Abstract

Coastal area around sand dune on the Bocor Beach potentially used as agricultural land especially melon cultivation. It was located at Buluspesantren Subdistric , Kebumen Distric, Central Java. Cultivation techniques in that land were not green cultivation .The use of pesticides, non-organic material, and plant cutting in the area of sand dune have a potential to damage the environment. This event was aimed to introduce the technique of green melon cultivation so that melon cultivation around sand dune can develop and sustainable. The technique of melon cultivation used in this activity was production of melon superior seed and fruit selection. Melodi Gama3 (MG3) was one of the superior seed which used in this activity. Superior seed was able to reduce the use of pesticides and fruit selection can produce fruit in a high quality. Then the group of farmers trained to use local potential as a substitute for a common material used by other farmers. Palm midrib instead of bamboo, pandanus fiber as a rope replacement, and some other potential materials can be used. Cultivation techniques are transfered to farmers group by training and farmers models. The results of economic analysis indicates that the green melon cultivation techniques are able to increase the income of farmers in the area melon around sand dune. After this event, the farmers was expected to develop environmentally welfare farming techniques in the area around sand dune in Bocor Beach. Keywords:     Sustainable development, melon cultivation, sand dune

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran CTL melalui media flipchart dan media video, kemampuan verbal, gaya belajar dan interaksinya terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus2011 ? Juni 2012 dengan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Pacitan tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 4 kelas terbagi menjadi dua kelompok yang diambil secara cluster random sampling. Kelompok I terdiri kelas X3 dan X8 menggunakan media flipchart dan kelompok II terdiri kelas X2 dan X9 menggunakan media video. Data gaya belajar, prestasi afektif, dan psikomotor dikumpulkan dengan metode angket, serta data prestasi kognitif, dan kemampuan verbaldengan metode tes. Data dianalisis dengan ANAVA tiga jalan dengan desain faktorial 2x2x2 dengan menggunakan software SPSS 18. Berdasarkan analisis data disimpulkan bahwa: 1) ada pengaruh pembelajaran pendekatan CTL melalui media flipchart dengan video terhadap prestasi belajar; 2) ada pengaruh kemampuan verbal terhadap prestasi belajar; 3) ada pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap prestasi belajar; 4) tidak ada interaksi antara pembelajaran pendekatan CTL melalui media flipchart dengan video dengan kemampuan verbal terhadap prestasi belajar;5) tidak ada interaksi antara pembelajaran pendekatan CTL melalui media flipchart dengan video dengan gaya belajar terhadap prestasi belajar; 6) terdapat interaksi antara kemampuan verbal dengan gaya belajar terhadap prestasi belajar; dan 7) tidak ada interaksi antara pembelajaran pendekatan CTL melalui media flipchart dengan video, dengan kemampuan verbal, dan gaya belajar terhadap prestasi belajar.Kata Kunci: Media flipchart, media video, kemampuan verbal, gaya belajar, materi vermes.

Abstract

This research aimed to detect the flavonoid content from the leaf of jack fruit (Arocarpus atilis Park.). that leaf has medicinal aspect, since it can be used to decrease the glucose from the blood circulation and act as anti diabethic activity respectively. The detection of flavonoid was carried out by using thin layer chromatography (TLC) with steady phase of silica of GF 254 and the alluent ratio of chloroform: methanol of 98:2. The result obtained the presence flavonoid complexes at that leaf, indicated by yellow apot ad ammoniac steam on the TLC. That result could enrich the biochemistry learning material toward student. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prosedur pengembangan modul berorientasi POE berwawasan lingkungan pada materi pencemaran, kelayakan modul, efektivitas modul, dan perbedaan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah penerapan modul. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) yang mengacu pada model Borg & Gall yang telah dimodifikasi. Sampel pengembangan meliputi sampel validasi produk sejumlah 4 validator, sampel uji coba terbatas pada 10 siswa, dan sampel uji coba lapangan sejumlah 32 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket untuk analisis kebutuhan, validasi ahli, dan tanggapan siswa terhadap modul; lembar observasi untuk hasil belajar psikomotorik, afektif, dan keterlaksanaan sintaks; wawancara untuk analisis kebutuhan, tanggapan siswa terhadap modul saat uji coba terbatas, dan lapangan; dan tes untuk hasil belajar kognitif. Uji coba lapangan menggunakan one group pretest-posttes design. Data hasil belajar kognitif dihitung dengan gain ternormalisasi dan diuji dengan uji t dua sampel berpasangan, sedangkan hasil belajar psikomotorik dan afektif dihitung persentase ketercapaiannya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: pengembangan modul berorientasi POE berwawasan lingkungan pada materi pencemaran menggunakan model Borg & Gall yang telah dimodifikasi melalui tahapan research and information collection, planning, developpreliminary form of products, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, dan operational product revision; kelayakan modul bernilai 3,3 setelah dilakukan uji lapangan dan berkategori ?Baik?; pencapaian hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kategori ?Sedang?; dan setelah dilakukan uji secara statistik diperoleh perbedaan hasil belajar siswa Kata Kunci: Modul, POE, Lingkungan, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

