Abstract

The brick manufacturing industry is one of the business sectors that has various potential hazards for workers, especially because most of the production processes are still carried out traditionally. This study aims to identify hazards, assess the level of risk, and evaluate the effectiveness of the application of the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control (HIRADC) method in controlling Occupational Safety and Health (K3) risks in the Kulim Brick Industry. The study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and direct observation of four informants consisting of business owners and workers at various stages of production. Analysis was carried out using the HIRADC method through hazard identification, risk assessment using a risk matrix, and determining control measures based on the risk control hierarchy. The results of the study indicate that there are various potential hazards in the processes of molding, transporting, arranging, and firing bricks. The risks found are categorized as moderate, high, and extreme, with the main hazards being exposure to dust and combustion smoke, hot temperatures, non-ergonomic work movements, excessive loads, and the risk of being caught in machinery. The industry lacks standard operating procedures (SOPs) for occupational health and safety (OHS), adequate personal protective equipment (PPE), and systematic risk control. Although some simple control measures exist, their effectiveness in reducing risk levels is limited. This study concludes that the implementation of the HIRADC method in the Kulim Brick Industry is suboptimal and needs to be improved through the development of SOPs, the provision of PPE, OHS training, and the strengthening of a more structured risk control system.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the growing phenomenon of digital hoarding among female students, characterized by the excessive accumulation and retention of digital data accompanied by a persistent reluctance to delete it. This phenomenon is believed to be closely linked to a psychological condition known as information anxiety, defined as an individual's apprehension about losing information that may prove valuable in the future. Accordingly, this study aimed to: (1) identify the level of information anxiety among female students at Muhammad Dahlan Polytechnic; (2) analyze the level of reluctance to delete digital data as an indicator of digital hoarding behavior; and (3) examine the relationship between information anxiety and reluctance to delete digital data. This study adopted a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The sample comprised 50 active female students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using two Likert-scale questionnaires that had undergone validity and reliability testing—one measuring information anxiety (15 items) and the other measuring digital hoarding behavior (15 items). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis. The findings indicated that the majority of respondents exhibited high levels of both information anxiety (70.0%) and digital hoarding behavior (72.0%). Pearson correlation analysis yielded a coefficient of r = 0.689 (p < 0.001), indicating a strong, statistically significant positive relationship between information anxiety and reluctance to delete digital data. These findings underscore the need for digital literacy interventions and gender-sensitive mental health support within higher education institutions to mitigate the adverse impact of digital hoarding on female students' academic productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to explore kindergarten children's understanding of handwashing habits in their daily lives. Cultivating handwashing habits is a form of clean and healthy living behavior that is crucial to instill from an early age to prevent various diseases. This study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of 10 children aged 5–6 years at KB TK Integral Yaa Bunayya, 2 classroom teachers, and 3 parents as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation and semi-structured interviews. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that most children understand that handwashing aims to maintain cleanliness and prevent illness. The children are aware of critical times to wash their hands, such as before eating, after playing, and after using the toilet. However, their understanding remains simple and concrete, aligned with early childhood developmental stages. This study also found that habituation, direct modeling, and the roles of teachers and parents significantly influence children's handwashing behavior. Therefore, consistent and engaging health education is vital in shaping clean and healthy living habits in early childhood. .

Abstract

Encouraging young children to tidy up their toys after play is more than a simple routine; it is a vital practice in early character development that nurtures lifelong discipline and a sense of responsibility. This study seeks to look closely at how kindergarten children perceive the act of packing away their toys and how they make sense of this daily expectation. Using a qualitative, descriptive approach, the research focused on the lived experiences of children aged 5–6 at TK Integral Yaa Bunayya. Insights were gathered through immersive observations, gentle interviews adapted to the children’s developmental communication styles, and documentation. The data were then analyzed through a reflective process of reduction, display, and thematic synthesis. The findings highlight that most children view tidying up as a way to respect the boundaries set by their teachers and parents, while also taking pride in keeping their play environment clean and orderly. Interestingly, many children showed deep empathy, understanding that putting toys back where they belong helps their peers find them easily and keeps their shared space comfortable. However, for some children, the task is still felt to be less enjoyable, meaning they still rely on the patient guidance and support of their educators. Ultimately, this study shows that when children hold a positive view of these small responsibilities, it deeply enriches their growth in discipline, accountability, and social awareness. For these positive habits to truly take root, a consistent and supportive partnership between home and school is essential.

Abstract

Diabetic foot ulcer sare one of the chronic complication sof Diabetes Mellitus caused by micro circulation disorder sand peripheral neuropathy. They are characterized by chronic, non-healing wounds with a high risk of infection and potential amputation. Proper wound management is crucial for recovery. To apply nursing care in patients with diabetic ulcers using the moist wound healing method with Aloevera gel to improve skin tissue integrity. This study used a case study approach involving one patient treated at Public Health Center. The nursing process was implemented through five stages: assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Interventions were carried out over five consecutive days, including wound care with Aloevera gel, peripheral perfusion monitoring, pain management, and patient education. Evaluation showed improvement in wound condition, increased granulation tissue, reduced slough and pain, and improved peripheral perfusion. Pain scale decreased from 4 to 2,and the patient was able to perform independent wound care. The application of moist wound healing using Aloevera gel is effective in improving skin tissue integrity and promoting patient self-care in managing diabetic ulcers. Structured and educational nursing interventions support the achievement of optimal nursing goals.
