Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of halal certification in increasing consumer trust in the Risol Mayo Bu Jamal MSME, using a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews with the business owner and literature review. The results show that the business owner fully understands the importance of halal certification as a guarantee of the halal status, quality, and safety of the products marketed. The implementation of halal aspects is realized through the selection of raw materials with guaranteed halal status and maintaining cleanliness throughout the production process. Halal certification has been proven to provide a number of tangible benefits, ranging from improving business image, strengthening product competitiveness, to opening up broader marketing opportunities. Moreover, the existence of halal certification also encourages the growth of consumer trust, which in turn increases purchasing interest and strengthens customer loyalty. These findings confirm that halal certification is a key factor in supporting the development and sustainability of culinary MSMEs amidst the rapid growth of the halal industry in Indonesia. Keywords: Halal Certification, Consumer Trust, MSMEs, Halal Industry, Risol Mayo

Abstract

This study examines the role of cooperatives in supporting the implementation of green marketing among natural dye batik artisans in Ciwaringin, focusing on the cooperative's role as an educator and facilitator in developing sustainable businesses. Qualitative methods were used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and literature review. These data were then analyzed descriptively to understand the various activities carried out by the cooperative in supporting its members. The results show that KSU Anugrah Batik actively carries out an educational role through training, outreach, and mentoring that helps artisans understand the process of producing batik using natural dyes. The cooperative also facilitates production and marketing activities through the use of digital media, exhibitions, and strengthening business networks. The development of green marketing still faces several challenges, particularly the lengthy production process, differences in skills among members, limited consumer understanding of the value of environmentally friendly products, and the availability of natural raw materials that are affected by environmental conditions. Various efforts undertaken by the cooperative have had a positive impact on improving artisan skills, expanding market access, and growing awareness of environmental protection through the use of natural dyes. In addition to these educational and facilitative roles, this study also found strong practices of mutual assistance (ta'awun) among cooperative members, particularly when facing production constraints, reflecting the value of mutual cooperation as a fundamental principle of Islamic economics. These findings confirm that cooperatives play a crucial role in strengthening business sustainability while supporting more environmentally responsible economic practices. Keywords: Cooperatives; green marketing; natural dye batik; and ta’awun

Abstract

The global halal industry has transformed into a dynamic economic force, yet studies that comprehensively map its ecosystem remain limited. This study synthesizes Indonesia’s green halal ecosystem through a narrative literature review of 48 selected articles from Scopus and Google Scholar (2022–2026) using content analysis. Findings reveal that the green halal ecosystem emerges from the synergy of Islamic values and sustainability principles that transcend mere technical compliance, with Muslim consumer behavior shaped by the values of qana’ah, i’tidal, and the prohibition of israf, while effective business strategies rest on technology-based supply chains and halal certification harmonization through a triple helix approach. The novelty of this study lies in its conceptual framework that simultaneously integrates theological, consumer, business, and policy dimensions into a unified synthesis, with strategic implications for businesses, government, and academics in advancing Indonesia’s green halal ecosystem.

Abstract

The development of the digital economy provides opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their marketing activities, facilitate transactions, and reach a wider range of consumers. However, the use of digital technology needs to be accompanied by the implementation of Islamic economic principles so that business activities remain based on honesty, trustworthiness, fairness, transparency, and halal practices. This study aims to analyze the utilization of the digital economy among MSMEs in Grujugan District, Bondowoso Regency, and examine its implementation from an Islamic economic perspective. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using field research. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving five MSME owners as research informants. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that MSMEs in Grujugan District have utilized digital media such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for marketing and communication with consumers, as well as beginning to adopt digital payment systems. Digitalization provides benefits in terms of easier promotion, wider market reach, and more convenient transactions. From an Islamic economic perspective, business practices demonstrate the implementation of honesty, trustworthiness, transparency, and fairness. However, challenges remain, particularly limited digital literacy and understanding of Islamic economic principles. Therefore, increased digital training and Islamic economic education are needed to support the development of competitive MSMEs that remain consistent with Islamic principles. Keywords: digital economy, MSMEs, Islamic economics, digital marketing, Grujugan, Bondowoso.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Shopee’s burning cash strategy on the business sustainability of MSME sellers in Cirebon Regency from an Islamic economic perspective. This strategy is implemented through shipping subsidies, discount vouchers, and cashback offers to attract consumers and increase transactions. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological paradigm. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving ten Shopee sellers from various business sectors. The results indicate that the burning cash strategy benefits the majority of informants, particularly by expanding market reach to the national level and into export markets, enhancing store reputation, and driving an increase in sales revenue. Nine out of ten informants experienced an increase in sales revenue, while one informant in the processed food sector did not experience a significant change. This increase did not directly reduce sellers’ profit margins because most of the promotional subsidies were covered by the platform. From an Islamic economic perspective, the burning cash strategy is acceptable as long as it does not involve elements of gharar, al-khida’, and maisir, and is in line with the principles of hifz al-mal and maqashid al-syariah. However, its sustainability must be considered, particularly regarding the equitable distribution of benefits and sellers’ dependence on the platform’s promotional incentives. Keywords: Burning Cash, Marketplace, Islamic economics, Business sustainability, MSMEs.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality and depth of climate risk disclosure in the sustainability reports of six systemic Southeast Asian banks DBS, OCBC, BCA, Bank Mandiri, Maybank, and CIMB based on the four pillars of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD): Governance, Strategy, Risk Management, and Metrics & Targets. This research applies a qualitative approach using content analysis on the 2025 Annual Reports and Sustainability Reports, coded into eleven TCFD sub-recommendations and validated through cross-referencing between document sections. The results indicate that disclosure maturity across the region remains asymmetric: four banks (CIMB, OCBC, DBS, and BCA) achieved the maximum maturity level across all pillars, while Maybank and Bank Mandiri remained constrained mainly on the Metrics & Targets and Strategy pillars due to the absence of PCAF-based absolute financed emissions data and quantitative scenario analysis. The novelty of this study lies in its granular qualitative approach, which detects symbolic and substantive disclosure patterns directly from report text, in contrast to prior studies that mainly rely on aggregate quantitative scores. This study contributes to regional regulators (BNM, MAS, OJK) by recommending mandatory, externally verifiable annual progress reporting on sectoral decarbonization targets as a minimum disclosure standard
