Abstract

Peroxymonosulfate (PMS) based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) have drawn great attention as potential technology for abatement of the refractory organic pollutants in water and soil. Zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) has garnered substantial research interest in the field of photocatalytic water treatment due to its appealing properties, such as thermal stability, considerable physical strength, and strong chemical resistance. Fe, Mn and a bimetallic Fe, Mn catalysts supported on ZrO2 were synthesized and tested for the activation of persulfate (PS) and peroxymonosulfate (PMS) in the degradation reaction of three different organic compounds: cinnamic acid (CA), benzoic acid (BA), and catechol (C). The reversible conversion between ZrS3 and ZrS2 has been observed for the first time by thermal decomposition of ZrS3 at 650 °C and sulfurization of ZrS2 in sulfur vapor at 550 °C. This result suggests a potential application of ZrS2 in the H2S splitting process for H2 recovery. Carbothermal reduction of Zr-sucrose gels powders into nano-phase ZrC, or ZrC-Zr (C,O) core-shell powders, via a composite of 2–4 nm sized ZrO2 and amorphous carbon, is described. In future, various techniques have been utilized to enhance the efficiency of zirconium dioxide such as doping, metal loading. Although co-catalysts have gained a lot of interest by researchers, more efforts should be directed in strengthening the binding force between the co-catalyst and the semiconductor. Moreover, high cost of noble metals, aggregation and corrosion can be overcome by replacing the noble metals with cheap transition metals; thus more investigation is required in that field.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of attitudes towards sustainable business models, social norms, and perceived behavioral control on the behavioral intentions of MSMEs in adopting sustainable business models, with open innovation ecosystem partnerships as an intervening variable. The object of the study focused on the Karya Batu Indah MSME, namely Cobek Batu Merapi craftsmen who have the potential to develop their business through the application of sustainability principles. Respondents in this study numbered 110 people, with the following criteria: being an active business actor in the Karya Batu Indah MSME, having run the business for at least one year, having a role in business decision-making, and being willing and able to provide information needed in the study. Data collection was carried out using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire, then the data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method through SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results showed that social norms have a significant positive influence on open innovation ecosystem partnerships, as well as contributing to attitudes and perceived behavioral control. Furthermore, open innovation ecosystem partnerships and perceived behavioral control were shown to have a significant positive influence on the behavioral intentions of MSMEs in adopting sustainable business models. Attitudes toward sustainable business models also positively influence behavioral intentions. The conclusion of this study is that the adoption of sustainable business models in the Cobek Batu Merapi MSME industry is more determined by social support and the business owner's ability to manage sustainability practices than by individual attitudes alone. Therefore, building a partnership ecosystem that supports open innovation and strengthens social norms is key to increasing MSME commitment to sustainability.

Abstract

This research holds high urgency given the high rate of educated unemployment in Indonesia, particularly among Vocational High School (SMK) graduates. The study's core focus is analyzing the crucial role of vocational education in creating graduates who are not only job-ready but also capable of entrepreneurship. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional design on 12th-grade Marketing students at State Vocational High Schools in Mojokerto Regency, the study specifically aims to test the influence of Industrial Work Practice (Prakerin) and Entrepreneurship Education on Entrepreneurial Motivation, with Self-Efficacy as a mediating variable. Data analysis will be conducted using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). While the final results are not yet available, the research is expected to reveal that Self-Efficacy acts as a significant mediator. This implies that the Prakerin experience and entrepreneurship coursework must first successfully foster students' self-confidence before their entrepreneurial motivation can be adequately boosted. Based on this framework, the key recommendations are to optimize the quality and duration of Prakerin and to reform Entrepreneurship Education methods to focus more on developing Self-Efficacy through intensive business simulations and real-world projects. Ultimately, these findings are expected to provide vital insights into how industrial experience and formal education can be better aligned to effectively encourage entrepreneurial aspirations among SMK graduates

