Abstract

Morbili is a highly contagious acute viral infection and remains a health problem, especially in children. The number of morbili cases recorded in the Marwa Ward of Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital is increasing, namely 5 cases in 2023, 1 case in 2024, and increasing to 58 cases in 2025. Morbili is also included in the three most common diseases and has caused extraordinary events (KLB). This condition requires optimal care. The high frequency of occurrence and the danger of life threatening complications require effective and comprehensive treatment. This condition requires the provision of comprehensive and targeted care to prevent complications. This study aims to provide an overview of the nursing care process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in children with morbili. This study was conducted using a case study method from February 10 to 14, 2026, in the Marwa Ward of Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital. The results revealed health problems such as ineffective airway clearance, hyperthermia, diarrhea, and the risk of nutritional deficits. Interventions included monitoring vital signs, regular temperature monitoring, maintaining the airway, and meeting fluid needs to prevent dehydration. Five days after surgical intervention, secretions were removed, the child's temperature returned to normal, diarrhea frequency decreased, and appetite improved. Appropriate care can stabilize the condition of children with Morbili and can serve as a reference for implementing pediatric care practices.

Abstract

Bronchopneumonia is a respiratory tract infection characterized by the accumulation of secretions due to mucus buildup, which interferes with ventilation and increases the risk of impaired tissue oxygenation as well as complications such as respiratory failure. This study aims to describe the implementation of nursing care for children with bronchopneumonia, including assessment, nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The research method used is a case study of patient An. A who was treated in the Pediatric Ward of RSUD Prof. H. M. Yamin, SH Pariaman from March 3 to March 7, 2026. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, physical examination, and documentation. The results showed that the patient experienced several nursing problems, namely ineffective airway clearance, ineffective breathing pattern, hyperthermia, and risk of nutritional deficit. Nursing interventions provided included airway management, respiratory monitoring, hyperthermia management, and nutritional management. After five days of nursing care, the patient’s condition improved, as indicated by more effective airway clearance, improved breathing pattern, normal body temperature, and increased appetite. It can be concluded that comprehensive and standard-based nursing care is effective in improving the patient’s condition. Nurses are expected to regularly monitor the patient’s respiratory status and provide education to the family regarding home care, including maintaining environmental hygiene, avoiding exposure to cigarette smoke, meeting nutritional needs, and conducting regular follow-up visits to prevent recurrence.

Abstract

Measles is a highly contagious acute infectious disease and remains a significant health problem among children, particularly due to low immunization coverage. In 2025, there was an increase in measles cases in Pariaman City, reaching 115 cases, associated with a vaccination coverage rate of only 40%. This study aimed to describe nursing care provided to a child with measles and emphasize the importance of prevention through immunization. The method used was a case study of a 9-year-old child (An. S) who was hospitalized for five days with a diagnosis of measles. Assessment findings revealed major symptoms including high fever, productive cough, maculopapular rash, decreased appetite, and conjunctivitis. Four primary nursing problems were identified: ineffective airway clearance, hyperthermia, impaired skin integrity, and risk of nutritional deficit. Nursing interventions included fever management, airway care, skin care, and nutritional support delivered comprehensively and continuously. Evaluation results showed that all nursing problems were resolved within five days of care. In conclusion, appropriate and comprehensive nursing care significantly improved the patient's condition. Family education and complete immunization are essential measures to prevent measles in children.

Abstract

Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix caused by lumen obstruction, infection, or fecaliths, characterized by right lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever. The primary treatment for this condition is appendectomy. Globally, the incidence of appendicitis reaches around 214 per 100,000 population while the incidence of appendectomy is around 88%–90% of cases. At Prof. M. Yamin S,H Pariaman Regional General Hospital, Appendicitis was recorded in 80 cases with Appendectomy surgery in 37 cases. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to provide nursing care to pre-post appendectomy patients in the Operating Room of Prof. M. Yamin S,H Pariaman Regional General Hospital. The method used is a case study carried out in the operating room for 6 days on February 7, 2026 to February 12, 2026 with a sample of Ms. Z. The results of the study obtained 6 Pre-Operative nursing problems, namely Acute Pain, Hyperthermia, Anxiety. And Post-Operative, namely Acute Pain, Impaired Physical Mobility, Risk of Infection. Nursing actions included monitoring vital signs, assessing pain levels, providing comfortable positions, deep breathing relaxation techniques, collaborative analgesic administration, aseptic surgical wound care, health education, and recommendations for gradual early mobilization. A 6-day evaluation showed that the nursing issues were resolved on the sixth day, with diagnoses of acute pain, impaired physical mobility, and risk of infection. Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. DHF remains a major public health problem in Indonesia due to its high incidence rate. This scientific paper aimed to describe the implementation of nursing care for a patient with DHF. The method used was a case study applying the nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The subject of the study was one patient (Ms. N) who was hospitalized for five days in the Internal Medicine Ward of Prof. M. Yamin Hospital, Pariaman. The results revealed four nursing diagnoses: hypovolemia, hyperthermia, risk for bleeding, and risk for nutritional deficit. After comprehensive nursing interventions were provided, the patient's condition improved as evidenced by normal body temperature, increased platelet count, adequate fluid balance, and improved nutritional intake. The study concludes that systematic, comprehensive, and continuous nursing care is effective in improving patient outcomes and accelerating recovery in patients with DHF.
