Abstract

A This study examines the association between board effectiveness, audit quality, marketing intensity, and profitability in consumer goods firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2018–2024. The study focuses on nine issuers observed over eight years, yielding a balanced panel of 72 firm-year observations. The main variables include Board Effectiveness Score (BES), return on equity (ROE), advertising intensity, market share, leverage (DER), and Big 4 audit quality. Methods: The analysis uses Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) because the error terms across the two estimated equations are correlated. To assess robustness, the estimations are compared with Huber robust regression and bootstrap OLS confidence intervals. The results show that, within the estimated model, advertising intensity, market share, ROE, and leverage are positively associated with BES. In the profitability equation, BES and Big 4 audit quality are positively associated with ROE, while market share is negatively associated with ROE. Results: All seven formulated hypotheses were proven significant at 95% to 99% confidence intervals. These findings suggest that governance and profitability are related in ways that also reflect firms’ strategic and financial conditions. However, the results should be interpreted cautiously because the study relies on a small purposive sample, a composite governance measure, and an observational design that does not fully resolve endogeneity. The study therefore contributes sector-specific evidence rather than broad causal claims about corporate governance and firm profitability. Conclusion: The findings of this study confirm that corporate governance quality significantly correlates with profitability. These results reinforce the relevance of agency theory, signaling theory, and resource dependence theory in the context of emerging market capital markets.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of work-life balance and job satisfaction on turnover intention among employees of Hospital X. The background of this research is based on the increasing phenomenon of employee turnover intention in healthcare organizations, which may disrupt service continuity and organizational performance. The objective of this study is to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of work-life balance and job satisfaction on turnover intention. This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 75 employees from both medical and non-medical units, using total sampling technique. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The results show that work-life balance and job satisfaction simultaneously have a significant effect on turnover intention (F = 70.525; p < 0.05), with an Adjusted R Square of 0.653, indicating that 65.3% of turnover intention variance is explained by the model. Partially, both work-life balance and job satisfaction significantly influence turnover intention, with job satisfaction as the most dominant variable. In conclusion, turnover intention is influenced by both psychological and work-related factors in an integrated manner. It is recommended that hospital management improve employee job satisfaction and maintain work-life balance to reduce turnover intention. The implication of this study is that human resource management strategies in healthcare institutions should focus on improving working conditions and employee well-being to enhance retention and organizational stability.

Abstract

The global waste crisis, including in Indonesia, indicates that conventional recycling practices have not been fully effective in addressing the growing accumulation of waste. In addition, a gap still exists between environmental knowledge and real action in environmental education, where students’ awareness is often not accompanied by consistent pro-environmental behavior. This study aims to reconceptualize green entrepreneurship as a learning framework for developing environmentally responsible young generations through the integration of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Reflective Learning, and Student Agency approaches. The study employed a Critical Literature Review (CLR) method by analyzing 40–50 scholarly sources from Scopus, Google Scholar, and nationally accredited SINTA journals published between 2021 and 2024. The findings reveal that the implementation of green entrepreneurship through these three approaches can enhance students’ 4C skills, leadership, and problem-solving abilities in creating long-term environmental solutions. The novelty of this study lies in the development of green entrepreneurship as a structured learning framework that is not only oriented toward environmental entrepreneurship but also toward fostering sustainable pro-environmental behavior.

Abstract

Abstract

Tax management refers to a company’s efforts to manage its tax obligations by controlling, planning, and organizing all taxation-related activities in order to ensure that they are carried out effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable tax regulations. This study aims to examine the factors influencing tax management, particularly fixed asset intensity, inventory intensity, and management compensation in primary consumer goods sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2024 period. Tax management is measured using the effective tax rate, calculated as income tax expense divided by profit before tax. This study employs secondary data in the form of financial statements and/or annual reports obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling, resulting in 54 companies selected based on predetermined criteria and . The data were processed using EViews version 14, and the analytical method applied in this research was panel data regression analysis. This study proposed three hypotheses; however, only one hypothesis was accepted. The findings indicate that inventory intensity has a significant effect on tax management. In contrast, fixed asset intensity and management compensation do not have a significant effect on tax management. After the outliers became 34 companies.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the high vulnerability of consumers in cosmetic transactions on TikTok Shop due to a mismatch between existing regulations and the impulsive, algorithm-driven nature of social commerce. The research addresses the effectiveness of legal protection, the distribution of responsibility among platforms, sellers, and influencers, and weaknesses in dispute resolution mechanisms. The study aims to critically examine regulatory gaps and propose policy recommendations responsive to digital developments. Using a normative legal research method, the study analyzes legislation on consumer protection, electronic transactions, and cosmetic supervision. Findings reveal three main issues: current regulations do not accommodate content- and algorithm-based transactions; legal responsibilities of platforms and influencers remain unclear, creating accountability gaps; and internal and external dispute resolution mechanisms are ineffective, leading to high underreporting by consumers. The novelty lies in a holistic analysis of responsibility distribution within the social commerce ecosystem and the integration of algorithmic due diligence and a hierarchical Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) model. The study concludes that consumer protection in social commerce requires a hybrid regulatory approach emphasizing compliance-by-design for platforms, clear legal accountability for influencers, and the development of an integrated ODR system with enforceable authority to ensure effective consumer redress.

Abstract

The exponential growth of E-Commerce in Indonesia has not only boosted the economy but also increased the potential for civil disputes that are cross-border, low-value, and digital-evidence based. Conventional dispute resolution mechanisms are deemed inadequate due to slow procedures, high costs, and misalignment with the nature of digital transactions. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) as an alternative solution. Using a normative legal research method, this study examines the gaps in national regulations (ITE Law, Arbitration Law, Consumer Protection Law) in accommodating ODR, and compares best practices from the European Union, Singapore, and China. The results identify multidimensional implementation challenges, covering legal aspects (legitimacy and enforcement of ODR outcomes), technical aspects (cybersecurity, infrastructure), and socio-cultural aspects (digital divide, literacy). In conclusion, this study recommends the development of an integrated hierarchical ODR model, starting from automated mechanisms on E-Commerce platforms, certified independent ODR, to integration with electronic courts. Policy recommendations focus on three pillars: the establishment of explicit umbrella regulations, the formation of a supervisory authority, and the improvement of public capacity and digital literacy. A comprehensive ODR implementation is believed to restore trust and create a fair and sustainable E-Commerce ecosystem.

Abstract

This study employs a meta-analysis approach to examine the influence of the tourism sector, particularly hotel occupancy rates, on Regional Original Income (PAD). The research applies a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach. Literature searches were conducted through the GARUDA and Google Scholar platforms using the keywords “tourism” and “PAD” within the last eight years. A total of 140 articles were initially identified, followed by an inclusion and exclusion screening process that resulted in 19 eligible studies for analysis. The meta-analysis findings indicate that hotel occupancy rates have a positive and significant effect on PAD, with a combined effect size of 0.333, a 95% confidence interval ranging from 0.068 to 0.597, and a p-value of 0.0139. The analysis used a random effects model with the Restricted Maximum Likelihood (REML) method. Heterogeneity testing showed an I² value of 98.67%, indicating substantial variation among studies. Meta-regression analysis using moderator variables such as year, sample, panel, and journal revealed no significant moderating effects. However, subgroup analysis indicated differences in effect sizes across study groups. Overall, tourism contributes positively to increasing PAD.
