Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the B-STAD learning model in enhancing problem-solving ability and to analyze the interaction between learning models and students’ self-regulation. Methods : The study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design involving 186 Elementary School Teacher Education students who enrolled in 2022. The researchers used problem-solving ability tests and self-regulation questionnaires as instruments, both tested for validity and reliability. The analysis results revealed a significant difference between the group using the B-STAD model and the control group. The average problem-solving ability score for the B-STAD group reached 78.5, while the control group averaged only 65.3. A two-way ANOVA test produced a p-value of < 0.05, indicating that the B-STAD model significantly improved problem-solving ability. Furthermore, the analysis showed that students’ self-regulation had a correlation coefficient of 0.65 with problem-solving ability, demonstrating a strong positive relationship. Results: The findings conclude that implementing the B-STAD model significantly enhances the problem-solving ability of Elementary School Teacher Education students, with an average increase of 13.2 points compared to traditional learning methods. Conclusion: This study recommends that educators consistently apply the B-STAD model in the learning process while also focusing on developing students’ self-regulation. Therefore, this research provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of innovative learning models for improving educational outcomes.

Abstract

The lack of student active learning in each school is one of the problems in the world of education. Media that is less attractive, learning methods that are not used appropriately in learning are one of the factors that make students less active or less interactive in the teaching and learning process. In this study, researchers tried to examine how the use of wordwall and card sort media can increase student learning activity. This research was conducted at MAN Sidoarjo with the entire class XI class, totaling 451 students. This type of research uses classroom action research which will be used with pre-cycle and cycle I actions. This research produces that wordwall and card sort media can increase students' learning activity. This can be seen from the percentage carried out in the pre-cycle of 60%, while in cycle I during the implementation of the method the result was a 92% increase in student learning activity

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the dynamics of social interaction at SDN 2 Danamulya, Plumbon, Cirebon, emphasizing the influence of school conditions on students' social engagement and behavior. Social interaction is essential for character formation and social skill development, with the school environment—encompassing policies, relationships, and facilities—playing a pivotal role. Novelty: This research highlights the specific impact of inclusive policies, teacher-student relationships, and peer interactions in fostering positive social development, providing new insights into how school leadership influences social interactions among students. Methods: Using a case study approach, this research examines how inclusive policies, teacher-student relationships, and peer interactions foster positive social development. Results: The findings, grounded in Social Learning Theory, reveal that students acquire social behaviors through observation, reinforcement, and interaction. School initiatives such as collaborative learning, mentoring programs, and structured reward systems create a supportive environment, with school leadership playing a crucial role in sustaining these interactions. Conclusion: The study underscores the importance of continuously enhancing strategies to promote inclusivity and positive social engagement, though it is limited to the internal school environment and does not account for external social influences.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to analyze the efforts made to improve students' ability to read and write the Al-Qur'an at MI Darul Hikam. Novelty: The study highlights the specific strategies implemented by MI Darul Hikam, emphasizing the integration of iqra’ and tahfiz methods, which have not been extensively documented in similar contexts. Methods: The research method was carried out using a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Results: The research results show that MI Darul Hikam implemented various strategies to improve these abilities, including the use of iqra’ and tahfiz methods. This can be seen from the existence of a well-implemented Al-Qur'an (BTQ) reading and writing program and the use of appropriate methods, intensive guidance programs, as well as support from the school and parents. Conclusion: As a result of these efforts, students' ability to read and write the Al-Qur'an experienced a significant increase.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to discover the Scout Leaders' perspective on the role of Scouting Education in building the character of Elementary School students. Novelty: The study provides insights into the unique challenges and strategies employed by Scout Leaders in character education. Methods: The study employed a qualitative approach utilizing the phenomenological method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with Scout Leaders at SDIT Amaliah and analyzed following the Miles and Huberman model. Results: The research results have four main focuses: urgency, implementation, challenges, and strategies of Scout Leaders in building student character through Scouting Education. Conclusion: The research concluded that Scouting Education has a significant role in shaping student character, especially the characters of independence, discipline, leadership, caring, courage, responsibility, and cooperation through Scouting activities that have been implemented. Although Scout Leaders face challenges in building student character through Scouting Education, the leaders have a strategy so that character values are still internalized effectively, namely by conducting Scouting activities through fun team games. This research contributes to supporting character building through Scouting Education in Elementary Schools.

