Abstract

This study aims to enhance student activeness in IPAS learning through the implementation of the Talking Stick method in fifth-grade students at SDN 42 Pekanbaru. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed to determine the level of teacher and student activeness during the learning process. Findings from Cycle I show that student activeness reached the "Fairly Active" category, with observation results of 59.13% and questionnaire results of 59.75%. After improvements were applied in Cycle II, student activeness increased significantly, reaching 91.48% in observations and 96.79% in questionnaires, both categorized as "Very Active." Teacher activeness also reached 100% in Cycle II. These results indicate that the Talking Stick method fosters a more interactive learning atmosphere, encourages equal participation, increases students’ confidence, and strengthens learning motivation. Therefore, the Talking Stick method is effective as a learning strategy to enhance student activeness in IPAS subjects.

Abstract

Taxation constitutes a primary instrument of the state in realizing fiscal sovereignty and supporting national development. Nevertheless, tax law policies directed toward the business sector often generate significant challenges, particulary in term of legal certainty, fiscal equity, and institutional effectiveness. This study aims to evaluate tax law policies affecting the business sector by examining constitutional principles-namely legality, justice, and accountability-while emphasizing the urgency of tax reform. The research employs a normative juridical method with statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. The findings indicate fiskal burdens. Tax reform is therefore essensial to strengthen the constitutional system, ensnure legal certainty, and balance the interests of the state and the business sector.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of perceived masculinity in shaping loyalty to the Surya cigarette brand among men aged 20–30 in Kudus City. A descriptive quantitative approach was used, with 20 respondents, active Surya cigarette users who had smoked for at least three years, participating. Data collection was conducted using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire measuring two main variables: perceived masculinity and brand loyalty. The analysis showed an average score of 4.045 for perceived masculinity and 4.24 for brand loyalty. These findings suggest that the masculine image associated with the Surya brand plays a significant role in shaping emotional attachment and consumer loyalty. Theoretically, the results support the view of modern consumer psychology, which states that consumption behavior is driven not only by functional needs but also by social and symbolic meanings that shape self-identity. Thus, loyalty to the Surya brand is a form of symbolic consumption that reflects masculine values ​​and the need for social recognition among young men in Kudus.

Abstract

Tax is a form of revenue for a country and plays a very important role in maintaining the sustainability of the state. The definition of tax is a mandatory contribution paid by citizens to the government, which is coercive in nature and regulated by prevailing laws, without direct compensation, and is used to finance government expenditures for the benefit and welfare of the people within the country. In practice, however, various issues related to taxation still frequently occur, including its implementation, objectives, and system. One of the major problems faced today is the misuse of authority by certain government officials, where tax revenues that should be allocated to national development and public welfare are instead used for personal or familial enrichment.Another issue in the implementation of taxation in Indonesia is the lack of education and understanding among many citizens—especially those from lower-income groups—regarding the importance and benefits of paying taxes, as well as how the taxation system in Indonesia actually works. Therefore, it is essential to establish comprehensive education and socialization programs on taxation for all levels of society in Indonesia. The purpose of these efforts is to build economic sovereignty and national development through public awareness and participation, which should not only be the responsibility of government officials but also involve the active role of every citizen in supporting the implementation of taxation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of brand image and digital marketing on skin lightening product purchase decisions among young people in Kudus Regency. The use of skin lightening products is increasing, influenced by psychological, social, and digital factors, particularly through social media and influencer reviews. The study used descriptive qualitative methods with simple quantitative data, with a sample of 20 university students aged 14 to 20. The results indicate that digital promotion and brand image are the primary factors influencing skin lightening product purchase decisions. Purchase motivation is dominated by social and emotional factors, such as the desire for acceptance by the community and increased self-confidence, rather than solely the product's benefits. These findings provide important insights for local cosmetics marketing strategies and improving consumer understanding.
