Abstract

Macapat is a literary form with musical elements that is gradually losing its prominence in modern times. The limited efforts to preserve Macapat in Javanese language education necessitate innovation to engage students in learning activities. The utilization of technology can offer an intriguing learning experience. To this end, web-based applications can be employed to develop educational media. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of web-based interactive media in learning macapat and introducing the value of local wisdom. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Burengan 2 Kediri, with the participation of Javanese language class teachers and 5th grade students as research subjects. The data collection techniques in this study included observation, interviews, and documentation. After collecting the data, the researchers analyzed it using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes three stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. To ensure the data's validity, the researchers utilized data triangulation techniques. The study's findings demonstrate that website-based interactive media can enhance learning experience through interactivity. Various website-based applications like Canva, Wheelofnames, Online-Stopwatch, and Wordwall can serve as learning media. Employing interactive media helps guide students' focus, allowing for the effective transmission of the inherent value of local wisdom found in macapat.

Abstract

Tour of Lake Toba is a musical performance initiated by Rumah Karya Indonesia as the organizational institution responsible for this performance which is based on the idiom of traditional musical culture in the Lake Toba area. The Tour of Lake Toba musical performance has the theme Sira, which is an acronym for Sinergi Rasa. Sira in the lexicon of the North Sumatra Cultural region means salt brought by sira travelers or salt bearers from coastal areas to the highlands as an artifact of the exchange of objects and knowledge that occurred in the past. The aim of this research is to discuss the actor and power dimensions in the Tour of Lake Toba musical performance. The method used in this research is qualitative using a naturalistic approach. The research is discussed using Jo Hatch's rational organization theory approach. The research results show that the tour of Lake Toba musical performance involves various actors, both main actors and supporting actors. These actors create cooperation that produces a performance output that is bound by a cooperation agreement. From this agreement, a process emerged consisting of planning, organizing, mobilizing and supervising the musical performance tour of Lake Toba in the cities of Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Solo. Rumah Karya Indonesia Institution builds a strong social network. These connections and relationships are used to obtain support, resources, and information. So this becomes a network that provides specific power in carrying out North Sumatran traditional performances on the island of Java.

Abstract

The obong ritual is a death ritual carried out by the kalang community as a means of respecting the spirits of deceased ancestors. This ritual is a local wisdom in Kendal Regency. However, many people of kalang descent have abandoned obong rituals, so there is a need for cultural socialization media so that these rituals are not eroded by the times. This research aims to analyze the aesthetic form, symbolic meaning, and role of the obong ritual as a medium for cultural socialization. The research method used is a qualitative approach. Data was taken using in-depth interviews, documentation and observation. The research was conducted in Tratemulyo Village, Weleri District, Kendal Regency. The uniqueness of this research location is that the majority of the kalang people in Tratemulyo Village are actually Muslim, but still practice and carry out ceremonies of respect for ancestral spirits in the form of obong rituals. The research results show that the aesthetic form of the visual properties used in the obong ritual contains deep symbolism. It is not just decoration, but also summarizes the values and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. The symbolic meaning of offerings in the obong ritual never experiences a shift in meaning, because the meaning is passed down from generation to generation by the kalang shaman.

Abstract

Coastal Batik is a traditional artistic expression that thrives in the coastal areas of Indonesia, known for its beauty and resilience of character. The aims of this research are: (1) to examine and describe the special characteristics of Pesisir Batik work produced by batik-making families in Lasem and Tuban; (2) to analyze how various social, economic, and cultural aspects influence the practice of batik in families in Lasem and Tuban; and (3) to investigate the model or pattern of inheritance of batik skills and the Coastal Batik tradition in batik-making families in Lasem and Tuban. This research uses qualitative approach  with a multiple case study research design and an art anthropology approach. Research data were collected using three techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis employs interactive analysis according to Milles & Huberman's view, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of this research, in the family realm, the inheritance process can be achieved through three methods: (1) conditioning, (2) imitation or modeling, and (3) internalization or learning to cope. This research reveals the complexity of the inheritance of cultural traditions. Cultural, social, and economic factors play a significant role in shaping batik practices in both regions. It also highlights how batik-making families strive to maintain their traditional heritage while adapting to changing times. The implications of this research extend to a deeper understanding of cultural preservation efforts in an ever-changing context, providing valuable insights for cultural preservation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of gamification features in UI design on UX and user retention in mobile applications. This experimental research compares two user groups (with and without gamification) using questionnaires that assess UX and user retention, with purposive sampling, and data analysis using descriptive techniques, normality tests, and difference tests. The findings reveal that gamification in mobile app UIs significantly enhances UX and user retention. Key gamification features, such as challenges, achievements, leaderboards, interactive feedback, and social integration, positively impact usability, motivation, satisfaction, and user recommendations. Users in the gamified group reported higher ease of use, engagement, and satisfaction, leading to longer retention periods. This study reveals significant findings that integrating gamification elements into application design can enhance user satisfaction and loyalty, as well as encourage further research in the context of mobile application gamification.

The type of research used is descriptive quantitative with comparative techniques. The location of the research was at SMA GIKI 2 Surabaya, with a sample of 40 students, namely 20 students who participated in karawitan and 20 students who did not participate in karawitan. The first problem was analyzed descriptively and the second was analyzed using chi squared. The results of the analysis show that there is a condition of togetherness of students who follow, namely working together and compactly playing the gamelan according to the rhythm of Javanese songs, respecting each other, and helping each other. Through chi squared, the result is 0.0000. This shows the attitude of togetherness of students who do not participate in karawitan, namely teamwork in passing the ball to the opponent so that there is no struggle so that the game runs well.

Abstract

Although dances are generally performed by women, the traditional Acehnese dance "rapa'igeleng" is instead performed by a group of men, emphasizing cooperation, togetherness, and solidarity. Uniquely, there is a traditional oral product in the form of poetry that is also presented as an accompaniment to the dance. By analyzing dance learning behavior, this research aims to explain the learning processes undertaken by the male dance group at the traditional dance studio Seulawet at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. To gain a deep understanding, a qualitative method with participatory observation was used to examine the competence of the trainers, objectives, teaching materials, teaching methods, and assessments. Interviews and training program documents were also used for source and data triangulation.
