Abstract

Organ transplantation is a medical procedure involving the transfer of organs, cells, or tissues from a donor to a recipient to address organ failure, damage, or dysfunction. This study delves into the legal and ethical aspects of organ transplantation, focusing on the perspective of Sheikh Yusri Rusydi Sayyid Jabr al-Hasani. Employing a qualitative literature review approach, primary sources such as books, journals, websites, and relevant materials were analyzed. The research reveals that Sheikh Yusri Rusydi Sayyid Jabr al-Hasani considers organ transplantation to be prohibited (haram) because it involves the removal and transplantation of organs entrusted to individuals by Allah SWT as a testament to human uniqueness. This act is seen as a departure from the natural order (fitrah) set by Allah SWT, potentially causing immune complications akin to the condition of AIDS patients. It is important to note that organ transplantation is not merely a means to extend life or evade mortality but rather a transformation of one's way of life, transitioning from a blood-dependent existence to a non-blood-dependent one. This study acknowledges limitations in terms of analysis and the applicability of its findings, primarily stemming from its reliance on a singular scholarly perspective. Therefore, it underscores the need for more comprehensive research, particularly in the context of organ donation and wills, to further enrich our understanding of this complex issue.

Abstract

Building family relationships is not just about combining two people of different types. The marriage process can also be interpreted as a merging of functional human values in different societies. Married couples become a part of the social structure which is expected to have roles and functions in society. This perspective is one of KH's concentrations. Hasyim Asy'ari is the founder of Nahdlotul Ulama in Indonesia and a role model for society in the religious life of the nation and state. In order to explore these great ideas, this article thoroughly examines the book Dhou Misbah fi ahkam An Nikah, which is the basis for some people to give marriage advice. This research uses a structuralist functionalist transformation approach within the framework of religious doctrine. This research uses book reference sources which form the basis of thought in the book Dhou Misbah fi ahkam An Nikah and books on religious movements and sociology. As a result, fragments of KH's thoughts. Hasyim Asy'ari regarding the family in its social function is that it must be able to strengthen religious values with local wisdom. Thus, washatiyah Islam is a reflection of values that must be implemented in family life. When starting a family, husband and wife must take a role in building an Islamic society without eliminating local culture. The family must be part of supporting harmony in religious, national and state life.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to respond to the significant research conducted by several Sri Lankan English Novelists and Writers on the desire for identity. To defend and support the study project, extracts and opinions of notable English writers relevant to Sri Lankan literature are gathered from numerous primary and secondary sources. To establish a conclusion and defend the desired study effort on Sri Lankan English Novelists' demand for identity, a variety of international journals, books, magazines, and related material are investigated. The study examines the absence of a unified Sri Lankan identity in both English and Sinhala literary representations of the nation. While Sri Lanka's historical record may not support an inclusive national identity, one must wonder why literature, which is generally considered as a discourse that probes the unexpected and utopian, has failed to provide such an idealistic and inclusive vision of nationhood. The dominance of historical awareness in Sri Lankan (particularly Sinhala) cultural imagination, as well as the usage of realism as a mode of representation, produce a slew of challenges. The supremacy of the historical and realist genres must be seen as dialectically linked, with one strengthening the other: whereas history may serve to establish an authoritative stance for certain identities, realism can help to naturalize them. Sinhalese identity, Sinhalese in English Novels, and Sinhalese in Literature are some of the terms used to describe Sinhalese people.

Abstract

East Java Governor Decree No. 55/2012, which regulates the Development of Religious Activities and the Supervision of Cults, is a response to various religious events in East Java society. This regulation emerged as a result of the physical conflict between Sunni and Shia communities in Sampang Regency, Madura, which resulted in the loss of life and material from both parties involved. One of the implementations of this policy is the relocation of Sampang Shia followers to Jemundo Flat in Sidoarjo, and until now, some of them have not returned to Sampang. In the context of the Sampang Sunni-Shiite conflict, this regulation has been more curative than preventive in its implementation for almost a decade, and from the perspective of public policy discipline, several issues still need to be addressed. This study uses a qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and document analysis accompanied by triangulation. The results show that the implementation of this regulation has contributed to the search for a resolution in the Sunni-Shiite conflict, although there are still imbalances in some aspects. In particular, given the sensitivity of the Sunni-Shia conflict phenomenon, especially in the local context of Sampang, this imbalance is seen in the historical, political, bureaucratic, and sociological dimensions. Therefore, it can be concluded that this regulation is a policy that can be evaluated and has provided results in conflict resolution efforts, but also requires a review to address the imbalances that still exist.

Abstract

This study investigates the interlanguage pragmatic competence of Iraqi EFL learners in the performance of the speech act of complaining. The study explores the semantic components of the complaint speech act produced by Iraqi EFL learners in their interlanguage and compares their performance with that of English native speakers. Additionally, it examines the extent to which social variables such as power and distance influence the performance of the speech act of complaining by both Iraqi EFL learners and English native speakers. The study used a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data consisted of the results of a discourse completion test (DCT) that was administered to 100 Iraqi EFL learners and 11 English native speakers. The qualitative data consisted of transcripts of interviews with 20 of the DCT participants. The findings of the study showed that Iraqi EFL learners use a variety of strategies to realize complaint speech acts in English. The most frequently used strategies were criticism, demand, and complaint. Justification and request were also used with high frequency. Apology and warning were produced with a relatively low frequency. Explanation of purpose was the least used semantic component in complaining in the EFL group. There were significant differences in the mean scores of the semantic components between Iraqi EFL learners and English native speakers. Iraqi EFL learners need to be more aware of the different semantic components of complaint speech acts in English and how to use them appropriately in different contexts. Additionally, teachers should be sensitive to the cultural differences between English and Arabic when teaching Iraqi EFL learners about complaint speech acts.

Abstract

Sustainable fashion, also known as eco-fashion, has emerged as a critical consideration for textile observers and business entities, including Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) involved in Batik production. The primary objective is to foster an environmentally friendly approach and mitigate waste pollution. This study focuses on the utilization of mangrove fruit as a natural dye for Batik in the Karimun Jawa region. Additionally, it explores the perceptions of Batik MSMEs regarding the adoption of natural coloring. A descriptive qualitative methodology was employed, utilizing observation and questionnaires as research instruments. The findings reveal key insights: 1) The natural coloring process for Karimun batik involves mordanting, extraction, dyeing, fixation, and drying through the nglorod process; 2) Three mixtures—lime, alum, and arbor—were employed for color fixation, resulting in faded (bright), rather intense, and dark colors, respectively; 3) Questionnaire results indicate that respondents possess a solid understanding and proficiency in the natural dyeing process. Furthermore, respondents express a commendable motivation not only for economic improvement but also for contributing to a sustainable environment by minimizing waste. This study contributes to the growing discourse on sustainable practices within the textile industry, emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly alternatives such as mangrove fruit-based dyes in traditional crafts like Batik. The insights gathered from Batik MSMEs' perceptions shed light on the potential for widespread adoption of sustainable practices in the broader context of textile production.
