Abstract

Dalam rangka peningkatan hasil belajar dengan pendekatan pembelajaranefektif, efisien, dan terpadu disesuaikan dengan proses dan kemampuan siswadiantaranya dengan mengadopsi model pembelajaran Metode Diskusi. Hipotesistindakan dalam penelitian yang dilaksanakan siswa kelas VIII-B SMP Negeri 2 GalangTahun Pelajaran 2015/2016 adalah melalui metode diskusi kemampuan siswa dalampembelajaran IPA Terpadu hasil belajar siswa dapat ditingkatkan. Pada siklus ke 2,secara garis besar semua aspek penilaian yang berhubungan dengan minat belajarsiswa terhadap materi ajar mengidentifikasi sistem pernafasan manusia denganpenggunaan pembelajaran metode diskusi mengalami peningkatan. Pernyataan siswa“Sangat Tidak Setuju “ tentang metode pembelajaran ini tidak ada lagi yang dipiliholeh siswa. Secara umum, siswa yang menyatakan “Sangat Setuju” meningkatjumlahnya dibandingkan dengan siklus pertama dengan semua aspek penilaiantentang penggunaan model pembelajaran ini. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas inimembuktikan pada siklus kedua, persentase ketuntasan belajar mengalamipeningkatan. Dari 35 siswa, pada siklus pertama ada 30 siswa yang termasuk dalamkategori sudah “Tuntas Belajar” dan pada siklus kedua mengalami peningkatan yaitumenjadi 33 siswa (94,28 %). Sehingga pada siklus kedua ini persentase kelulusansiswa sudah mencapai 94,28 %, artinya metode diskusi dapat meningkatkan hasilbelajar siswa pada materi sistem pernafasan manusia pada kelas VIII-B SMP Negeri 2Galang Tahun Pembelajaran 2015/2016.Kata kunci : Pembelajaran Metode Diskusi, Hasil Belajar IPA Terpadu

Abstract

The objective of this study is to know difficulties rate of students on biology subjects. This study isquantitative descriptive research. The sample was taken in total sampling involved comprising 34 students asGrade X IPA-1, another 34 students Grade X IPA-2, still 33 students grade X IPA-3, also 33 students Grade X IPA-4,and 31 students Grade X IPA-5. The instrument of provided questionnaire paper with 40 questions. The resultindicated that students got difficulties to study on each . The internal factor as causes go difficulties of students instudying known as factor of intelligence, attention of students, motivation, interest, health as well as. While,external factor cause the students got difficulties in studying seemly tool for learning, environmental, media,method/ strategic done by teacher, and parents.Keywords: learning difficulties

Abstract

This research aims to know knowledge and attitudes toward general biology of FacultyMathematic and Natural Sciences’ Students State University of Medan (FMIPA) included mathematic,physic, chemistry, and biology department. The research was conducted in FMIPA State University ofMedan with population were all of students in education class FMIPA of 4th semester and the samplewas taken by cluster random sampling, by takes one education class in each department. The kind ofthis research is descriptive quantitative. The total of knowledge test is 30 items number was validatedbefore used to students is by expert validator in general biology 2 also test instrument by usingvalidity test, reliability test, and difficulty level test, then there are 15 items number of questionnaire.The result of research are Biology department got better knowledge toward general biology 2 withcategorized less (56.6%), good (26.7%), and very good (16.7%), then continue for chemistrydepartment with categorized less (76.7%), good (20%), and very good (3.3%), mathematicdepartment with categorized less (86.7%) and good (13.3%), and last physic’ department withcategorized less (96.7%) and good (3.3%). Mathematic, physic, chemistry, and biology of studentsdepartment has most neutral for dimension attitudes and less awareness to love environmental.Students’ most favorable attitudes were found toward participating in environmental activities by aninstitution or community is a good thing is very interesting because most of biology’ students agree,then average neural answer for other students.Keyword: Students’ Knowledge, Student’s Attitudes, General Biology 2

Abstract

This research aims to know students' higher order thinking and critical thinking skills on plant tissue topics. The research was conducted in senior high school grade XI Science of SMAN 2 Kisaran,  and the sample was taken by random sampling. The kind of this research is descriptive quantitative. The number of each test, higher-order thinking skills test, and a critical thinking skills test are 30 items. The research results are that the students' higher-order thinking skills of plant tissue topic are at moderate categories. The achievement of students' higher-order thinking skills is at a good level because the value of the higher-order thinking achievement of students in class XI is about 60-69%. The student's critical thinking skills of plant tissue topic is still in less categories. Students' critical thinking skills in this school are at less level because the value of students' higher-order thinking achievement in class XI  is about 50-59%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties of authentic assessment experienced by biology teachers in public high schools in the city of Binjai. This research is descriptive with quantitative and qualitative analysis. The sample in this research is 18 biology teacher taken by using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques are by filling in questionnaires, interviews, documentation and direct observation. The results showed that some of the biology teachers of SMA Negeri in Binjai City experienced obstacles while carrying out authentic assessment. Constraints faced by biology teachers include difficulties in instrument making, difficulties in filling out the assessment format, difficulty in assessing students' attitudes objectively. There are several factors that cause teachers to experience constraints when carrying out authentic assessment that is the number of students who are not ideal, lack of understanding of authentic assessment procedures, training and socialization of authentic assessment has not been maximal, facilities and infrastructure of schools that are less supportive. The difficulty level faced by teachers in the implementation of authentic assessment is quite difficult with the value of 61.01.Keywords: teacher constraints, authentic assessment, biology learning.

