Abstract

Problems often faced by educational institutions recently are often found among students. Several cases that occurred at educational institutions in Bima were specifically related to acts of violence against children/students, either occurring among students or carried out by teaching staff. Cases of beatings experienced by educators are one of the most frequent cases in educational institutions at junior high to high school levels. This situation is a scourge in the teaching and learning process in educational institutions. So special attention is needed in handling this situation by providing character education from an early age so that students with character and morals can be formed. This research aims to determine the process of implementing moral education and transcendental idealism for students at MIN 5 Bima and SD IT Uswatun Hasanah. The method used is qualitative with a multicase study approach. Primary data sources in this research were obtained from two educational institutions, MIN 5 Bima and SD IT Uswatun Hasanah. The results of the research show that there are differences in the implementation of instilling moral values in elementary schools, especially at MIN 5 and SD IT Uswatun Hasanah. These differences show that MIN 5 implements three main activities in instilling moral values in students, namely the Thousand Days Movement. /Infaq for Charity, Tahfid (Memorization of Juz 30), and Health (Environmental Cleanliness) while the results of the activities of instilling moral values at SD IT show that through the program to save adab and ethical values as the formation of student character and morality with a values-based approach Islamic values. These efforts involve all elements in creating a learning environment that supports the positive character and spiritual development of students in the future.

Abstract

Although a growing body of research has assessed students’ oral presentations in higher education, a comprehensive and unified exploration of their benefits, challenges, and strategies remains limited. This review aims to fill this knowledge gap by integrating and analyzing these aspects into a cohesive framework. Using a literature review approach, document analysis, and specific inclusion criteria, 104 articles were gathered from reliable sources and published between 2020 and 2025. By utilizing secondary data, the review reveals that oral presentation provides relevant benefits for students, such as developing speaking skills, improving critical thinking, enhancing communication skills, and increasing academic engagement. However, several challenges go beyond these benefits, including students’ anxiety, levels of students’ knowledge, lack of adequate preparation, and body language issues, which can hinder students’ oral presentation performance. Therefore, this review highlights effective strategies across different contexts and organizations, such as reading engagement, script preparation, sufficient preparation, peer assessment, self-assessment, building self-confidence, and fostering self-motivation, all of which are essential for addressing challenges in higher education. Overall, this review suggests that future research should rigorously examine students’ oral presentations in higher education across various settings and institutions.

Abstract

The natural environment is closely interconnected with human life, making environmental awareness and responsibility essential to ensure sustainability. One of the current challenges in education is the decline of students’ environmental awareness as a result of moral degradation, particularly reflected in the habit of littering. This study aims to describe the implementation of routine waste disposal activities through habituation of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) as an effort to develop environmental care character among students at SDN 2 Pemangkih Seberang. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through direct observation, documentation, and interviews with the school principal. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to portray the process and outcomes of the habituation activities. The results indicate that routine gotong royong activities carried out three times a week effectively foster positive habits among students, including discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and environmental awareness. Furthermore, this habituation process successfully internalizes character values integrated into Civic Education learning, particularly within the gotong royong material. Therefore, routine waste disposal activities through gotong royong habituation can serve as an effective strategy for instilling environmental care character and shaping students with noble character and responsibility toward their surrounding environment.

Abstract

Numeracy skills are essential competencies that every student must possess. However, results from international assessments such as PISA indicate that Indonesian students' numeracy literacy remains relatively low, necessitating more effective instructional strategies. This study aims to identify and analyze various strategies employed by teachers to enhance elementary students’ numeracy literacy through a literature review approach. The method used is a content analysis-based literature review focusing on publications from the last ten years. The literature search was conducted systematically using several reputable academic databases, including Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar. Keywords used in the search included: teacher strategies, numeracy literacy, elementary mathematics education, numeracy pedagogy, elementary education, and teacher practice in numeracy. The findings indicate that strategies such as blended learning, Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), problem-based learning (PBL), differentiated instruction, and game-based learning consistently have a positive impact on improving students’ numeracy literacy. These strategies support learning processes that are more adaptive, contextual, and engaging, while effectively fostering students’ critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
