in this research. The study's data was gathered through interviews with Madrasah science teachers in grades VII, VIII, and IX. The findings of this study show that science instructors at MTs N 2 Musi Banyuasin have fulfilled their job as facilitators in ways that are consistent with the indicators, aside from the element of delivering the module via video conference. Teachers are hampered in their function as facilitators by the following factors: 1) many pupils do not have cellphones; 2) some places have a bad internet connection; and 3) purchasing quotas set by parents.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, this study investigates the performance of teachers at SD Negeri 14 Banyuasin II. This study employed a qualitative method. Interviews, observations, and listings were used to collect data. Teacher performance in preparing lesson plans, teacher performance in implementing learning, teacher performance in assessing learning outcomes, and teacher discipline in learning were summarized as follows. The teacher's performance in learning planning was 92.5 percent, while performance in learning implementation was 70.35 percent, the performance in learning assessment was 91.9 percent, and the work discipline was 79.2 percent, according to the results. Several difficulties can obstruct teacher effectiveness, including the fact that teachers' techniques do not fully complement students' ability to activate their thinking capability and thus participate more actively in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Think Pair Share method to improve English speaking skills in the asking and giving suggestion material for students in class XI IPA 1 in the odd semester of the academic year 2021/2022. This research belongs to the type of classroom action research with reference to the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model with the procedures for planning, implementing, evaluating, and reflecting. This study involved 40 students (31 female students and 9 male students) as research subjects. This classroom action research uses 2 cycles, each cycle consists of 2 meetings. The results of data analysis in the first cycle of the first meeting resulted in an average score of 67.8. The results of data analysis in the first cycle of the second meeting resulted in an average score of 71.3. The results of the data analysis of the first cycle of 2 meetings resulted in an average score of 75.4. The results of data analysis in the second cycle of the second meeting resulted in an average score of 77.5. The results of this study indicate that the use of the think pair share method can improve English speaking skills in asking and giving suggestion materials to Class XI Science 1 Language Odd Semester MAN 1 Muara Enim Academic Year 2021/2022.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy for improving the performance of educators and education personnel through the “SMANSA Berbagi” learning community at SMA Negeri 1 Bengkulu Selatan from the perspective of the philosophy of progressivism. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study obtained were: (1) the strategy to develop educators and education personnel is self-development through the “SMANSA Berbagi” learning community. It was done by sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the learning process. This activity is in line with the principles of the philosophy of progressivism which emphasizes the importance of active, collaborative, and real-experience-oriented learning; (2) The principal always coordinates and collaborates in implementing self-development; (3) performance assessment criteria based on the work result plan (RHK) prepared by each educator and education personnel in PMM; (4) the principal and committee’s strategy to improve the quality of education, by preparing school development plans and participating in monitoring and providing input on the implementation of school programs in order to achieve improvements in the quality of education. This study provides recommendations for schools to continue to support and develop learning communities like this as an effort to improve the quality of education sustainably.

Abstract

The aim of study is to form students with character by becoming individuals who are faithful, responsible, honest, disciplined and have high social awareness. Study was carried out by observing the Islamic boarding school environment which was strengthened by library research. Observations were carried out through student learning activities, both formal and non-formal. The results of this study were an increase and renewal of the character values ​​of students, in the form of actualizing the values ​​of honesty, caring, cooperation and responsibility for the tasks they receive. The advantages of this study are not only providing an example from teachers to students but also implementing a curriculum and learning strategies based on the Qur’an and Hadith. This study contributes to existing learning strategies in institutions by integrating them with the Al-Qur’an and Hadith.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) as an effort to strengthen student character including design; management; assessment processing and reporting of results; evaluation and follow-up. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method at State Elementary School 27, Palembang City in 2024. Data collection methods include interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using interactive methods including data collection, data synthesis, data presentation, and conclusions/validation. The results of the study indicate that 1) the P5 design consists of forming a team, identifying school readiness, determining the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile character to be strengthened, determining the theme, planning the time, flow, assessment, and creating modules; 2) P5 management includes provocation and contextualization, P5 actions, and celebration of learning outcomes; 3) assessment processing and reporting of P5 results include collecting, processing assessment results, and compiling project report cards; 4) P5 evaluation and monitoring in the form of character strengthening and continuing good habits with the Let's Act program. Through the P5 action, the character dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile can be strengthened in students, especially those who believe in, are devoted to God Almighty and have noble morals, work together, are independent, have global diversity, and think critically and creatively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of principal’s supervision on the performance of teachers in SMA Negeri 1 Banyuasin II. The method used in this study is a quantitative which contains two variables, principal’s supervision (X1) and teacher’s performance (Y). Data were obtained through a questionnaire distributed to teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Banyuasin II and analyzed using simple linear regression statistical techniques. The results showed that supervision carried out by the school’s principal has a significant influence on teacher’s performance. Effective supervision, including aspects of monitoring, evaluation and guidance, has been proven to be able to improve the quality of teaching and teacher’s professionalism. These findings indicate that the active role of school’s principals in carrying out supervision is very important to support improvements in teacher’s performance and, ultimately, the quality of education in the school. This study recommends that school’s principals intensify constructive and sustainable supervision activities to create an optimal learning environment.

Abstract

The low critical thinking skills of students found by us when conducting observations at SMP Negeri 10 Palembang have an impact on the learning process of students becoming passive and have an impact on the grades produced by students as seen from the lack of answering when given questions and then learning outcomes that still do not meet the criteria for teaching completion. This study used the Classroom Action Research method which was applied to class VII-10 of SMP Negeri 10 Palembang with a total of 36 students. The implementation of this study includes 3 cycles in it which include planning, acting, and observing. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and pretest posttests which were carried out in each cycle. Based on the results obtained in this study, it was found that there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills using the probing prompting learning model which was proven by an increase in each learning cycle carried out.

Abstract

Students’ critical thinking skills are still relatively low at SDN 34 Palembang, marked by the low results of the pretest held in this research activity. This indicates that it is necessary to make learning innovations that can encourage students’ critical thinking skills, one of which is project-based learning. This research activity was conducted at SDN 34 Palembang in class VI with science subjects with a total of 30 students. This research activity was carried out to add insight into interactive learning used for students’ critical thinking skills, one of which is project-based learning. Based on the research that has been conducted on the application of project-based learning, it is obtained that students, after receiving this learning, can improve students’ critical thinking skills, marked by higher student posttest results than pretest results, with 86% of students achieving essential skills of thinking indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to explore teachers’ perceptions of literacy develpoment at state elementary School 124 Palembang in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative approach through the case study method, data were  obtained through in depth interviews and observations of ten teachers who were directly involved in teaching literacy. The result of this study show that the majority of teachers have a positive perception of the flexibility  offered by Merdeka curriculum in developing literacy. Limited despite being faced with a number of challenges such as lack of resources and limited training. This study provides important insight regarding the factors that influences the successful implementation of the independent curriculum in developing literacy in elemtary school. The novelty of this research lies in understanding how teachers perceptions of literacy developmentcan be integrated into the independent curriculum at the elemetary school level. The contribution of this study is to provided insight for policy makers and school regarding the important of greater support, both in term of resources and training, to strengthen literacy implementation in this flexible curriculum.
