Abstract

This study aims to identify the positive personality traits that teachers need to have, strategies for developing them, supporting and inhibiting factors, and their impact on the quality of learning. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation studies with Miles and Huberman's model analysis. The results show that integrity, empathy, adaptability, emotional intelligence, and enthusiasm for learning are important characteristics of modern teachers. Development strategies include professional training, supervision, a positive school culture, self-reflection, and coaching technology. Effectiveness is influenced by teacher motivation, leadership, and school support, but is hampered by workload and limited technological literacy. The implementation of these strategies has been proven to improve the quality of learning, teacher-student interaction, teacher professionalism, and create a more humanistic, collaborative, and sustainable growth-oriented educational environment.

Abstract

This study aims to map the difficulties in early reading among elementary school students through an indexed literature review. A qualitative method was used by analyzing ten journals indexed in SINTA and Non-SINTA. The findings indicate that early reading difficulties are multidimensional, covering technical, cognitive, and motivational aspects. The causes stem from internal factors, such as cognitive ability, psychological conditions, and specific disorders, as well as external factors, including family support, teaching methods, and the availability of learning media. Effective strategies include structured teacher interventions, the use of multisensory learning media, daily reading habits, parental involvement, and individualized learning approaches. Success in early reading is influenced by early stimulation, continuous practice, engaging literacy corners, and active parental support. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of early reading difficulties and recommended strategies to enhance students’ foundational literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of implementing Project Based Learning (PjBL) on elementary school students’ narrative writing skills through a literature review. The analysis was conducted on five main articles discussing the implementation of PjBL, the use of interactive media, and its impact on students’ creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and learning motivation. The findings indicate that PjBL effectively improves students’ abilities in structuring the orientation, complication, resolution, and coda of a story coherently, enriching vocabulary, and composing well-organized sentences. PjBL positions students at the center of learning, encouraging active participation, reflection, and collaboration, making the writing experience more meaningful and enjoyable. This review confirms that PjBL can serve as an effective strategy to enhance narrative writing literacy in elementary schools while addressing the research gap regarding the application of this model at the primary education level.

Abstract

This research focuses on the critical role of homeroom teachers in promoting student discipline, particularly in the learning process, to achieve optimal educational outcomes. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed in this study. The subjects included the homeroom teacher and students at MI Mathlaul Anwar 06 Pasir Nangka. Data collection techniques involved observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the strategies used by homeroom teachers include setting a positive example, consistently enforcing classroom rules, providing motivation, and applying persuasive methods or educational sanctions. Supporting factors for these strategies include cooperation with parents, collaboration with other teachers, and a conducive school environment. In contrast, inhibiting factors include students' lack of awareness regarding the importance of discipline and differences in family backgrounds. As a result, students' learning discipline improved, evidenced by better attendance, adherence to school rules, and increased engagement in lessons. This study underscores the vital role of homeroom teachers in fostering student learning discipline at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Student resilience has emerged as a critical construct in higher education, particularly in response to increasing academic pressure, mental health challenges, and global disruptions affecting university students. Despite the growing volume of research, a comprehensive overview of the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and global research patterns in this field remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to systematically examine research trends on student resilience in higher education through a bibliometric analysis. Data were collected using Scopus Advanced Search by applying relevant keywords, including student resilience, academic resilience, higher education, and university students. Following a rigorous screening process, a final dataset of 834 journal articles published between 2015 and 2025 was obtained. Scopus Analyzer was employed to examine publication trends, document distribution, and country contributions, while OpenRefine was used to clean and harmonize bibliographic data to ensure accuracy and consistency. Subsequently, VOSviewer software was utilized to visualize co-authorship networks, keyword co-occurrence patterns, and thematic clusters within the literature. The findings reveal a significant and accelerating growth in publications over the past decade, with a sharp increase observed after 2020, reflecting heightened scholarly attention to student mental health and adaptability, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia emerged as the leading contributors, while keyword co-occurrence analysis identified mental health, stress, academic success, and student well-being as dominant and interconnected research themes. The results also highlight the interdisciplinary nature of student resilience research, spanning educational psychology, health sciences, and pedagogical studies. Overall, this bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the knowledge structure and global research landscape of student resilience in higher education, offering valuable insights for researchers, educators, and policymakers, and identifying future directions for advancing resilience-focused research and practice in higher education settings.

Abstract

Indonesian is both the national language and the first language used by all citizens of Indonesia. Therefore, it is important for Indonesian children to master the Indonesian language from an early age. Indonesian language learning begins with listening and speaking skills, and then progresses to constructing correct sentences. As children grow older, the difficulty in understanding words and sentence structures increases. This study aims to examine the Indonesian language teaching strategies to improve storytelling writing skills among fourth-grade students at MI Nurul Islam Jakarta. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with informants consisting of the Indonesian language teacher, class teacher, and students. Data collection techniques employed include observation, interviews, and documentation, with triangulation used to ensure the validity of the information. The results show that the teaching strategies applied by the Indonesian language teacher have been effective in improving students' storytelling writing skills. However, the biggest challenge faced was the lack of material students received in the previous grade, which made it difficult for them to develop story ideas. A supporting factor found was the connection between the material taught in grade 3 and grade 4, which helped the teacher deliver the material in a continuous manner. These findings contribute to the understanding of the importance of curriculum continuity between grade levels and the use of more varied strategies in teaching writing. This study suggests the need for increased use of more creative teaching media and attention to students' foundational readiness in following lessons.