ABSTRACT- This research is aimed to reveal some misconception in genetic in some senior highschool handbook. Twelve biology books for highschool published during 2006-2010 have been reviewed. All those books show particular pattern of misconception that caused by misunderstanding about particular Mendelian approaches, inappropriate analogy and terminologies.  Those misunderstanding lead to the misconception in the concept of chromose structure, protein syntheses, cell division, traits and mutation. Such misconceptions can be fix trhough the application of representative biomolecular          approaches. Kata-kata Kunci: Misconception in genetics.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was aimed to know the ffictivenness of headmaster's leadership toward theimplementation of curiculum 2004. This research focused on the the integity of the headmaste, his ability onovercoming the institution's problems and his leadership style and related them with the leadership'seffectivenessin in carrying the implementation of the curiculum 2004. This research wqs carried out at SMAN 7fogyakarta, SMAN 11 iogyakarta, SMAN Sewon and SMAN Kalasan. The data collected by anquette wereanalyzed by double regression and Pearson's correlation uslng SPSS release 10. Intepretation was then madedescriptivelly.The results showed that all, the integrity, ability to solve the institation's problems, and the ladershipgtyle of the headmaster, together, afficted the leadership's ffictiveness of the headmaster duringimplementation of curiculum 2004.Key words: Curiculum 2004, imptementation, leadership ffictivenes of the headmaster

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare the un-integrated experimental and lecture teaching methods. In the un-integrated experimental teaching method, the students are given a concept chart first. The subject matter of this research is the movement on plants. This research used experimental method with randomized control-group only design. The populations are the second grade students of SMU Batik 2 Surakarta, year 2002/2003. The sample is 86 students that taken using cluster random sampling technique. The first data are taken from the value of once grade students of a quarter monthly III. They are used to test the early ability of students. The second data are gotten from post test. Data are analyzed using t-test. The conclusion of this research is that the teaching using un-integrated experimental methods is more effective to increase the achievement of students than lecture method. Abstract

ABSTRACT-The aims of this research were to know the relationship between : 1) IQ  with biology cognitive learning achievement of the first grade students, 2) learning motivation with biology cognitive learning achievement of the first grade students, 3) learning facilities utilization with biology cognitive learning achievement of the first grade students.This was a correlational research. The population were all of the first grade students of  SMAN 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012. The sample was taken among 80 samples of student using simple random sampling technique. Documentation method was used to uncover student?s cognitive learning achievement,  IQ was measured by test, while learning motivation and learning facilities utilization was measured  by questionnaire. The obtained data was analysed using multiple regression analysis of SPSS 17. The result showed that there was a significant and positive correlation between learning motivation with biology cognitive learning achievement of the first grade students of SMAN 7 Surakarta, with  relative contribution was 100% and efective contribution was 6,8%. The previous research showed that there were a significant and positive correlation between IQ and learning facilities utilization with student?s achievement, but in this research there were not a significant correlation both IQ and learning facilities utilization with biology cognitive learning achievement of the first grade students of SMAN 7 Surakarta.   Keywords: IQ, learning  motivation, learning facilities utilization, cognitive learning achievement of biology, multiple regression analysis

Abstract

Trend of Learning of XXI century  is full of skills, one of skills is social skill. In fact, learning by rote is the most applicated in junior high school in Indonesia. One example of junior high school happened in VIIIB class of UM laboratory  school. Module system has been applying there. It causes individual learning so that reduces the social interaction and social skill. One of the solutions for this problem is TGT-GI strategy, it is included to cooperation model of learning.  This research is conducted based on lesson study class action. Aim of the research is to improve student?s social skill by application of TGT-GI strategy in VIIIB Class of UM Laboratory Junior High School. The results of this research shows the average of student?s social skills was 19,34 % increased. In wich 32,44 in the I cycle and 38,71 in the II cycle. Based on this result, it was clocluded that TGT-GI strategy able to improve student?s social skills in VIIIB Class of UM Laboratory Junior High School. Keywords:Social Skill, TGT-GI, Classroom Action Research-Lesson Study
