Abstract

This study aims to identify the various challenges encountered during the implementation of technology-based instruction at MIS NW Pungkang. It focuses on the actual classroom learning environment, specifically regarding the use of media and technological devices to support teaching and learning activities. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Data collection involved participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman interactive model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was verified through technique triangulation. The findings indicate that: (1) the primary challenges regarding technology-based instruction at MI NW Pungkang include limited facilities specifically the availability of only one projector for the entire school unstable internet connectivity, and a lack of digital media training for teachers, resulting in the continued dominance of conventional teaching methods; (2) key obstacles include a scarcity of technological devices, cumbersome equipment-borrowing procedures, unreliable internet connections, and low levels of teacher technical competence; and (3) teachers have resorted to using simple media, such as visual posters, as alternatives to digital media. Nevertheless, students demonstrated a positive and enthusiastic response when lessons incorporated visual media and technology, suggesting significant potential for enhancing instructional effectiveness if the facility-related constraints can be overcome.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid and practical Simple Clock (JASE, Jam Sederhana) learning media for use in Mathematics learning on angles for grade V at SDN Bagu. This study is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this study consisted of grade V teachers and 10 grade V students at SDN Bagu and the object of this study was the simple clock learning media. Data collection techniques used material expert validation questionnaires, media expert validation questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques in the form of percentages. The results of the study showed that the developed JASE learning media obtained a very feasible category based on the results of the material expert validation with a percentage value of 84.72% and media experts with a percentage value of 88.63%. In addition, the results of teacher and student responses showed that JASE media was in the very practical category for use in learning with a percentage of student responses of 99.38% and a percentage of teacher responses of 100%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Simple Clock (JASE) learning media on the angle material for class V SDN Bagu is declared valid and practical so that it is suitable for use as a mathematics learning media in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Ponjurang (Addition and Subtraction Tree) learning media on the numeracy skills of first-grade students at SDN 1 Marong in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 36 first-grade students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using observation and multiple-choice tests consisting of 10 items. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test with the assistance of JASP software. The results showed that students' numeracy skills improved after the implementation of the Ponjurang learning media. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test indicated a significance value of p < 0.05, indicating that there was a significant effect of the Ponjurang learning media on students' numeracy skills. The Ponjurang learning media helped students understand addition and subtraction concepts more concretely, increased their engagement during the learning process, and improved their numeracy skills. Therefore, the Ponjurang learning media can be used as an innovative learning medium to support mathematics learning, particularly in improving elementary school students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

The Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia introduced the Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta/KBC) through Ministerial Decree Number 1503 of 2025, positioning compassion, empathy, and social care as the foundation of learning. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of KBC-based learning methods on the caring character and learning motivation of Islamic elementary school (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) students. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design was employed, involving 62 fifth-grade students divided into an experimental group (n=31) taught through thematic learning infused with the Five Love Values and a control group (n=31) taught conventionally. Data were collected using validated and reliable caring-character and learning-motivation scales, then analyzed using an independent-sample t-test in SPSS. Results show a significant difference between the posttest scores of the experimental and control groups on caring character (t = 5.84; p < 0.05) and learning motivation (t = 4.97; p < 0.05), with the experimental group scoring higher on average. These findings indicate that learning methods integrating love-based values, teacher role modeling, and affective habituation consistently improve students' caring character and learning motivation. The study recommends strengthening teacher training and developing KBC-based teaching modules to optimize implementation at the elementary madrasah level.
