Abstract

The rapid development of globalization has significantly influenced modern education systems, requiring not only the advancement of knowledge but also the strengthening of moral and spiritual values. This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic values within modern education systems in the era of globalization. The research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method, utilizing various academic sources such as books, journals, and relevant documents. Data are collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis to interpret and synthesize existing theories and findings. The results indicate that the integration of Islamic values can be effectively implemented through curriculum development, teaching methods, digital technology utilization, and the role of educators as value transmitters. Furthermore, the study reveals that a holistic and systematic integration approach is essential to balance intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development in learners. The implications of this research highlight the importance of developing an integrative education model that aligns Islamic principles with modern scientific and technological advancements, in order to produce individuals who are not only academically competent but also possess strong moral character in facing global challenges.

Abstract

The era of digital disruption has brought significant changes to various aspects of life, including Islamic education. Islamic educational institutions face various challenges, such as limited digital literacy among educators, minimal use of technology in the learning process, disparities in access to digital infrastructure, and challenges in maintaining Islamic values ​​amidst the flow of information globalization. Furthermore, the changing character of students, who are increasingly familiar with technology, demands innovation in learning methods and media. This study aims to identify the various challenges facing Islamic educational institutions in the era of digital disruption and formulate relevant adaptation strategies. The method used is a literature review analyzing various related scientific sources. The results of the study indicate that possible adaptation strategies include improving educators' digital competencies, integrating technology into the curriculum, strengthening character based on Islamic values, and developing flexible and innovative digital-based learning systems. Thus, Islamic educational institutions are expected to survive and develop adaptively without losing their identity and core values.

Abstract

This study examines the interpretation of the Qur’anic verse mentioning the lion in QS. Al-Muddathir [74]: 51 through the approach of tafsir ilmi (scientific exegesis). The aim of this research is to analyze the theological meaning of the term qaswarah, explore the interpretations of classical and contemporary exegetes, and relate them to the perspective of animal science as well as the underlying wisdom. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, using primary sources from Qur’anic verses and classical tafsir works, and secondary sources from books, journal articles, and relevant scientific literature. The results show that the term qaswarah in QS. Al-Muddathir [74]: 51 has various interpretations, such as lion, hunter, or something frightening. However, most exegetes tend to interpret it as a lion due to its relevance to the context of the parable in the verse. The parable illustrates people who turn away from the truth like wild donkeys fleeing in fear from a predator. From the perspective of tafsir ilmi, this depiction aligns with scientific facts that identify the lion as an apex predator capable of triggering a fight-or-flight response in prey animals. Furthermore, the mention of the lion in the Qur’an is not merely descriptive but also contains theological, ecological, moral, and psychological values. The lion serves as a symbol to describe irrational human behavior in rejecting the truth. Thus, tafsir ilmi demonstrates a harmonious relationship between revelation and science, where natural phenomena are used as a medium to convey profound moral and spiritual messages.

Abstract

Islamic leadership faces significant challenges related to personal integrity and institutional governance, requiring a comprehensive theoretical study to bridge these gaps. This research aims to examine the integration of prophetic values with system improvement to strengthen Islamic leadership in the modern context. The study employs a qualitative approach based on literature review and textual analysis, exploring Islamic leadership theories, public administration practices, and historical experiences of Islamic civilization. The findings indicate that Islamic leadership becomes more effective when the personal integrity of leaders is aligned with adaptive, transparent, and accountable institutional systems. These results emphasize that system improvement is necessary to ensure moral values are not limited to individual practice but embedded within organizational governance and social institutions. The study also highlights the relevance of Islamic leadership in addressing the era of disruption, where synergy between prophetic character and institutional reform is essential for sustainability. The research recommends emphasizing the synergy between moral values and system improvement so that Islamic leadership can sustainably address social challenges while remaining relevant to modern demands and contemporary societal needs.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the evolution of Islamic education in Minangkabau and its relationship with the development of knowledge within society. Islamic education in Minangkabau has experienced significant transformations, beginning with the traditional surau system, developing into madrasahs, and eventually evolving into modern Islamic schools. These changes reflect the community’s efforts to adapt educational practices to social, cultural, and intellectual developments while preserving Islamic values. This research employs a qualitative method with a historical approach, utilizing documents, archives, and relevant literature as primary sources of data. Through an analysis of historical records, the study identifies three major phases in the development of Islamic education in Minangkabau: the traditional phase represented by surau institutions, the transitional phase marked by the emergence of madrasahs, and the modern phase characterized by integrated Islamic schools. The findings indicate that Islamic reformers played a crucial role in encouraging the integration of religious and general education. This integration contributed to curriculum improvement, educational innovation, and broader access to learning opportunities for the community. Overall, the history of Islamic education in Minangkabau demonstrates dynamic changes in social, cultural, and intellectual dimensions, leading to the establishment of a more comprehensive, adaptive, and sustainable educational system.

