Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to strengthen cultural identity through a construction documentation workshop, addressing the fading cultural identity. The methods used in this community service activity include outreach, workshops, and training. The activity was implemented as part of the SIMPORA XVI 2025 Expo, involving lecturers, students, business actors, and cultural communities. The activities included outreach, design workshops, exhibitions, and interactive dialogue between academics and the community. The results of this activity indicate that academic collaboration can enhance students' understanding of the importance of cultural preservation, encourage active community participation in showcasing works based on local wisdom, and produce building designs that incorporate cultural values through the documentation of the traditional construction of the Tuha Pucok Krueng Mosque. This activity concludes that strengthening cultural identity can be achieved if universities consistently act as community partners in building collective awareness and making a tangible contribution to the sustainability of local culture.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in Blitar City continue to encounter challenges in marketing. Globalization and digitalization necessitate that MSMEs compete effectively in the virtual marketplace. This service aims to enhance the literacy of MSME participants in Blitar City regarding the implementation of the SOSTAC approach to enable them to compete globally in marketing. The employed strategy is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) to foster active community engagement among MSME stakeholders, with universities serving as facilitators. It was observed that MSME participants, in general, remain unfamiliar with the Digital Platform. The rise in literacy concerning SOSTAC motivates MSME stakeholders to develop marketing strategies and thoroughly investigate the functionalities of the Digital Platform, hence enhancing the involvement of MSME online retailers in Blitar City.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major non-communicable disease and a leading cause of illness and death worldwide, including in Indonesia. A health screening in Gampong Pantee, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar Regency, revealed that 65% of the 40 respondents had hypertension. This highlights a low level of public awareness regarding risk factors and prevention strategies. This community service project aimed to increase knowledge and awareness of hypertension through health education provided by lecturers and students from the Faculty of Public Health at Muhammadiyah University of Aceh. The methods used included coordinating with village officials, preparing educational materials, conducting interactive sessions, and evaluating the participants' understanding. The results showed a significant increase in the community's understanding of hypertension symptoms, causes, and prevention. Participants also demonstrated a new awareness of the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and regularly monitoring their blood pressure. The educational sessions not only improved knowledge but also motivated behavioral changes toward a healthier way of living. In conclusion, this project was effective in raising early awareness of hypertension among the community and serves as a crucial first step in reducing the disease's prevalence in Gampong Pantee.

Abstract

Indonesian language skills are fundamental competencies that every citizen must possess to support communication, learning, and social interaction. However, in practice, elementary school children often face difficulties in mastering various aspects of language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. One medium considered effective, enjoyable, and appropriate to children’s developmental characteristics is children’s songs. Through lyrics, melody, and rhythm, children can easily absorb vocabulary, sentence structures, and communication skills. This community service activity was carried out in Bak Dilip Village, Montasik District, Aceh Besar Regency, focusing on optimizing Indonesian language skills through the use of children’s songs as a learning medium. The implementation methods included lectures, hands-on practice, interactive discussions, and evaluation through singing activities. The results showed that the use of children’s songs was able to enhance students’ motivation, concentration, and vocabulary mastery. In addition, the children became more confident in communicating using the Indonesian language.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a public health problem in Indonesia, including in Aceh Besar Regency, influenced by environmental factors and community behavior. Low public knowledge and awareness of DHF prevention contribute to the high risk of transmission of this disease. This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge and awareness of DHF prevention through health education. The activity was carried out in Lamkawe Village, Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar Regency on May 22, 2025, targeting the village community, especially heads of families and adult family members. The methods used included health education accompanied by discussions and questions and answers regarding DHF and the implementation of 3M Plus behavior, evaluation through quizzes based on the material presented, and the provision of abate powder as an effort to support vector control. The abate powder was distributed through Dompet Dhuafa considering that Lamkawe Village is a fostered village. The results of the activity showed that the community gave a positive response and most participants were able to answer the quiz questions correctly, which indicates an increase in knowledge about DHF and its prevention efforts. Health education carried out in a participatory manner and supported by prevention tools has the potential to encourage changes in community behavior towards a cleaner and healthier environment as an effort to prevent dengue fever.
