Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing students' preferences for the learning methods used by teachers, evaluating the effectiveness and attractiveness of each approach used instructionally. This study was conducted on junior high school students. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach, with a sample of 40 students from grades VII to IX, taken by stratified random sampling. Data collection was carried out through a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale consisting of three components: preference method, effectiveness, and attractiveness. Data processing was carried out descriptively and inferentially statistically including simple linear regression analysis and ANOVA tests. Among the findings, recommendations were also submitted to teachers to add learning videos, and increase gamification activities, considering the economic and cultural backgrounds of students. In addition, conventional methods such as practicing questions and answering questions still have a fairly large population according to their method preferences. The results of this study indicate that students tend to choose more varied learning methods, this is to support the process of adapting and socializing students with the outside world, as well as increasing students' innovation and creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Project Based Learning (PjBL) approaches in Fiqh learning at MTs. Al Munawarroh Sukaresik Tasikmalaya, and to analyze its impact on students' activeness and understanding. In the context of Fiqh learning which tends to be theoretical, the application of problem-based and project-based approaches is a strategic innovation to increase student involvement actively and contextually. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of PBL helps students develop critical thinking skills in solving everyday Islamic law problems, while PjBL encourages them to produce real work that is relevant to Fiqh material. The combination of these two approaches is able to increase learning motivation, deepen conceptual understanding, and foster an attitude of responsibility and cooperation in groups. Thus, the application of PBL and PjBL is considered effective in improving the quality of Fiqh learning at MTs. Al Munawarroh Sukaresik Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

This classroom action research was driven by the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri No. 102013 Sialang Buah in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Ethics, particularly on the topic of Faith in the Book of Allah. Initial observations revealed that most students struggled to understand the basic concepts and demonstrated low participation during lessons. To address this issue, the study aimed to improve student learning outcomes by applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model, which emphasizes student engagement through individual thinking, paired discussions, and group sharing. The research was conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. A total of 24 students participated in the study. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, teacher and student observation sheets, and documentation, and were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the implementation of the TPS model led to a notable improvement in student learning outcomes, evidenced by increased average test scores and a higher percentage of students achieving mastery from cycle I to cycle II. Additionally, student activity during lessons improved significantly, particularly in cognitive engagement and collaborative participation. These findings indicate that the TPS model is effective in enhancing understanding and fostering a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment. Consequently, it is recommended that the Think Pair Share model be adopted as an innovative and participatory approach in teaching Islamic Religious Education at the elementary level, especially for conceptual topics such as Faith in the Book of Allah.