Abstract

The decline in students' conceptual memory demands pedagogical innovations that go beyond conventional memorization, making cooperative learning a potential strategy to strengthen learning retention. This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model in improving students' learning retention at SD Negeri Pandan and to identify the underlying cognitive-social mechanisms. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies, which are analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that the effectiveness of cooperation depends on the consistent implementation of positive interdependence, individual accountability, and group processing. The mechanism of elaboration among peers, negotiation of meaning, and spontaneous social scaffolding acts as a reinforcer of long-term memory traces, resulting in better learning retention tendencies compared to conventional learning. These results contribute to the enrichment of social constructivist theory by mapping contextual variables that moderate the relationship between cooperative structures and memory consolidation in elementary schools, while also implying the need for a transformation of the teacher's role into a collaborative facilitator and evidence-based pedagogical mentor.

Abstract

This article aims to systenatically examine the concepts of language learning and language acquistionwithin thw context of formal education. The discussion begins with an explanationof the principles of learning and language intuctrion that serve as the theoretical fundationfor the language mastery procces. These principles encompass cognitive, affective and social aspect that are interconnected in shaping student’ language competence.  Furthemor, the article describes the differences in language learning characteristics between childern and adults, viewed form cognitive development, level of motivation, and learning strategies osed in comprehending and producing language. In addition, the study highlist the conceptual distimction between language acquistion and language learning. Language acquisition occurs naturally through interaction and exposure in daily communication, whereas language  learning is a planed and systematic process that generaly takes place in formal educational settings. The article aslo analyzes  supporting factors that contribute to the succes of both processes, including internal factors such as motivation, interest, and individual abilities, as well as external factors such as learning environmen, teaching methods, intructuional media, and social support. Understanding these aspects is expected tpo provide a basis for designing effective language instruction aligned with learnes’ characteristics.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has fundamentally changed the landscape of religious communication, including the practice of Islamic da'wah in Indonesia. In the midst of social acceleration characterized by the explosion of information and the existential exhaustion of the younger generation, digital da'wah exists not only as a transfer of medium, but as an ecosystem of religious communication with its own social dynamics. This study aims to analyze the structure of the muhasabah message in Hanan Attaki's da'wah content with the theme Pause, Ramadan Reset, and Spiritual Detox, as well as interpret how the message moves various typologies of social action within the theoretical framework of Max Weber. The study used a qualitative approach with an interpretive content analysis design on video content on @hanan_attaki Instagram accounts during the Ramadan 1446 H period, selected through purposive sampling techniques. The analysis is carried out in three layers: structural descriptive, Weberian interpretive, and contextual critical synthesis. The findings show that the muhasabah message in the content works through a layered mechanism of meaning that simultaneously drives affective, value rational, instrumental rational, and traditional actions. The charismatic authority of the preacher acts as an amplifier that amplifies the resonance of the message, and this mechanism is modified by the digital platform infrastructure. This research implies that the effectiveness of digital da'wah is not solely determined by popularity, but by the ability of messages to activate the structure of meaning that has been embedded in the audience.

Abstract

Makkiyah and Madaniyah are foundational concepts in Ulumul Qur'an that classify Qur'anic verses and chapters based on the period of revelation, whether before or after the Prophet Muhammad's migration (Hijrah) to Medina. This study is significant because it provides insight into the historical context, linguistic style, and thematic content of Qur'anic verses. This article aims to explain the definition and characteristics of Makkiyah and Madaniyah, the methodological bases for their classification, the grouping of surahs, and their utility in Qur'anic interpretation. This research employs a library research method (studi kepustakaan) by collecting and critically analyzing various primary and secondary literary sources related to Qur'anic sciences. The results reveal that Makkiyah verses predominantly contain themes of creed (aqidah), monotheism (tawhid), morality, and eschatology, delivered in a concise, powerful, and rhetorical language. In contrast, Madaniyah verses focus more on Islamic law (syariat), social affairs, politics, and community life, characterized by a longer and more systematic linguistic style. This classification aids scholars in understanding the Islamic legal system methodically, analyzing the relationship between abrogating (nasikh) and abrogated (mansukh) verses, and provides a more precise understanding of the context of revelation. The study of Makkiyah and Madaniyah is crucial for a comprehensive, historical, and contextual understanding of the Qur'an.

Abstract

The surau is the oldest traditional Islamic educational institution in Minangkabau, with historical roots that trace back to the pre-Islamic era before evolving into a center of religious education, intellectual development, da’wah, and character formation. Beyond functioning as a place of worship, the surau also serves as a socio-cultural institution that preserves Islamic values and local traditions within Minangkabau society. This study aims to examine Islamic educational management within the surau tradition, with a focus on educational planning based on local philosophy, the leadership role of the Tuanku, and community-based supervision and financial management that support institutional sustainability. The research employs a qualitative method using a library research approach through the analysis of books, scholarly articles, and relevant documents. The findings show that educational planning in the surau is grounded in the philosophy of Adat Basandi Syara’, Syara’ Basandi Kitabullah (ABS-SBK) and the concept of Alam Takambang Jadi Guru, which integrate religious teachings, customary values, and life experiences into the learning process. Surau management is integrative, where the Tuanku acts as a charismatic leader, educator, manager, and moral role model. Its sustainability is supported by waqf, charitable contributions, and strong community participation. Despite modernization challenges, the surau remains relevant as a model of Islamic education that strengthens character, local wisdom, and cultural identity.
