Abstract

This research aims to develop a tripartite collaboration model of education involving family, school, and community in reinforcing Islamic character among students. Utilizing a qualitative approach and case studies on two Madrasah Aliyah in Bekasi Regency, five synergy models with varying effectiveness were identified, with the integrative-systematic model proving to be the most effective. The analysis results indicate that three-way communication, program connectivity, and value consistency are key to the success of Islamic character education. Local cultural factors and the utilization of digital technology also influence the implementation of this model. These findings recommend the importance of structured and sustainable collaboration to create a generation that is characterized, virtue and ready to face the challenges of the times.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of teaching media and teachers' teaching experience in order to enhance students' motivation to learn in schools. This study employs a quantitative method to investigate the extent of the impact that teaching media and teachers' teaching experience have on students' motivation. A sample of 69 teachers was used, and data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive and inferential analysis. The study findings indicate that learning media have a positive and significant effect on increasing students' learning motivation, as do teachers' teaching experiences, which also have a positive and significant impact on students' learning motivation. Therefore, it can be stated that in the effort to enhance students' learning motivation in schools, the use of effective and efficient learning media, along with the presence of highly experienced teachers, can be instrumental.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of literacy culture at SMPN 2 Indramayu using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the literacy program is carried out through various activities, such as reading sessions that foster critical thinking skills and enhance students’ confidence in expressing their ideas in public. However, several challenges remain, including the absence of reading corners in all classrooms and limited access to diverse reading materials. Despite these obstacles, the presence of a reading corner in the library and the active participation of students in literacy activities demonstrate the potential and effectiveness of the program. Student engagement in activities that develop critical thinking and public speaking skills serves as a positive indicator. To optimize literacy outcomes, this study recommends strengthening collaboration between teachers and students, as well as improving literacy resources and facilities in the school. With these steps, it is expected that the literacy culture at SMPN 2 Indramayu will continue to grow and positively impact students’ overall literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method in improving the ability to write explanatory texts among Grade IX D students at SMP Negeri 2 Indramayu. The research focuses on the influence and impact of the PjBL learning method in the teaching and learning process. The Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method was implemented through several stages: planning, topic selection, project design, implementation, presentation of results, and evaluation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, documentation, and analysis of students' project outcomes. The results indicate that the implementation of PjBL successfully increased students' active participation, creativity, and critical thinking skills. The final products, in the form of explanatory texts and educational videos, showed improvements in the quality of students' writing and their understanding of the structure and linguistic features of explanatory texts. The students’ final scores mostly fell into the “good” category, with an average success rate of 75%. Therefore, the PjBL model is proven to be effective in developing 21st-century literacy skills, which include critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) with Canva in Indonesian language learning at the senior high school level. Using a qualitative case study at SMA Negeri 2 Indramayu, data were gathered through observations, interviews, and student work analysis. The results show that most students (83%) effectively used Canva to create culturally themed concept maps and texts, demonstrating increased engagement, creativity, and cultural understanding. The study concludes that combining CRT with digital media enhances meaningful learning by connecting students’ cultural identities with academic content. This approach offers a relevant model for inclusive and contextualized language instruction in Indonesian schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Qur’an recitation habituation (tadarus Al-Qur’an) in class IV-A of MI Islamiyah Banjarmlati in shaping the Pancasila Student Profile. The background of this research is based on the importance of character formation through religious activities integrated with Pancasila values. The habituation of Qur’an recitation is considered an effective means of instilling the values of piety, cooperation, discipline, and responsibility among students. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the class IV-A teacher, students, and the head of the madrasah. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the Qur’an recitation habituation is carried out routinely every morning before lessons begin. Teachers serve as guides and motivators, while students demonstrate enthusiasm and active participation. This activity not only improves students’ Qur’an reading skills but also fosters religious attitudes, discipline, and a sense of responsibility. These values are in line with the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. Thus, the habituation of Qur’an recitation contributes significantly to the holistic character formation of students within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the singing method in helping third-grade elementary students memorize mufrodat (Arabic vocabulary). The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on an in-depth understanding of the learning process and students’ responses. The study was conducted at SDI Amanah Ummah Surakarta in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of the singing method, combined with children’s song rhythms, increased students’ enthusiasm and memorization ability of mufrodat. As many as 80% (27 students) were able to fluently recite all the vocabulary taught in a single session, while 13.33% still required repetition, and the remaining 6.67% encountered significant difficulties. In conclusion, the singing method is effective in Arabic language learning for improving elementary students’ vocabulary memorization, although adjustments are still needed to match students’ time management and individual characteristics. This research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of creative learning strategies at the elementary level.

