Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility level of the STEM-Based LKPD to improve students' creative thinking skills on the human circulatory system material, to find out the students' responses to the STEM-Based LKPD to improve students' creative thinking skills on the human circulatory system material, and to know the effectiveness of STEM-based LKPD to improve students' creative thinking skills on the human circulatory system material. This type of research is development research (R&D) with the 4D model. Product trials include large group trials consisting of 30 students. The instruments used in this research were a validation sheet by material, learning and design experts, as well as a test in the form of a description of 10 questions to measure creative thinking skills on the material of the human circulatory system. The results of this study indicate that the developed worksheets are very feasible to use to improve students' creative thinking skills based on the assessments of material experts, learning experts, and design experts with consecutive average scores: 94.5%, 91.5% and 97.5% with very decent criteria. The developed LKPD also received a decent response from students with the results obtained in large groups of 87% and was effective in improving students' creative thinking skilla, with average result pretest is 29.92 and an average posttest result is 85.92 with an average N-Gain of 0.80 with a high interpretation.

Abstract

         This study focuses on the morphometric relationship of cultured blood cockles (Anadara granosa) and compares it with the morphometrics of cockles from natural habitats. Sampling was carried out at three stations in 2 different habitats, with a total of 90 individuals taken. The method used was a survey study with the research objects being blood cockles, substrate, and salinity. The variables observed in this study were the morphometrics of shell length, shell width, shell height, shell thickness, total weight, shell weight, and meat weight in ponds and natural habitats. The results of this study indicate that blood cockles that live in the wild have a higher size than those in ponds. Environmental conditions in ponds and natural habitats are still within normal limits of 24-30‰. The composition of the cultivated pond substrate is muddy (51%), while the natural habitat is sandy (51%).

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is a change in the composition of Gastropod species, whether there is a biodiversity index for Gastropod species and whether there is an abundance between natural micro-habitats, populated areas and ports. To obtain samples, the method used in this research was line and quadratic transects. The results of the research showed that the types of Gastropods obtained consisted of 4 orders. The total number of species is 17 with a total of 226 individuals. Gastropod diversity is classified as moderate. Shannon (H') = 2.225301. The highest abundance is at Bogak Indah Beach with a value of 117.3 ind/m2 and the lowest is in the port area of ​​Teluk Mengkudu District at 81.4 ind/m2. Gastropod uniformity is included in the uniform category with a uniformity index of 0.910. Gastropod dominance has a value of 0.144, which indicates that there are no species that dominate other species or that the community structure is in a stable state.

Abstract

Export-qualified Anadara granosa require microplastic-free criteria. The aim of this study was to determine the type, abundance, and colour of microplastics present in blood cockle meat. Sampling was conducted at three mussel farming stations in Young Pana Hijau, Marelan, Medan, with 30 samples each. Microplastic extraction was carried out by taking the clam's digestive tract, weighing it into a microtube and adding 10% KOH solution as much as 3:1 with the weight of the tissue, closed and allowed to stand for 24 hours at 40°C, 24 hours after in the centrifuge for 2 minutes at 500 rpm to precipitate all particles dissolved in the liquid. The solution on top was discarded and the solids on the bottom were taken for examination under a microscope. The results showed that microplastics were found in the digestive tract of mussels of fragment (75%), fibre (15%) and film (10%) types. The most dominant colours of microplastics were black (73%), red (12%), yellow (6%), brown (5%) and blue (4%). The presence of microplastics in cultured mussels indicates that the cultivation site needs to be reviewed to obtain a more hygienic quality of mussel meat.

Abstract

This study aims to document the use of plants used in making param (kuning) as a traditional medicine of the Karo Tribe in Bunuraya Village so that the knowledge of the community is not lost with the progress of the times. The location of the research was carried out in Bunuraya Village, Tigapanah District, Karo Regency. The methods used in this study are qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods, using semi-structured interview methods and participatory observation. Research result show that the number of plants used as raw material for param (kuning) is 22 species covering 13 families. The most widely used percentage of plant families is the Zingiberaceae family with a percentage of 22.72%. The most widely used organ is the rhizome organ with a percentage of 22.72%. The most widely used plant habitus is herbs with a percentage of 63.63%. The origin of the most plants obtained is cultivation with a percentage of 54.54%. The Karo Tribe people believe that the use of plants in making param (kuning) as a traditional medicine can treat various diseases, improve health and maintain health. The important cultural value in this study is divided into 4 categories, namely very high, high, medium and low. Very high values consist of 5 species with a value of 100, high values consist of 11 species with a value (66-99), medium values consist of 5 species with a value (24-40) and low values consist of 1 species with a value of 12. The use value of param (kuning) as the highest traditional medicine consists of 16 benefits with a value of 0.72.

