Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of principal supervision in creating an innovative learning environment in schools. Effective supervision serves not only as a monitoring tool but also as a means of fostering and developing teacher professionalism. Principals play a strategic role in fostering a culture of innovation through a participatory, collaborative, and sustainable supervisory approach. This study employed a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results indicate that structured supervision oriented toward improving the quality of learning can encourage teachers to develop creative and relevant learning methods that meet students’ needs. Furthermore, principal support in the form of training, provision of facilities, and the creation of a positive work climate are key supporting factors in building an innovative learning environment. Thus, principal supervision plays a vital role in creating a school culture that is progressive and adaptive to change.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of authoritarian leadership style in the Indonesian Education Foundation (YPI) on the performance of teachers, staff, and students through a systematic literature review approach. Authoritarian leadership, often characterized by centralized decision-making and a lack of team participation, can affect dynamics within the educational environment. From the analysis of existing literature, it was found that authoritarian leadership style has diverse impacts on the performance of teachers, staff, and students. On one hand, authoritarian leadership can expedite decision-making and create a clear structure, but on the other hand, this style may reduce motivation and job satisfaction among teachers and staff, while also hindering creativity and student participation in the learning process. Furthermore, the study shows that the relationship between authoritarian leadership style and individual performance in education is highly influenced by the cultural and organizational context. Based on these findings, it is essential for educational institutions to consider adopting a more democratic and participatory leadership style to support the performance and well-being of all involved parties. This study provides valuable insights for the development of a more effective leadership model in the field of education.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology in the digital era demands fundamental transformations in the management of educational institutions. In this context, principals have a strategic role as leaders who must be able to respond adaptively to the dynamics of change. This study aims to identify and analyze adaptive leadership models through a systematic review of various strategies implemented by principals in facing challenges and opportunities in the digital era. This study examines a variety of empirical and conceptual literature published in the last five years to synthesize best practices in adaptive leadership relevant to technological developments, shifting pedagogical paradigms, and the dynamics of modern school management. The review results indicate that effective adaptive leadership strategies focus on pedagogical technology integration, continuous human resource capacity development, flexibility in change management, and the creation of an innovative and collaborative school culture. These findings are expected to serve as a strategic reference for principals in designing policies and concrete steps to navigate the complexities of educational change in the digital era.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of school principal leadership and teacher collaboration on teacher performance in kindergartens. In the educational context, school principal leadership plays a crucial role in fostering an environment that supports teachers’ professional development, while collaboration among teachers is expected to enhance teaching effectiveness and performance. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to identify, evaluate, and synthesize findings from relevant studies published over the past two decades. A total of 20 studies were reviewed to provide a comprehensive overview of the relationships among the investigated variables. The analysis reveals that transformational, democratic, and supportive leadership styles of principals positively influence teacher performance. Furthermore, teacher collaboration, including regular meetings, group discussions, and joint training, significantly contributes to the development of teachers’ skills and motivation. This study suggests that principals should adopt collaborative leadership styles and facilitate opportunities for effective teacher collaboration. Intensive collaboration among teachers can accelerate knowledge exchange and best practice sharing, ultimately improving teaching quality in kindergartens. Further research is encouraged to explore additional factors that influence teacher performance in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

This study aims to identify innovative educational supervision strategies that are effective in improving educational leadership, particularly the competencies of teachers and principals. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing 15 national articles published between 2017 and 2025. Data were collected through a systematic search of academic databases, then analyzed thematically to identify patterns and key findings. The results indicate that collaborative supervision and technology-based supervision approaches are the most effective strategies in improving teachers’ pedagogical and professional competencies. Collaborative supervision encourages active teacher participation, while technology-based supervision expands access and efficiency of the supervision process. This study provides an up-to-date systematic review of innovative supervision strategies in the national education context, with a focus on technology integration and collaborative approaches that have not been explored in depth in previous research. The findings recommend the need for digital literacy training for principals to support technology-based supervision, as well as coaching programs to strengthen collaborative supervision skills. Educational institutions are also advised to adopt policies that support the implementation of these strategies. This research contributes to the development of a more adaptive and effective educational supervision model, as well as being a reference for policy makers and educational practitioners in designing school leadership improvement programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of principal supervision in improving teacher performance and learning quality, and to identify the most effective supervision approaches based on a review of the current literature. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing 15 scientific articles indexed in Google Scholar published between 2021 and 2024. The selection process was carried out based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, then the data was analyzed thematically to identify patterns and key findings. The results showed that a collaborative and constructive feedback-based supervision approach significantly improved teachers' pedagogical and professional competence. Collaborative supervision encouraged teachers' active participation in self-development, while constructive feedback helped improve teaching practices continuously. This study provides an up-to-date synthesis of principal supervision models with a focus on collaborative approaches and constructive feedback, which have not been comprehensively discussed in the context of teacher performance improvement. These findings recommend the need to strengthen school policies that support the implementation of collaborative and feedback-based supervision. In addition, specific training for principals in implementing academic supervision needs to be optimized to ensure the effectiveness of the supervision process. This research contributes to the development of a more effective and sustainable academic supervision model, and serves as a reference for policy makers, school principals, and educational researchers in efforts to improve the quality of learning in schools.