Abstract

This study aims to detect the students difficulties in learning heredity topic and the factors thatinfluence on it. A descriptive research design was used in this study to describe the level of students difficultiesbased on cognitive and learning indicator aspect and also the causing factors. The population are taken fromwhole of XII Grade Students in SMA Swasta Harapan 1 Medan. There were 3 classes chosen as the sample byapplying cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used to obtain data were multiple choice test,essay test, concept map and questionnaire. The result of data analyzed showed : (1) On cognitive aspect, thedifficulties are categorized into very high difficulties from C1 until C6 level of cognitive which the highestpercentage is on C6 category as 80,21%, (2) On learning indicator aspect, the students have very highdifficulties in explaining the causing of pseudo deviation of Mendelian Law as 72,32%, (3) Society is the factorsthat categorized as influential in causing students learning difficulties which is 76,77%.Keywords : learning difficulties, cognitive aspect, learning indicator, heredity

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning result and activities by using the cooperative learning model of Talking Chips type on the subject matter of Biodiversity in class X MIA1 MAN 1 Medan T.P. 2018/2019. The research method is classroom action research and the subject of this research are students of class X MIA1 as many as 35 people. The instrument that used in the study are test of student learning result namely pretest and postest as many as 30 questions and observation sheets of student activities. The results showed that based on the learning result of the first cycle, the average score of pretest was 40.6 increased to 68.6 in the postest. At the second cycle, there was an increase from 62.8 in the pretest to 74.5 in the postest. In this study, the data of individual and classical learning completeness criteria are obtained as follows: as many as 30 out of 35 students or 85.72% who scored above 70 or equal to 70, and 5 other students or 14.28% got a score below 70. Based on observations of student activities, the percentage of students who were active in the first cycle was 48.2% with total of students 17 out of 35 students, and students who were active in the second cycle was 80% with total of students 28 from 35 students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kelayakan Lembar Kegiatan Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing (guided inquiry learning) pada materi sistem ekskresi berdasarkan penilaian dari ahli materi, ahli pembelajaran, guru dan siswa serta mengetahui kemampuan berfikir kritis dan ketuntasan klasikal belajar siswa di kelas XI MAN 1 Medan T.P 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan menggunakan model 4-D. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 1 dosen ahli materi, 1 dosen ahli pembelajaran, 3 guru Biologi, 20 siswa (uji kelompok kecil) serta 37 siswa (penyebaran lapangan terbatas). Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah materi sistem ekskresi. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar validasi dan angket. Hasil penilaian oleh ahli materi menunjukkan persentase nilai 91,8% (sangat layak), persentase ahli pembelajaran sebesar 93,75% (sangat layak), persentase respon guru Biologi sebesar 87,56% (sangat layak) dan persentase tangapan peserta didik pada uji kelompok kecil sebesar 76,47% (baik). Hasil persentase rata-rata kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa pada uji lapangan terbatas yaitu 67,33% (cukup baik) dan ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal tercapai dengan persentase 86,11%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar biologi siswa yang diajarkan melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CIRC dan model pembelajaran TPS. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA yang ada di SMA Negeri 1 Siempatnempu T.P 2016/2017 yang terdiri dari 61 orang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunkan sampel total, sebanyak 2 kelas. Kelas XI IPA1 berjumlah 30 yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CIRC (cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) dan kelas XI IPA2 berjumlah 31 orang yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran tipe TPS (Think Pair and Share). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa instrumen tes yang terdiri dari 20 butir soal berbentuk pilihan ganda, yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata postes untuk kelas TPS adalah 39,35484 sedangkan rata-rata postes untuk kelas CIRC adalah 33,5. Setelah dilakukan pengujian hipotesis diperoleh thitung > ttabel (2,13 > 2,00). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan  rata-rata hasil belajar biologi siswa yang diajar dengan model TPS dan model CIRC pada materi sistem sirkulasi dikelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Siempatnempu Kabupaten Dairi T.P 2016/2017.Kata Kunci : Hasil Belajar, Model TPS (Think Pair and Share), Model CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model ProblemBased Learning pada materi Ekosistem di kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei TuanTahun Pembelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalahsatu kelas (31 orang) yang dipilih secara acak dari 5 kelas populasi. Penelitian inimerupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan untukmengumpulkan data adalah tes objektif dalam bentuk pilihan berganda sebanyak 20soal dan lembar observasi. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa hasil belajar siswayang diajar menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materiekosistem adalah 77 ± 1,78. Persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 87,09%atau 27 orang, tingkat ketercapaian indikator tertinggi pada sub materi membedakankomponen biotik dan abiotik (91,4%) sedangkan terendah pada sub materimemprediksi dampak ketidakseimbangan ekosistem (68,97%), serta aktivitas siswatergolong baik (70,95%). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajarandengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dinyatakan efektif digunakanpada materi ekosistem di kelas X IPA SMA Negeri Percut Sei Tuan T.P. 2014/2015.Kata kunci : model problem based learning, hasil belajar, aktivitas siswa
