Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to find out solutions in managing conflict in Indonesian Islamic education institutions. In particular, Islamic educational institutions in Islamic boarding schools and madrasas have a high probability of conflict compared to other educational institutions. This research is applying qualitative research through library research. The data obtained are compiled, analyzed, and concluded so as to obtain conclusions regarding the study of literature. The results of this study indicate that conflict management becomes very important in managing conflict in Islamic educational institutions as the development of quality educational institutions. In line with this, then what becomes our main concern in addressing conflict is that conflict cannot be avoided. Therefore, controlling conflict is a must in order to achieve goals in Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. Conflict must be managed properly in order to create the goals of higher education institutions. In addition, conflict management is a solution to balance existing conflicts. Keywords: conflict management, islamic education institutions.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i2.202208

Abstract

Objectives: The present study assessed google classroom reception and usage among preservice STM teachers in south-west Nigeria. Methods: The participants were 480 preservice STM teachers purposively selected from four universities in south-west Nigeria within the blueprint of a correlational survey research design. Data analysis was carried out using mean, standard deviation, Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis at 5% level of significance. Findings: Results showed that 94.1% of the variance in preservice STM teachers’ actual use of google classroom was accounted for by a combination of attitude towards use, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and behavioural intention to use google classroom. Conclusion: Conclusively, STM teachers’ educator should promote the adoption and utilization of google classroom among the preservice STM teachers to increase their reception of google classroom for instructional purposes. Keywords: reception, google classroom, stm, technology acceptance model, preservice teachers.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i2.202231

Abstract

How Does Emotional Intelligence Affects Teachers’ Contextual Performance? A Path Analysis. Objectives: This study explores the effect of emotional intelligence on interpersonal communication and teachers’ contextual performance, and how interpersonal communication mediating emotional intelligence affects contextual performance. Methods: A questionnaire collected data through the survey methods toward 230 public elementary school teachers in Indonesia. Data analysis uses path analysis supported by descriptive statistics and correlational. Finding: The results show that emotional intelligence had a significant effect on teachers’ contextual performance, directly and indirectly, mediated by interpersonal communication. Conclusion: A new model regarding the effect of emotional intelligence on teachers’ contextual performance, mediated by interpersonal communication, was confirmed. Thus, the researchers and educational practitioners can discuss and adopt a new empirical model to improve teachers’ contextual performance through emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication in the future. Keyword: emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, contextual performance, teacher.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i2.202222

Abstract

The Effectiveness of Project Based Learning Model on Students' Mathematics Problem Solving Ability. Objectives:The aim of this  research was to describe mathematics learning with the Project Based Learning model on mathematical problemsolving abilitties in class X SMA N 1 Simo. Methods: This type of research was quantitative research. The study took two classes as research subjects consisting of thirty-six students in each class. Data collection techniques were carried out with test instruments and documentation. The design of this research was quasi-experimental by comparing test results from different subjects. The Sampling technique in this research is a simple random sampling technique, which is a sampling technique by taking sample members from the population at random without regard to the existing strata in the population. Data analysis techniques esed include Analysis of Variance Test and Multiple Comparison Test.Findings: The mean of the experimental class and control class, namely the experimental class with the PjBL learning model, is 84.72 while the control class with the conventional learning model is 65.53. Conclusions:The result of this research indicate that class X MIPA 5 which is treated with project based learning model has better problem solving ability than class X MIPA 4 which is treated with conventional learning model.
