Abstract

Children with special needs (ABK) face many challenges in accessing equal and quality education. To support their needs, adaptive and inclusive educational changes are needed based on understanding diversity of abilities. The importance of inclusive education as a form of change, including a flexible curriculum, the use of learning support technology, and the role of competent teachers in dealing with students and children with special needs. This research analyzes the development of a comprehensive learning model and its impact on the academic and social emotional development of ABK. We use a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with teachers and parents, as well as direct observation of the learning process. In this study, transformation of ABK education requires three elements: development of an adaptive curriculum, increasing teacher capacity in special education, and strengthening collaboration between schools and families. These results highlight the importance of a holistic approach in transforming ABK education, apart from focusing on academic aspects but also paying attention to social and emotional aspects. This study provides practical recommendations for developing inclusive education policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which the principal's transformational leadership influences teachers’ performance at SD Negeri 62 Palembang. This study employs a quantitative approach with an ex post facto research design. The research population consists of all teachers at SD Negeri 62 Palembang, while the sample is selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The independent variable in this study is the principal’s transformational leadership, measured based on dimensions such as inspiration and motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. Meanwhile, the dependent variable is teacher performance, which includes aspects of professionalism, creativity, and job satisfaction. Data analysis was conducted using a simple regression test to examine the direct influence between the independent and dependent variables. The research findings indicate a significant influence of the principal's transformational leadership on teacher performance. The dimensions of inspiration and motivation, as well as intellectual stimulation, contributed the most to improving teacher performance. This indicates that a principal who can inspire the school's vision, motivate teachers to achieve common goals, and encourage the continuous development of teacher competencies will positively impact teacher performance. These findings align with previous studies that highlight the importance of transformational leadership in improving organizational performance. Effective transformational leadership can create a positive school climate, encourage teachers to continuously learn and grow, and enhance their sense of belonging and commitment to the school.

SLR enables the identification and synthesis of relevant research, providing a comprehensive overview of the development of critique in the philosophy of science. The research shows that critique serves as an evaluative mechanism that encourages innovation and adaptation of science to new realities. The article also identifies gaps in existing research and recommends new directions for future studies, hoping to strengthen understanding of the role of critique in science as well as its application in student character education. As such, the results of this study are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of educational theory and practice.

Abstract

Multicultural education has become an important approach in promoting social inclusion, tolerance, and respect for diverse cultures, religions, and values. Data were collected from various reputable academic databases, such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, with inclusion criteria covering publications in highly reputable journals from 2020 to 2024. The results show that the philosophical approach is able to build a strong theoretical basis in understanding the meaning of diversity, the ideological approach plays a role in shaping inclusive education policies, while the religious approach shows effectiveness in promoting the values of tolerance and spirituality in learning. However, some key challenges were found, including potential cultural bias, lack of teacher training and resistance to faith-based approaches in secular areas. The study also identified research gaps in integrating the three approaches holistically, particularly in the context of education in developing countries and conflict areas. The findings offer recommendations for future research, such as further exploration of the intersections of culture, gender and religion in the context of multicultural education. As such, this SLR provides a solid foundation for the development of innovative and global values-based multicultural education practices.

Abstract

Epistemology, as a branch of philosophy that studies the theory of knowledge, continues to develop in various perspectives, especially in contemporary philosophy. This article examines the view of epistemology of science in the context of contemporary philosophy, by highlighting the paradigm shift from classical theory of knowledge towards a more dynamic and open understanding. The main focus of this research is to identify and analyze key concepts in contemporary epistemology, such as constructivism, pragmatism, post-structuralism, and social knowledge theory. By examining the contributions of key figures such as Michel Foucault, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and Thomas Kuhn, this article reveals how the development of science is influenced by social, cultural, and historical contexts, and how knowledge is constructed, questioned, and acquired. Through this systematic review, this article aims to provide a deeper understanding of the epistemological dynamics that occur in the contemporary era, as well as the implications for the development of science and the scientific method today. This research uses the SRL (systematic literature review) method. This research method uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) study. The references for this writing come from journals from 2020 to 2023. The 15 journals reviewed are national journals and come from Google Scholar.