Abstract

The Painted terrapin (Batagur borneoensis) Conservation Center at the Karang Gading and East Langkat Wildlife Reserve serves as an ex-situ breeding site for the Painted terrapin (Batagur borneoensis). This study aims to obtain morphometric data from the morphology of the Painted terrapin (Batagur borneoensis)and to identify the parameters that contribute the most to the body weight of Painted terrapin (Batagur borneoensis) living in the Painted terrapin (Batagur borneoensis) breeding pond at SMKGLTL, Selotong Village, Secanggang District, Langkat Regency. This study uses a saturated sampling method. The measured morphometric traits include the length and width of the carapace, the length and width of the plastron, the neck length, the length and width of the head, the length and width of the front legs, the length and width of the hind legs, the length and width of the front and rear footpads, as well as the length of the tail and weight. The results indicate significant differences in body weight between different age periods. The average weight of the painted terrapin at the age of 2 years is 445g ± 112.8 (x̅±SD), while at the age of 3 years it increases to 777.5g ± 557.0 (x̅±SD). Statistical analysis shows that the parameters contributing most to the body weight of the painted terrapin (Batagur borneoensis) are carapace length (X1) with a coefficient of determination of 128.022, hind limb width (X11) with a coefficient of determination of 92.906, and hind limb length (X10) with a coefficient of determination of 58.599.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze critical thinking abilities and determine the faktors that influence students' critical thinking abilities in class VIII digestive system material at SMP Negeri 41 Medan for the 2023/2024 academic year. This type of research is descriptive with mixed methods. The population in the study consisted of 8 classes and the sample consisted of 2 classes, namely classes VIII-2 and VIII-4, totaling 55 people. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Research data was collected using an essay test instrument consisting of 12 questions, an interview instrument consisting of 7 questions, and a learning tool observation sheet. The research results show that students' critical thinking abilities can be categorized as low with an average percentage score of 44.18. Faktors that influence students' critical thinking abilities are situational and dispositional faktors. The most influential situational faktor is involvement, while the most influential dispositional faktor is learning methods.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the content of chemical preservatives such as formalin and borax, as well as detecting bacterial contamination of Salmonella sp. on salted mackerel fish sold at Galang Market. Formalin is detected using Potassium Permanganate (KMnO4) reagent, while borax is tested using H2SO4 reagent. To detect Salmonella sp. contamination, the test method is carried out using selective Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA) media. The results of the research showed that the salted mackerel fish sold at Galang Market contained negative borax, this was indicated by the absence of changes in flame color that occurred on the porcelain cup during testing. The formalin content test of the three salted mackerel fish showed positive results for formalin content, this was indicated by a change in color to clear in the test tube. The results of the formalin level test in the first salted mackerel fish had a level of 1.61 mg/g, the second salted mackerel fish had a level of 1.55 mg/kg and the third salted fish had a formalin level of 1.65 mg/kg, already exceeding the acceptable tolerance threshold. accepted by the adult body. Salmonella sp. bacterial contamination test. The three salted mackerel fish tested produced negative results, indicating that the salted mackerel fish at Galang Market were free from Salmonella sp contamination.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar harus beradaptasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan keterampilan abad ke-21, misalnya komunikasi, kerja sama tim, kreativitas, dan berpikir kritis (4C). Tujuan dari tinjauan literatur ini adalah untuk menganalisis penerapan keterampilan abad ke-21 dalam pendidikan IPA melalui berbagai pendekatan, termasuk teknologi augmented reality (AR), media digital, dan model pembelajaran kreatif. Meteologi peelitianini ialah tinjauan literatur dengan menelaah studi sebelumnya terkait integrasi keterampilan abad ke-21 dalam pembelajaran IPA. Hasil penelitian menginterpretasikan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran IPA dapat memperhebat pemahaman serta keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa Pendekatan STEAM dan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBL) telah diketahui efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa. Selain itu, sumber belajar digital seperti YouTube, flipbook, dan permainan edukatif juga berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan minat siswa terhadap materi yang dipelajari. Namun, penerapannya masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti infrastruktur digital yang belum merata, keterbatasan akses terhadap teknologi, serta kesiapan tenaga pendidik. Oleh karena itu, guna memastikan integrasi keterampilan abad ke-21 dalam pendidikan IPA dapat berjalan secara optimal, diperlukan langkah-langkah untuk meningkatkan fasilitas serta mengembangkan kompetensi guru.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan 7 Kebiasaan Anak Indonesia Hebat dalam membentuk karakter disiplin siswa sekolah dasar (SD) di era digital. Ketujuh kebiasaan tersebut meliputi: bangun pagi, beribadah, berolahraga, makan sehat dan bergizi, gemar belajar, bermasyarakat, dan tidur cepat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, yang dilaksanakan di dua sekolah dasar dengan latar urban dan suburban. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi, dengan informan terdiri dari siswa kelas IV–VI, guru, dan orang tua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan ketujuh kebiasaan tersebut berkontribusi positif dalam menumbuhkan kedisiplinan siswa, baik dalam aspek pengelolaan waktu, tanggung jawab personal, maupun kedisiplinan akademik dan sosial. Meski demikian, tantangan signifikan ditemukan dari pengaruh era digital, seperti penggunaan gadget berlebihan dan gangguan dari media sosial, yang berpotensi melemahkan efektivitas pembentukan karakter disiplin. Dukungan guru dan keterlibatan aktif orang tua menjadi faktor penting dalam mengatasi hambatan tersebut. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa 7 Kebiasaan Anak Indonesia Hebat merupakan instrumen pembinaan karakter yang relevan dan strategis untuk menjawab tantangan pendidikan karakter di era digital, khususnya dalam membangun kedisiplinan siswa sejak dini.
