Abstract

Digital marketing has become increasingly important and needed in the New Normal, especially for small industries such as Amor Ethnic. Amor Ethnic is a self-help group/community with disabilities with businesses in the form of hands and feet crafts using macrame materials. This micro-enterprise was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, so there were no sales for four months. Therefore, expansion of market reach must be done immediately. Amor Ethnic has used Instagram for marketing, but it did not use Instagram marketing optimally. The purpose of this community service was to improve the knowledge and skills of the Amor Ethnic community in using Instagram for marketing and to increase their business turnover. Marketing 3.0, selecting a caption that reflects FAITH (Feel Assurance in The Heart), was chosen as the uniqueness of Amor Ethnic's marketing approach. Training and mentoring methods were conducted through the WhatsApp and Google Meet applications. The topics were product photography, photo editing, ads and feed design, preparation of Instagram feeds, use of Instagram Ads, analysis of Instagram Ads insight data, and preparation of content strategies to maximise the use of Instagram. Evaluation was using pretest and posttest. The results showed there were improved skills in implementing digital marketing using Instagram. The improvement was seen in improved quality of product photos, Instagram design, followers, profile visits, reach of Instagram accounts, and increased customer orders and turnover.

Abstract

Sukoharjo Regency is known as the City of Herbal Medicine in Indonesia, since some of its residents work as sellers of traditional herbal medicine for generations in big cities. During the Covid-19 pandemic they had to return home, because of large scale social restriction that prohibits interaction between residents. While the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak demands a strong self-immunity, various types of traditional medicinal plants have increased in price, such as ginger from IDR 30,000/kg to IDR 50,000/kg, kencur previously from IDR 35,000/kg to IDR 42,000/kg, temulawak from IDR 4,000/kg to IDR 12,000/kg. The increasing need for medicinal plants has attracted the students of State Junior High School 3 Tawangsari to control the way to market these immune-enhancing medicinal plants and instant herbs digitally (online). The online herbal medicine marketing training is carried out in stages consisting of 1) pre-test related to students' understanding of herbal medicine and online marketing media, 2) digital marketing-based herbal marketing training, and post-test to measure the impact of implementing a successful service program. The training results showed an increase in students' understanding regarding the marketing of herbal medicine online as evidenced by the higher post-test scores than the pre-test. This training has given students a new understanding of the intricacies of digital herbal marketing that can support the Sukoharjo program as the City of Herbal Medicine in Indonesia.

Abstract

Waste is stuff that is useless, underused, or abandoned as a byproduct of a process. The amount of organic household waste produces new environmental concerns, thus there must be a method to reduce it, one of which is converting it into liquid organic fertilizer. Organic waste can be utilized as a raw material to make organic fertilizers (liquid fertilizer and compost), which farmers can use. A moist organic matter or organic material with high water content, such as fruit or vegetable residue, is an excellent source material for liquid fertilizer made from organic waste. The goal of this community service is to teach people how to make liquid organic fertilizer out of household garbage, to conduct NPK tests for liquid organic fertilizer (POC), and to offer training and packaging support for POC products women's farming group (KWT) Berkah Tani 2. As a result of this community service project, the KWT Berkah Tani 2 has gained experience in producing liquid organic fertilizer, which will aid in reducing organic waste in the Colomadu region attempting to sell POC items derived from organic garbage.
