Abstract

This study aims to determine how employee involvement and empowerment (PKK) in total quality management (TQM) of education. The method used in this study is a literature review or library study by relying on data sources from various national and international journals indexed in Google Scholar, Garuda, DOAJ, Sinta, Scopus and others to obtain research data. The data analysis technique applied is content analysis, where the literature is read repeatedly and compared to each other to ensure the accuracy of the research results and reduce the possibility of errors. The results of the study indicate that employee involvement includes involvement in various activities and decision making and problem solving. While employee empowerment is to provide meaning and real impact in the involvement. The inhibiting factors for employee involvement and empowerment (PKK) in total quality management (TQM) are the lack of top management commitment, wrong focus of attention, gaps in top management commitment, employee work culture and excessive worry factors.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the official policy documents published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenag RI) regarding the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The study was conducted through a literature review approach to enrich the literature on Islamic education policy and provide a mapping of curriculum policy directions within the madrasian environment. The document review was conducted by reading and understanding the contents of regulations, implementation guidelines, teaching modules, and socialization materials directly related to the curriculum policy. The data was analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify the content of the policy, objectives, implementation direction, and challenges faced in the implementation in Islamic-based educational institutions. The results of the document review indicate that implementation challenges remain significant, including: gaps in teachers' understanding of the philosophy and technical aspects of implementing the curriculum, limitations in infrastructure and technology required to support project-based learning, and uneven readiness of teaching tools and educational resources across all madrases. The implications of these findings suggest that strengthening teacher capacity, providing relevant teaching tools, and involving parents and the community are key to creating a responsive, transformative, and meaningful Islamic educational ecosystem for students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of exemplary values in character education at the elementary school level. Character education is a crucial component in shaping students' personalities, and role modeling is considered one of the most effective methods, as children tend to imitate the behavior of figures they admire, such as teachers and parents. In the context of Indonesian education, exemplary behavior is seen as a powerful means to instill moral values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and tolerance, which are essential for life in society. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected from various literature sources, including books, academic journals, and educational policy documents related to character education and role modeling. The collected data were then analyzed to identify basic concepts, field implementation practices, and the challenges in integrating exemplary values into the learning process. The findings reveal that role modeling significantly influences the internalization of character values in students. Teachers' daily behavior and attitudes, along with active involvement from parents at home, play a crucial role in shaping children's character. Furthermore, character education integrated into both the formal curriculum and extracurricular activities strengthens the development of those values. Therefore, collaboration between schools, families, and the broader community is key to the successful implementation of character education based on exemplary practices.

Abstract

In science learning in Grade V at SD Negeri 01 Sumber Harapan, there is an issue regarding the lack of student engagement in the learning process. Students tend to be passive and unenthusiastic about participating in class activities. This issue arises due to the teacher’s limited use of technology during instruction. To address this problem, the integration of technology such as Chromebooks is considered a strategic step aligned with 21st-century educational needs.The purpose of this study is to examine whether the use of Chromebooks in learning can enhance student engagement, particularly in the topic of the human skeletal system, among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 01 Sumber Harapan. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The main focus is to describe the implementation process of Chromebook-based science learning in Grade V and to analyze the forms of student engagement during the learning process.The study was conducted at SD Negeri 01 Sumber Harapan, involving fifth-grade teachers and students in the 2024/2025 academic year as research subjects. Data collection techniques included indirect observation, interviews, and documentation. Indirect observation was conducted by analyzing video recordings of classroom instruction carried out by the teacher. These videos captured the entire learning process using Chromebooks, including the introduction, core activities, and closing stages. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the fifth-grade teacher and several students. Documentation was carried out by collecting and analyzing materials related to the implementation of Chromebook-based learning. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the teacher utilized Chromebooks effectively in fifth-grade science lessons, which led to increased student engagement. The improvements observed include: (1) students were able to explore learning materials independently, (2) students showed increased confidence in expressing their opinions, and (3) students actively participated in group project work.