Abstract

Speaking skills, also known as maharah al-kalam, are among the most emphasized skills in language learning. In this skill, students are required to actively communicate in Arabic, both with their peers and with the teacher. One of the methods used in this learning process is the mubasyarah method, which is an Arabic teaching approach through direct communication using the target language. However, in practice, many challenges or problems are often encountered. This study aims to analyze the problems that arise in the implementation of the mubasyarah method in teaching maharah al-kalam to takhoshus class students at MA Al Firdaus Wangen Klaten. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The findings revealed several problems, including students’ limited vocabulary, lack of confidence in speaking, insufficient learning media, ineffective time management, and the dominance of the mother tongue in the classroom. The study concludes that the effectiveness of the mubasyarah method in improving maharah al-kalam is often hindered by these challenges. Addressing them requires supportive strategies such as more intensive vocabulary habituation, encouraging students to practice speaking Arabic in various contexts, maximizing the use of learning media, and providing regular motivation. It is therefore expected that the mubasyarah method can become a truly effective approach to enhancing students’ speaking skills in Arabic.

Abstract

Some students experienced difficulties in understanding the material delivered. This was due to the teaching method used by the Arabic language teacher at SMPIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta, which relied on lectures and memorization. This learning strategy was applied continuously in every Arabic language lesson, resulting in boredom and low student motivation. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) using the Kurt Lewin model. The research subjects were 35 eighth-grade students (class VIII A) of SMPIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta. The study consisted of two cycles, and each cycle included four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques involved observation, documentation, tests, and interviews. The findings of this study show that the use of the role-playing method can improve the mastery of Arabic vocabulary (mufrodat) among class VIII A students at SMPIT Nur Hidayah. This is evidenced by an increase in vocabulary mastery, with the class average score rising from 74.8 in cycle I to 83.4 in cycle II. This indicates that students experienced an improvement of 8.6%. The improvement occurred after the researcher implemented several stages of action, namely: (1) the teacher explained the implementation technique and assigned students to play roles, (2) the teacher divided students into small groups consisting of four members, (3) each student acted out their assigned role referring to the material a‘dhā’ul jism, and (4) each group performed alternately. The advantages of this method include students showing greater enthusiasm for learning because they were directly involved in role-playing activities. They not only memorized vocabulary but also practiced it in real conversational contexts. However, the weaknesses include students’ limited vocabulary mastery; many still mispronounced words or could only use simple vocabulary. Teachers also faced challenges in maintaining a conducive classroom environment, as some students considered the activity merely a game

Abstract

This article discusses the role of parental communication in improving children's language skills at Segeran Kindergarten. This research was conducted at Segeran Kindergarten in Indramayu. This research was motivated by the underdevelopment of children's intelligence at the beginning of the semester, caused by parents' inadequate motivation to engage their children in communication, thus developing language skills that can provide them with the necessary skills to continue their learning in elementary school. This study aims to describe the role of parental communication in improving children's language development. This study is a descriptive qualitative study with a field research approach. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used four stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that (1) the role of parents in fostering communication skills in early childhood (3-6 years old) encompasses three aspects: openness, the ability to openly and express thoughts and feelings to others; empathy in good communication between parents and children; and maintaining and preserving family relationships. (2) Fostering communication skills in early childhood by parents can improve their language intelligence, which includes listening, writing, reading, and speaking.