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digitalization, innovation, and fiscal policy on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in East Kalimantan Province.1 The background of this research is based on the importance of digital transformation and government fiscal policy support in enhancing the competitiveness and productivity of MSMEs in the modern economic era.1 The research method used is quantitative with a multiple linear regression approach.1 Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 120 MSME actors in several regencies/cities in East Kalimantan.1 The analysis results indicate that the variables of digitalization (X₁), innovation (X₂), and fiscal policy (X₃) have a positive and significant influence on MSME performance (Y), both partially and simultaneously.1 The t-test shows that all three variables have a significance value of < 0.05, while the F-test results show an F-statistic of 45.762 with a significance of 0.000, indicating that the regression model is simultaneously significant.1 The coefficient of determination (R²) value is 0.685, which means that 68.5% of the variation in MSME performance can be explained by these three variables, while the remaining 31.5% is influenced by other factors outside the model.1 These findings indicate that enhancing digital capabilities, strengthening product and service innovation, and fiscal policy support such as government incentives and guidance play a crucial role in boosting MSME performance in East Kalimantan.1 Therefore, collaboration between the government, MSME actors, and financial institutions needs to be strengthened to create an adaptive, innovative, and sustainable business ecosystem.

Abstract

This quantitative study aims to analyse the influence of human resource competence, product innovation, and leadership on the improvement of fashion MSMEs in Jambi City, with entrepreneurial orientation as a mediating variable. Using 130 respondents analysed with the Partial Least Square (PLS) method, the results of the study show that HR competence, product innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial orientation do not directly have a significant effect on MSME Improvement, indicating that these factors have not been strategically integrated into business operations. Another important finding is that Leadership has a positive and significant effect on Entrepreneurial Orientation, but Entrepreneurial Orientation is unable to mediate the relationship between other independent variables and MSME Improvement. This conclusion emphasises the need to strengthen managerial capacity and develop a more adaptive entrepreneurial mindset among fashion MSMEs in Jambi City so that entrepreneurial orientation can be transformed into a driver of real performance improvement. Abstract

The sustainability of citrus farming in Sukopuro Village, Malang Regency, faces serious challenges in the form of declining interest among the younger generation, pest and disease attacks, and unpredictable climate change. Amidst these conditions, religious values and family involvement are believed to play an important role in maintaining farmers' resilience and business continuity. This study aims to analyze how religiousness and family involvement shape the practice of sustainable citrus farming. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving farmers, family members, and religious leaders as informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña technique. The results show that religiosity functions as spiritual capital that increases farmers' psychological resilience in facing production uncertainty, while family involvement becomes a social foundation that strengthens the inheritance of values, division of roles, and business continuity between generations. However, the challenges of regeneration, climate risks, and ecological vulnerability remain major obstacles to maintaining business sustainability. This study concludes that the sustainability of the citrus business is not only determined by technical factors but also depends heavily on the strength of religious-social capital and family solidarity. These findings make an important contribution to strengthening the sustainability model of agriculture based on local values and family culture

Abstract

This study aims to explain how locally-based adaptive innovation has become a survival strategy for Usman Batik Lumajang (UBL) in facing competition from the modern batik industry. Batik MSMEs are required to develop innovations that are rooted in cultural values while also being responsive to market changes. To explore this process in depth, this study uses a qualitative grounded theory method with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Informants include business owners, craftsmen, marketing staff, consumers, and community leaders. The results of the analysis through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding show that UBL's adaptive innovation is formed from a combination of local cultural values, design creativity, marketing strategy adjustments, and community support. Distinctive motifs such as Pisang Agung and Kuda Kencak are unique resources that are difficult to imitate, in line with the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory. Meanwhile, design development, quality improvement, and product diversification reflect innovation as defined in the OECD (Oslo Manual). The resulting substantive theory concludes that the sustainability of batik MSMEs is largely determined by the ability to integrate local cultural values with modern product innovation in a sustainable manner. Local-based adaptive innovation not only enhances competitiveness but also plays a role in preserving regional cultural identity