Abstract

This study explores the transformation of Arabic language teaching through online digitalization for non-Arab learners at the MaliQa Arabic Language Academy. The main objective is to examine the impact of digital technology on learners' motivation, learning outcomes, and the challenges faced during the online learning process. The research employs a qualitative approach using phenomenological methods, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the use of digital platforms such as Google Meet and learning media like PowerPoint enhances student motivation by offering time flexibility, interactive features, and engaging visual presentations. However, technical barriers such as network instability and limited access to devices, as well as challenges related to digital literacy, were also identified as obstacles to effective learning. The study concludes that while digitalization offers significant advantages in improving the quality of Arabic language instruction, adequate infrastructure support and digital literacy training are essential to optimize the effectiveness of online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze research trends on deep learning pedagogy within the context of Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum during the period 2016–2025. The research employed a bibliometric analysis using the Dimensions database, with searches conducted through keywords such as “pembelajaran mendalam,” “meaningful learning,” and “Merdeka Curriculum.” Metadata including titles, publication years, authors, keywords, and citations were extracted and analyzed using VOSviewer. The analysis consisted of four stages: descriptive trend mapping, network visualization, overlay visualization, and density visualization. The findings reveal a significant increase in publications, with a sharp surge in 2025 following the release of official regulations that explicitly positioned deep learning as the core pedagogical approach of the Merdeka Curriculum. The network visualization highlights dominant foci on approach, practice, development, and project, while the overlay visualization shows a shift from descriptive documentation of learning processes toward evaluation and strategy development. Density visualization further identifies emerging research opportunities in technology integration, character building, and institutional support. Practical implications suggest that teachers should simplify essential content, employ formative assessment, and design contextual projects, while schools are encouraged to provide professional training, collaborative spaces, and flexible policies. Overall, the study confirms that deep learning pedagogy is not only academically relevant but also strategically vital in strengthening student competencies and the Profil Pelajar Pancasila.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role and leadership strategies of the principal in improving student discipline at MTs Al Hidayah Serah Panceng, Gresik, within the context of implementing the new curriculum and character strengthening policies. The dual mandate of madrasahs to develop both competence and character—based on the Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs (KMA) No. 450 of 2024 and the Character Education Strengthening Program (PPK)—requires an adaptive leadership model. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that the principal’s leadership (H. Asykuroni) is integrative, combining charismatic, democratic, strategic, and cultural styles. The discipline enhancement strategy emphasizes inner control through personal example and cooperative control through collaboration with parents, while external control based on the reward–punishment system is not the dominant approach. The most original finding is the practice of “collaborative learning module development,” which synthesizes the guidelines of LP Ma’arif NU and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This innovation represents a bottom-up implementation of the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila dan Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin (P5RA) philosophy. The study concludes that adaptive leadership grounded in local wisdom and human resource empowerment successfully fosters a discipline culture based on moral awareness, and serves as an effective model for harmonizing national education policies with the cultural–religious identity of madrasahs.

Abstract

This community service project aims to foster early childhood interest and love for the Arabic language through play and song-based learning in Islamic early childhood education. The program was conducted with teachers and children at TKM Al-Asy’ari Sidoarjo, emphasizing joyful, interactive, and spiritually enriched learning experiences. The methods involved teacher mentoring, demonstration of Arabic songs, and implementation of play-based activities integrating basic Arabic vocabulary. Observation and interviews were used to evaluate children’s engagement, linguistic responses, and enthusiasm. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s motivation, memory of Arabic words, and participation during learning sessions. Teachers also reported increased confidence in applying creative Arabic teaching strategies. This study highlights the importance of integrating emotional, cultural, and spiritual elements in Arabic learning from an early age to build positive language attitudes and lay the foundation for future proficiency.

Abstract

The rapid development of the digital era presents new challenges to the cultivation of religious values among elementary school students, highlighting the need for structured programs that strengthen their spiritual character. This study aims to examine the influence of the IMTAQ (Faith and Piety) program on students’ levels of faith and piety at SDN Galang Bulan, Central Lombok. A quantitative ex post facto design was employed, involving 91 Muslim students from grades IV, V, and VI. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires that measured the implementation of the IMTAQ program and students’ levels of faith and piety. The findings indicate that the IMTAQ program was implemented in the “good” category (mean = 3.23), and students’ faith and piety levels also fell within the “good” category (mean = 3.20). Statistical analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between the implementation of IMTAQ and students’ faith and piety (r = 0.678, p < 0.05), with a coefficient of determination of R² = 0.46, indicating that 46% of the variance in faith and piety is explained by the IMTAQ program. This study concludes that consistent, structured, and value-oriented IMTAQ activities play a substantial role in fostering students’ spiritual behavior. The implications of this research suggest that schools should enhance the variety and quality of IMTAQ activities while encouraging greater involvement from teachers and parents to optimize religious character development among students.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of ethnoscience and ethnopedagogy into science learning by examining two cultural sites in Yogyakarta: Batik Tulis Giriloyo and the Prambanan Temple. Using qualitative descriptive methods, the research identifies scientific phenomena embedded in traditional batik production,such as chemical reactions in natural dyes, heat transfer in wax processing, and biological aspects of plant-based pigments,as well as physical, chemical, and ecological processes observable in the architecture and environment of Prambanan. These findings are then connected to science learning competencies at the junior and senior high school levels, demonstrating the relevance of culturally grounded phenomena to concepts such as states of matter, diffusion, oxidation, biodegradation, structural stability, and ecosystem dynamics. The study proposes a culturally embedded IPA learning model consisting of five stages: cultural orientation, artifact-based scientific exploration, simple experiments, value reflection, and the strengthening of character and scientific literacy. The integration of ethnoscience enriches conceptual understanding, while ethnopedagogical values, such as patience, accuracy, harmony, and environmental awareness, support character development. This approach aligns with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing authentic, contextual, and culturally responsive science learning.