Abstract

This study explores the role of culture-based learning in fostering nationalism among elementary school students in Indonesia and Türkiye. Objective: This study aims to analyze and compare the effectiveness of cultural elements in shaping students' national identity and patriotic values ​​in both countries. Novelty: This study is novel in its comparative approach, highlighting similarities and differences in cultural learning strategies implemented in elementary schools in Indonesia and Turkey. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study, involving observation, interviews with teachers, and content analysis of curriculum documents. Results: Both countries integrate local traditions, historical narratives, and national symbols in their education systems, but with different pedagogical approaches. While Indonesia emphasizes local wisdom and folklore, Turkey combines historical events and civic education. Conclusion: Culture-based learning contributes significantly to nurturing nationalism, and integrating local pedagogical strategies can further enhance students' sense of national identity.

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between principals' decision-making strategies and teachers' job satisfaction in secondary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria. Novelty: This study provides a unique perspective by analyzing multiple decision-making strategies, including open-door, closed-door, consultation, and collaboration, and their varying impacts on teachers' job satisfaction, which has not been extensively explored in the Nigerian secondary school context. Methods: This study used a descriptive survey design. It involved 7675 senior secondary school teachers from 407 public schools in Kwara State. A sample of 297 respondents was selected from 825 teachers using Krejcie and Morgan's table and simple random sampling from 35 schools. Data were collected through a self-designed questionnaire, "Principals' Decision-Making Strategies Teachers' Job Satisfaction Questionnaire" (PDMSTJSQ), on a 4-point Likert scale. Research questions were analyzed using mean and standard deviation, while hypotheses were tested using Pearson Product Moment Correlation at a 0.05 significance level. Results: The study found that open-door, closed-door, consultation, and collaborative decision-making strategies are the most common, with a mean of 3.18. Open-door decision-making positively correlates with teachers' job satisfaction, while closed-door and consultation strategies show negative correlations. Collaboration also has a negative relationship. These results suggest that teachers' job satisfaction is influenced by the decision-making strategies used and their overall work environment. Conclusion: The study found a significant relationship between open-door decision-making strategies, closed-door decision-making strategies, consultation decision-making strategies, and collaboration decision-making strategies in Kwara State secondary schools.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between environmental awareness and science learning outcomes of elementary school students in Madiun City. Environmental awareness is an important factor in science education, which is expected to increase students' awareness and understanding of science concepts related to the environment. Novelty: This study highlights the impact of environmental awareness on science learning outcomes, emphasizing its role in enhancing students' understanding and academic achievement, which has not been extensively explored in the context of elementary education in Madiun City. Methods: The research method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. The research sample consisted of elementary school students in several schools in Madiun City who were selected randomly. Data were collected through an environmental awareness questionnaire and a science learning outcome test. Data analysis used the Pearson correlation test to determine the relationship between the two variables. Results: The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between environmental awareness and students' science learning outcomes. The higher the students' environmental awareness, the better the science learning outcomes they obtained. Conclusion: This finding indicates that strengthening environmental awareness in science learning can contribute to improving students' understanding and academic achievement.

Abstract

Research on ethnoscience-based instructional materials in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) education has grown in recent years. However, a significant gap remains in bibliometric analysis and systematic mapping, limiting the understanding of research trends, collaboration patterns, and key themes in this field. Objective: This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of ethnoscience-based IPAS instructional materials to identify publication trends, researcher networks, and thematic focuses. Novelty: Unlike previous studies focusing on classroom implementation, this research offers the first bibliometric mapping of ethnoscience in IPAS materials. Methods: This study used a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications (2020–2025). Data was analyzed using VOSviewer 1.6.20, Biblioshiny, and Microsoft Excel to identify trends and key research themes. Results: The findings reveal that Indonesia and China are the top contributors, with dominant themes including curriculum development and student engagement. Research collaboration remains limited, with only 16.73% of studies involving international partnerships. Additionally, challenges include the lack of a standardized framework for implementing ethnoscience in elementary curricula. Conclusion: This study highlights the need for cross-disciplinary collaboration between educators, researchers, and policymakers to enhance the application of ethnoscience in elementary school. Strengthening international partnerships will further support the development of culturally responsive and scientifically robust instructional materials.
