Abstract

The purposes of this research is to improve the science process skills through applying laboratory activity with guided note taking to the students of VIII E class at SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta, academic year 2010/2011. This research refers to The Classroom Action Research which is conducted in 2 cycles that consist of planning, action, observing, and reflecting. The subject of this research is 36 students of VIII E class at SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta, academic year 2010/2011. The sources of the data consist of information from teachers and students, places and events that happened during the process of teaching and learning, and also some documents/files. The data of this research is collected by using observation sheet, questionnaire, interview, and documentations. The data is analyzed in qualitative descriptive method. The validity of data is tested through method and observer triangulation. The result of this research shows that has done in two cyrcles can be concluded that the application of laboratory activity with guided note taking can improve the science process skills in observe, clasificate, predict, measure, conclude, and communicate skills of the student of VIII E class at SMP Negeri 7 Surakarta, academic year 2010/2011. Key Words: Science Process Skills, Laboratory Activity, Guided Note Taking

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to determine the differences result in Sciences Process Skills (SPS) with using Problem Based Learning and guided inquiry of X grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali  in 2013/2014 academic year. This research was quasi experiment research which used Posttest Only With Nonequivalent Control Group design by using the experimental 1 class (application of Problem Based Learning) and experimental 2 class (application of guided inquiry). The population studies are all X class students of SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali in academic year 2013/2014. Sampling technique is using cluster sampling, the classroom that is chosen are X.1 as the experiment 1 class and X.3 as the experimental 2 class. The techique of collecting data is using essay test for measuring of SPS classifying, using tool and material, hypothesizing, formulate ways of working, predicting and communicating. Non-test technique is using methods of documentation and observation methods for measuring of SPS using the tool and material, observing and experimenting. The data were analyzed by t-test assisted SPSS 16. The result of this research concluded that there are differences results between Problem Based Learning and guided inquiry toward student’s sciences process skills of X grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali. Key Words: Problem Based Learning, Guided Inquiry, Science Process Skills

Abstract

This study aims to improving critical thinking skills of student of class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the academic year 2015/2016 through the implementation of Constructivist-Metacogitive model. This research considered as Classroom Action Research that performed whitin 2 cycles and consist of 4 steps namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research procedure refers to Kemmis-Mc.Taggart spiral technique. Data are obtained by questionnaire, essay test, interview, and documentation. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive technique. The main data regarding students' critical thinking skills covering several aspects, namely the interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation and self-regulation was measured using a test arranged by the researcher. Data analysis using descriptive analysis technique. Data validation using triangulation techniques. The average yield of pre-cycle critical thinking skills is 33.71% (low), then increased to 47.6% (average) at the first cycle, and increased to 75.76% (high) at the second cycle. The student’s critical thingking skill improvement have reached the reseach target (≥20%), Thus, application of constructivist-metacognitive models can improve students' critical thinking skills. The results showed that the application of Constructivist Model-metacognitive improving critical thinking skills of the students of class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta.Keywords: Constructivis-metacognitive models, Critical Thinking Skills, Coordination System.

Abstract

Science is a science that learns about life in the world from all aspects. To be able to study these subjects requires a deeper understanding of the material. Application of learning innovations needs to be done to achieve the objectives of science subjects especially by teachers so as to provide hands-on experience for students to acquire innovative learning. Based on the observations at SMP Negeri 1 Bancar known that the results obtained by students less satisfactory. The process of teaching and learning is done by lecture method, when the learning process takes place many students are sleepy and chatting. To improve the learning outcomes in science subjects especially biology required the existence of learning innovation, namely by using Natural Picture learning media. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of Natural Picture learning media on student learning outcomes in science biology subjects in SMP Negeri 1 bancar. The type of research used is Quasi Eksperimen. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Bancar with research sample that is student of class VII A which amounted to 32 students as experiment class and student of class VII E which amounted to 32 students as control class. The research design used was Pre-Test research design - Post-Test Control Group Design. Based on the results of data analysis of learning results, the average value in the experimental class given treatment using Natural Picture learning media is higher than the control class using the lecture method. The experiment class is 87.12 and the control class is 74.37. In the hypothesis test the Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.000, when compared with α 0.05 then Sig <α then H0 is rejected and H1 accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a difference in mean values of experimental class learning outcomes and control classes. That is, there is the effect of learning media Natural Picture on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to identify kinds of fungi that can be found in sweet potato tapai, (2) to produce biology learning resources based on the research result of identification of fungi of sweet potato tapai (3) to find out the effect of the utilization of the   research result based on identification of fungi of sweet potato tapai  as a learning resources toward scientific communication skill of the Xth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 BoyolaliThis  is a quasi -  experimental research that use the true control group design (postest only).  The independent variable in this research is biology learning resources whereas the dependent variable is scientific communication skill.  The population of this research is entire student of the Xth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali Academic Year 2011/2012.  The sample of this research consisted of two classes, control and experiment class. X2 class as a control group and X3 class as a experiment group.  The sampling method using Cluster Random Sampling. The data collecting technique by using observation method.  The test of the hypothesis in this research is using T – test method. From the research, it can be concluded (1) there are two kind of fungy that can be found in sweet potato tapai, i.e Aspergillus sp and Saccharomyces sp.  Both of them have different characteristic.  (2) An outline can be produced  as biology learning resources based on the research result of identification of fungi of sweet potato tapai.   (3) the utilization of the research result based on identification of fungi of sweet potato tapai as a learning resources has a positive impact towards the scientific communication skill of the Xth grade students Key Words: tapai fungy, biology learning resources, scientific communication  skill

Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the influence of the learning model of Experiential Learning with case study of students' critical thinking skills in the human reproductive system material.Research is Quasi Experiment (quasi-experimental) with research design Posttest Only with Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The research population was all students of eleventh (XI) grade IPA SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta academic year 2012/2013. Sampling technique in the study is cluster sampling, with samples of the two classes, there are eleventh grade (XI) IPA 1 with 26 students as the number of experimental class and eleventh (XI) IPA 3 with 28 students a class control. Treatment in the experimental class is the application of the learning model of Experiential Learning with case study and in control class applied conventional learning model with varied lectures. The technique of collection data was using test method (essay) and non-test (documentation and observation). Hypothesis testing is done by using a t-test. The results showed that the average value of the critical thinking skills of students in the experimental class was higher than the control class, which is 64.42 in experimental class and 51 in the control class. The results show the significant value of t test is 0.000 (sig. <0.05), so it can be said that there are significant differences in thecritical thinking skills betweenexperimental class with control class. The research has conclusion that the model of experiential learning with case studygives significant effect on students' critical thinking skills for eleventh(XI) grade IPA SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in academic year 2012/2013 on the matter of human reproductive system. Key Words: experiential learning, learning method in case study, critical thinking skills

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar sistem reproduksi pada siswa kelas IX dan untuk memperoleh bukti bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kelkej dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar sistem reproduksi pada siswa kelas IX. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli – Oktober 2019. Teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi langsung atau observasi untuk mengamati tindakan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kelkej. Selanjutnya pada setiap siklus dilakukan tes untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar sistem reproduksi pada setiap siklusnya, yaitu siklus I (71,24), siklus II (75,43) dan siklus III (76,57). Selain itu juga terjadi peningkatan ketuntasan belajar pada setiap siklusnya yaitu siklus I (57,24%), siklus II (80,95%) dan siklus III (85,71%). Implementation of the group study learning model to improve reproductive system learning outcomes in grade ix students. This research is a classroom action research which aims to improve learning outcomes of the reproductive system in class IX students and to obtain evidence that the application of the kelkej learning model can improve reproductive system learning outcomes in class IX students. The subjects of this study were students of class IX. This research was carried out in July - October 2019. The technique used to collect data in this study is the technique of direct observation or observation to observe the action using the kelkej learning model. Furthermore, in each cycle a test is carried out to determine student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study showed an increase in the average value of reproductive system learning outcomes in each cycle, namely cycle I (71.24), cycle II (75.43) and cycle III (76. 57). In addition, there was also an increase in the learning mastery in each cycle, namely cycle I (57.24%), cycle II (80.95%) and cycle III (85.71%).

Abstract

The objective of research was to improve the questioning and discussion activeness through applying inquiry learning model in X MIA 3 graders of State Senior High School 7 Surakarta in the school year of 2014/2015. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR), each of which consisted of four stages: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The data consisted of student questioning and discussion activeness collected through observation, interview and supporting data from documentation. The data validation was tested using triangulation technique. The data analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative technique. The research procedure employed spiral model. The result of research with  improvement of questioning activeness was indicated by the improved contribution of students based on knowledge dimension in which 13 students posed factual questions, 19 students posed conceptual questions, and 16 students posed procedural questions in cycle I; 26 students posed factual questions, 21 students posed conceptual questions, 2 students posed metacognitive questions, and 11 students posed procedural questions in cycle II. In addition, it was also indicated by knowledge dimension based on thinking process dimension in which 18 students posed C1 questions, 23 students posed C2 questions, 9 students posed C4 questions, and 3 students posed C6 questions in cycle I. 16 students posed C1 questions, 24 students posed C2 questions, 4 students posed in C3 questions, 15 students posed C4 questions, 3 students posed C5 questions, and 10 students posed C6 questions in cycle II. The improvement of discussion activeness was indicated by the increased gain of mean percentage from 63.86% in cycle I and increased to 78.19% in cycle II.The conclusion of research was that the application of inquiry learning model could improve the questioning and discussion activeness through applying inquiry learning model in the 10th MIA 3 graders of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in the school year of 2014/2015. Keywords: Inquiry learning model, questioning activeness, discussion activeness

Abstract

This research aimed to improve the high-order thinking ability of students by applying PBL model in Environment Pollution Material in10th MIA 3 graders of SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo in the school year of 2015/2016. This study was a classroom, action research use the procedure of research employed Kemmis and Mc.Taggart’s (2005) conducted in 2 cycles, from April to May 2016. Each cycle consisted of 4 stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Subject of research was the in10th MIA 3 graders of SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo in the school year of 2015/2016 consisting of 31 students (18 female and 13 male students). Data of research was obtained using essay test on the high-order thinking ability, interview, observation sheet on the implementation of PBL syntax, observation sheet on affective and psychomotor aspects of students. Essay test of high-order thinking ability includes indicators: analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6) based on Bloom’s revised taxonomy. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis technique. Data validation was carried out using triangulation technique. The target of research was the improvement of students’ high-order thinking ability in every aspect of ≥ 23% from based line to the end of research cycle. The result of research showed that the application of PBL model in environment pollution material could improve the high-order thinking ability of students including analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6) aspects consistent with the target of research, by ≥23% from based line to the end of research cycle. The increase of percentage gain in each aspect of high-order thinking ability from precycle to cycle II was as follows: 1) the analyzing aspect increased by 25.16%, 2) the evaluating aspect increased by 26.66%, and 3) the creating aspect increased by 23.95%. Keywords : Problem Based Learning, high-order thinking, environment pollution.
