Abstract

A Research of vitamin B1 in long beans (Vigna sinensis L.) analyzed using ultraviolet-visible (uv-vis) spectrophotometry has been carried out at a wavelength of 435.6 nm. Vitamin B1 reacted with bromthymol blue to form a yellow ion-associated complex in an ammonia-ammonium chloride as a buffer solution pH 7.6 which could be observed with a polyvinyl alcohol solubilizing agent. Long beans were boiled in water for 5, 10 and 15 minutes at 100oC. Vitamin B1 in long beans (Vigna sinensis L.) without boiling 0.0981 % ± 0.00021, boiling 5, 10 and 15 minutes were 0.0935 % ± 0.00015; 0.0834 % ± 0.00010 and 0.0743 % ± 0.00010 and the vitamin B1 in the long bean boiled water at 5, 10 and 15 minutes boiling were 0.00102 % ± 0.000004; 0.00110 % and 0.00117 % ± 0.00001. It’s can be concluded that boiling long beans (Vigna sinensis L.) can cause a decrease in vitamin B1 which decreases with increasing boiling time and vitamin B1 in the cooking water increase due to the nature of vitamin B1 which is easily soluble in water

Abstract

Malaria is a disease that is very old from a century ago but is still found today and is the highest cause of death in the world, especially in children. Indonesia is also still not free from malaria. The protozoan parasites that cause malaria in Indonesia are Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax, but currently the prevention of malaria in Indonesia is coupled with the presence of Simian Malaria which is zoonotic and is caused by Plasmodium knowlesi. Malaria prevention requires research in experimental animals to determine effective prevention, to know the pathogenesis of the disease, and the nature of the protozoa, and to be able to determine the appropriate antimalarial. This paper is a literature review that reviews animal models of malaria. The results of a literature search indicated that two animal models of different orders were needed to be able to determine the appropriate antimalarial and to be able to determine the nature of the protozoa in different animal models

Abstract

Wae Apu River is one of the rivers in Buru with a length of 47.25 km with a watershed area covering 2 districts namely Buru and South Buru with an area of 188,511 Ha. Every year the Wae Apu River overflows and causes flooding in the surrounding areas along the river channel. The cause of flooding for this river itself is influenced by 2 factors, namely natural and artificial factors (human activities). The intensity of flooding that often occurs certainly has an impact and loss for the community. Based on the existing conditions, it is necessary to conduct research related to the identification of flood-prone areas in the watershed by mapping vulnerable areas and creating settlement exposure zones which are the most at-risk components. The data analysis method used in this research is the spatial analysis and overlay method, used to provide an overview of the physical environment, flood characteristics and land use using maps in the Wae Apu watershed where each parameter will be given a weight / value depending on the level of importance of each parameter and will be overlaid to get the results of vulnerability. Based on the results of the research, the low flood vulnerability level in the Wae Apu watershed has the largest area of 133,994.7 Ha or equivalent to 73% of the total mapped area. The moderate flood prone class with an area coverage of 49,505.19 Ha or 26%. While areas with high flood vulnerability with an area of 5,011.59 Ha or equivalent to 3% of the area make this class the smallest. Residential areas exposed to moderate flood prone areas of the Wae Apu watershed are around 3,261 Ha or 90.7% and 335.84 Ha or 9.3% of residential areas are located in high flood prone areas

Abstract

The issues of poverty, income inequality, and agricultural productivity are global problems that are still the main focus in many countries around the world. These three factors are interrelated and present complex and multidimensional challenges in sustainable economic development. This study aimed to examine the relationship between income inequality, agricultural productivity, and poverty in Maluku Province from 2018 to 2021. This study used a quantitative approach, and secondary data was taken from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) using time series data. To test the hypothesis, the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method was used in multiple regression analysis with SPSS 25.0 software. Before carrying out the regression analysis, the data is tested first with classical assumptions. The results showed no insignificant relationship between the poverty variable (Km) and income inequality variable (KP). There is a positive relationship between KP and changes in poverty, where the increase in KP is directly proportional to the increase in poverty and vice versa. However, there is no significant relationship between the variables Km and Agricultural Productivity (PP), so the effect of PP on Km is very small. The KP and PP variables have a relationship of 73.1% and an influence of 57.1% on the KM variable in Maluku Province in 2018-2021
