Abstract

Research aim: This study examines the impact of market orientation on the marketing performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Additionally, it identifies mediating and moderating factors that either strengthen or weaken this relationship. Design/Methode/Approach: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was employed using a bibliometric approach to map research trends. The selection process adhered to the PRISMA framework, with an analysis of studies sourced from the Scopus database. Research Finding : The findings indicate that market orientation plays a crucial role in enhancing SME marketing performance. However, its effectiveness is influenced by product innovation, marketing capabilities, digital adoption, and external factors such as regulations and market competition. Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study enriches the literature on market orientation and marketing performance in SMEs through a systematic synthesis. The findings highlight the importance of integrating market orientation with innovation and digitalization to improve SME competitiveness. Practitioner/Policy implication: For SME practitioners, this study underscores the importance of market-oriented marketing strategies supported by innovation and digitalization. Moreover, policymakers should facilitate access to financing and digital marketing training for SMEs to enhance their market performance. Research limitation: This study is limited to a literature review and does not capture the dynamic challenges faced by SMEs directly.

Abstract

Research aim : This research aims to analyze the influence of the Green Economy concept on Indonesia's economic growth for the 2011-2020 period, focusing on three main pillars: environmental, social, and economic.     Design/Method/Approach : This research uses a quantitative approach with an associative design, analyzing secondary time series data from 2011 to 2020. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine the effect of carbon emissions (CO₂), renewable energy consumption, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on economic growth as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP).          Research Finding : The results of the study show that simultaneously, carbon emissions, renewable energy, and FDI have a significant influence on Indonesia's economic growth. However, partially these three variables did not show a significant effect. Dependence on fossil energy (carbon emissions) still contributes to economic growth, while the transition to renewable energy and an increase in FDI have not had a significant impact on the period. Theoretical contribution/Originality : This research contributes to understanding the complexity of the relationship between Green Economy indicators and economic growth in developing countries such as Indonesia, particularly highlighting the challenges of energy transition and the role of foreign investment in the context of sustainability. Practical/Policy implication : This research implies the need for more comprehensive and long-term policies to integrate Green Economy principles in Indonesia's economic development strategy. Efforts are needed to accelerate the renewable energy transition and ensure foreign investment supports sustainable development. Research limitation : This research is limited to the 2011-2020 time period and only considers three independent variables. Other factors affecting economic growth and long-term policy dynamics are not covered.

Abstract

Research aim : This study addresses the impact of audit activity and internal control effectiveness on public finance management in The Gambia. Utilising empirical studies and theoretical frameworks, the study delves into the intricate dynamics of financial governance. Design/Methode/Approach: The study used the purposive sampling method for its specificity, allowing the selection of relevant and valuable respondents. This approach acknowledges that certain individuals or groups possess the information required by the study and, thus, choose its respondents to provide the needed data. Research Finding: The study highlights the crucial role played by robust internal controls and effective audit practices in fostering financial transparency, accountability, and efficiency. The findings underscore specific challenges, including management's limited commitment to implementing audit recommendations. Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study makes a noteworthy contribution by validating theoretical frameworks, specifically Agency, Control, and Resource Dependency theories. The empirical findings align with these theories, showcases their applicability to the dynamics of public finance management in The Gambia. This validation enhances the theoretical understanding of how audit activities and internal controls operate within the context of a developing country like the Gambia. Practitionel/Policy implication: To enhance financial governance, the study recommends updating the Public Finance Act, developing a policy for audit recommendation implementation, empowering internal audit units, and establishing an investigative institution. Research limitation: The small sample size constraints may introduce potential biases, and the perspectives expressed may not fully represent the diversity of viewpoints in Gambia's public finance management and lack generalization potentials.

Abstract

Research aim : The objective of this research is to examine the impact of tax revenue and inflation on the economic development of ASEAN emerging market nations from 2010 to 2023 Design/Methode/Approach : The analysis utilizes yearly secondary data acquired from diverse sources, including the World Bank, CEIC, and IMF. The chosen analytical technique is panel data regression, specifically the Random Effect Model (REM) approach, which was selected based on the Chow, Hausman, and Breusch-Pagan statistical tests. Research Finding : The research findings suggest that tax income has a detrimental and statistically significant impact on economic development. The findings suggest that fiscal and monetary policies have distinct effects on the economic development of ASEAN developing nations. Considerable tax revenue has the capacity to impede economic development, but modest inflation may stimulate economic growth Theoretical contribution/Originality :These findings enhance our knowledge of how macroeconomic factors affect economic growth in the ASEAN area. Practitionel/Policy implication : The significance of government action in controlling economic growth through taxation and inflation is supported by this study. Macroeconomic uncertainty may result in lower tax collection. This includes uncertainty about spending, investing, and saving. Economic activity is subsequently impacted, necessitating careful analysis. In order to lessen the detrimental effects on economic growth, particularly those on tax revenue and inflation, lessons learned from this study can be used to future financial crises and economic shocks. Research limitation : Due to inadequate data collection, this analysis eliminates the tax structure and is limited to looking at the tax revenue ratio. Future studies must clarify the tax systems of ASEAN countries in order to identify which taxes have a positive impact on economic growth and which have a negative one.
