Abstract

Mammary tumor is a group of abnormal cells in the breast that grow multiple times. These cells then form a mass/lump in the breast. Nursing problems that can occur in post-operative mammary tumor sufferers are; acute pain related to surgical incisions, disturbed sleep patterns, impaired skin/tissue integrity, anxiety related to crisis situations, risk of infection related to risk factors for leukopenia (Smeltzer, 2018). This scientific paper aims to enable researchers to provide an explanation regarding nursing care using the finger grip relaxation technique to reduce pain intensity in patients post surgery for right breast tumors in Mrs. S at the Bhakti Wira Tamtama Hospital. The research method uses the case study method. The study subject is an individual, namely Mrs. S patient post surgery for dextra mammary tumor. The focus of this case study is the application of finger grip relaxation techniques to reduce pain intensity in post-operative patients with dextra mammary tumors. The location for collecting case study data was at Bhakti Wira Tamtama Hospital on January 22-23 2024. The research results showed that nursing diagnoses were made based on complaints and results of examinations carried out on mammary tumor patients in the patient's medical records, the diagnosis made was acute pain. In conclusion, the application of the finger grip relaxation technique was effective in reducing pain intensity in post-operative patients with right breast tumors in Mrs. S (pain scale decreased from 7 to 3).

Abstract

The implementation of ARV therapy is one of the keys to the success of HIV/AIDS treatment programs aimed at preventing the spread of HIV infection and improving the quality of life of People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Knowing the relationship between lost to follow up and adherence to ARV therapy in HIV/AIDS patients in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This type of quantitative research with a cross-sectional research design. This research was carried out at the Victory Plus Yogyakarta Foundation from April to August 2024. The respondents in this study were PLWHA aged 17-50 years infected with HIV in 2023 with the assistance of the Victory Plus Yogyakarta Foundation totaling 124 people. The research instruments used were the Health Belief Model lost to follow up and MMAS-8 (Morisky Medication Adherence Scale). Analysis uses the gamma correlation test. The majority of respondents had less lost to follow up behavior, 66 respondents (52.8%). 100 respondents (80.0%) had ARV therapy adherence among respondents who were non-compliant with ARV therapy. The statistical test results showed that the p value was <0.000, which was smaller than 0.05, so there was a relationship between lost to follow up behavior and adherence to ARV therapy in HIV/AIDS patients in D.I Yogyakarta. Based on this research, lost to follow up plays an important role in adherence to ARV consumption.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a health problem in pregnant women that needs special attention because the exact cause is still unknown, and can cause death in the mother and fetus. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors for the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women in the Maternity Room of RSUD dr. Soedono Madiun. The research design used was descriptive quantitative method and accidental sampling technique. Data collection was carried out on 7 February-16 March 2024. The research instrument used was an interview sheet. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the risk factors for preeclampsia are due to hypertension (94%), ANC (antenatal care) visits (90%), age (73%), obesity (45%), pregnancy distance (30%), parity (24%), diabetes mellitus (9%), asthma attacks (9%) and anaemia (3%), twin pregnancy (0%). Based on the risk factors for preeclampsia, the dominant risk factor for hypertension was 94%. This is because the average mother has a history of hypertension before pregnancy and recurrence after pregnancy so that it hinders the delivery process. Pregnant women must continue to maintain health during pregnancy by carrying out routine pregnancy checks in a timely manner and awareness of the risk of pregnancy preeclampsia that occurs.

Abstract

The high incidence of malnutrition in toddlers is caused by an unbalanced diet, poor parenting, and a lack of physical activity, which has an impact on the suboptimal growth and development of toddlers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of diet, parenting, and physical activity on nutritional status in toddlers. This study used a correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 53 respondents with a sample of 47 respondents, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through the use of questionnaires, and the analysis used multivariate regression statistical tests. The results showed that most respondents had a poor diet (70.2%), almost all applied democratic parenting (87.2%), most did toddler physical activities well (95.8%), and the majority had poor nutritional status (74.4%). There was a significant relationship between diet patterns and nutritional status of toddlers at the Bungku Health Center, Morowali Regency (p = 0.001 <0.05). However, no significant relationship was found between parenting methods (p = 0.434 > 0.05) and toddler physical activity (p = 0.682 > 0.05) with the nutritional status of toddlers in the same location. Diet patterns, parenting methods, and physical activity are among the factors that influence nutritional status in toddlers, thus having an impact on child growth and development.

Abstract

Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) is a highly contagious disease and a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. When Mycobacterium tuberculosis enters the body of an individual with elevated blood glucose levels, it creates a favorable environment for bacterial growth and proliferation. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the correlation between blood glucose levels and acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smear results in pulmonary tuberculosis patients at Arifin Achmad General Hospital, Pekanbaru. Methods: This study employed a retrospective analytical correlational design using secondary data from medical records. A total sample of 51 cases was analyzed using total sampling. Data was collected using an observation sheet and analyzed using Fisher's exact test. Results: A majority of the respondents (43%) had blood glucose levels exceeding 125 mg/dl, and a significant proportion (76.5%) had positive AFB smears. The Fisher exact test revealed a significant correlation between blood glucose levels and positive AFB smear results (p < 0.05). Conclusion: This study demonstrates a significant association between blood glucose levels and AFB smear results in pulmonary tuberculosis patients at Arifin Achmad General Hospital, Pekanbaru.
