Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a major global health problem that requires long-term therapy such as hemodialysis. The success of hemodialysis treatment is strongly influenced by the quality of interaction between healthcare providers and patients’ families, particularly in providing emotional support, information, and accompaniment throughout the treatment process. This study aims to analyze the interaction model between medical personnel and families of hemodialysis patients and to explore the factors that influence communication effectiveness in supporting treatment adherence and improving patients’ quality of life. This research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach to explore the lived experiences of healthcare professionals and family members in the Hemodialysis Unit of Hasanuddin University Hospital, Makassar. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation review. A total of 20 participants took part in the study, consisting of 10 healthcare workers and 10 family caregivers. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis involving coding, categorization, and interpretation of phenomenological meanings. The findings indicate that therapeutic communication, empathy, and openness form the foundation of effective interactions between healthcare providers and families. Families play an essential role in offering emotional support, ensuring adherence to dialysis schedules, participating in medical decision-making, and providing logistical assistance. The study also identifies several barriers to effective interaction, including emotional distress, limited knowledge, time constraints, and differences in educational background. This research proposes an interaction model that emphasizes two-way collaboration, continuous education, and family-centered communication. This study contributes to strengthening therapeutic communication practices in hemodialysis settings and provides a foundation for developing policies that enhance humanistic and collaborative care between medical personnel, patients, and their families.

Abstract

Pricing of healthcare services is a crucial element in clinic management, influencing operational sustainability and patient access to treatment. However, pricing practices in many dental clinics are still determined conventionally based on market rates without a systematic cost calculation. This study aims to analyze Implementation Strategy of the Activity Based Costing (ABC) method in determining dental service fees at Abbasy Dental Clinic Purwokerto. A Qualitative Methods  approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, document analysis, and questionnaires administered to 50 patients and 10 clinic staff. The results indicate that the ABC method provides more accurate service cost calculations by identifying activities that generate expenses, including medical supplies (BHP), medical personnel fees, CSSD, dental equipment usage, dental unit costs, and administrative fees. The ABC-based pricing, using a 35% profit margin, resulted in final fees of IDR 226,125 for extraction, IDR 246,375 for GIC restoration, IDR 259,875 for scaling, and IDR 300,375 for composite restoration. Questionnaire results revealed positive patient perceptions regarding tariff transparency and fairness (mean > 4.18) and staff support for accuracy and efficiency in cost management (mean > 4.05). This study concludes that the ABC method can be applied as an accurate, fair pricing system that enhances patient trust and improves cost management effectiveness in dental clinics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of management and educational efficiency in an educational institution through the measurement of teachers’ and education personnel’s perceptions. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a closed-ended questionnaire instrument based on a Likert scale. A number of respondents completed the questionnaire, which consists of 35 indicators covering human resource management, infrastructure efficiency, learning effectiveness, administrative digitalization, work culture, leadership, and technological transformation. The analysis results show that the level of management and efficiency falls into the “good” category, with average scores ranging from 3.80 to 4.35. The indicator with the highest score is collaborative work culture (4.35), while the indicator that still requires improvement is efficiency as a key indicator of quality (3.77). These findings confirm that the educational institution has a strong management foundation but needs further reinforcement in integrating efficiency as a core culture in decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of tax awareness and student perceptions on the interest in subscribing to Spotify following the implementation of Digital VAT in the South Denpasar region, based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. This quantitative research utilized a purposive sampling method to collect data from 120 active students through online questionnaires, which were subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that, partially, tax awareness has a positive and significant effect on subscription interest, suggesting that an understanding of tax functions strengthens students' intention to continue using official services. Similarly, student perceptions of Digital VAT have a positive and significant influence, showing that a favorable view of policy fairness and transparency helps maintain user loyalty. Simultaneously, both tax awareness and student perceptions significantly influence the variation in Spotify subscription interest. This study concludes that adequate tax literacy and positive perceptions of government policy are key factors in maintaining consumer interest within the digital service ecosystem among academics.

Abstract

Indonesia’s healthcare system is still heavily dependent on imported dialyzers, with around 89% of national demand supplied from abroad. This high level of import reliance impacted to the healthcare sector to supply disruptions and ongoing capital outflow, the problems that became particularly apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic. Inline with the number of patients requiring routine dialysis is continue to increase, the demand for dialysis medical devices has also increased. This situation emphasizes the importance of developing local manufacturing facilities to strengthen healthcare resilience in Indonesia. This study assesses the feasibility of establishing a local dialyzer manufacturing facility in Indonesia through a case study of PT. Ichiban Medical Global (pseudonym name). The research uses a case study approach with primary data from internal company sources, including investment, cost, and operational projections, supported by secondary data from government regulations, BPJS Kesehatan, industry associations, and international health organizations. The analysis covers market demand, regulatory support under the Domestic Content Requirement (TKDN) policy, technical and operational readiness, and financial feasibility using capital budgeting methods. The results indicate strong and sustainable market demand supported by BPJS coverage and single-use dialyzer regulation, along with favorable government policies such as TKDN incentives and e-Catalog procurement. Financial analysis shows positive investment outcomes, with a positive Net Present Value, an Internal Rate of Return above the cost of capital, and an acceptable payback period. Overall, the study concludes that local dialyzer manufacturing is financially viable and strategically important for reducing import dependency and strengthening Indonesia’s healthcare system.
