Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to obtain 1) the understanding of teachers related to Group Investigation-based biology learning tools and critical thinking skills, 2) description of students' ability in critical thinking, 3) solutions to solve teacher and student problems related to group invetigation-based learning. Understanding of teachers and students obtained by interview and questionnaire is analyzed descriptively qualitative. The result of this research are: 1) the understanding of biology teacher related to biology learning device based on group investigation is still less so less optimal learning process, 2) biology teacher still experiencing difficulties in developing learning device so that require socialization, 3) critical thinking of student in learning still less , 4) the need for direction and guidance to develop learning tools. The sample observations in this analysis were teachers and students at SMAN 6 PPU. The results showed that 78.15% of teachers experienced difficulties in developing learning tools. Teacher states that the students in the class less critical thinking by 70.10%.Keyword:

Abstract

Learning biodiversity using INSTAD learning strategy to improve metacognition awareness and student’s cognitive achievement : a study toward student of SMA Batik 1 Surakarta.This research is considered as a quantitative  research, and analyzed as according to quasi-experimental paradigm. The research was designed using pretest-posttest randomized subject control-group. Experimental group was determined and upon which INSTAD strategy was applied. Instead of the non experiment one. Such the aforementioned strategy was conducted upon student of SMA Batik 1 Surakarta as a population. Sampling was taken randomly upon two chosen the X-5 (experiment class) and  the X-4 (control class).  Data was collected using questionnaire, test and observation form. The data were     analyzed by anacova.Results of the study showed that metacognition was significantly affected by INSTAD. However the application of INSTAD has taken effect on student’s cognitive achievement in studying biology of SMA Batik 1            Surakarta. Key Words: INSTAD learning strategies, metacognition, student’s cognitive achievement

Abstract

This research own the target to increase self directed learning the student in biological  study with applying  active  learning of Student-Created Case  Studies accompanied by  Flip Chart  in class  of  XI  IPA  4 SMA  Country  4 Surakarta  of teaching year 2009/2010. This  research represent  the  research of  claas  action (Classroom  Action Research) consited of two cysle.  Every cycle consisted of 4 phase taht is planning, acting, observing, and reflecting.  Subject research is student of class XI IPA 4 SMA Contry  4  Surakarta  of teaching  year 2009/2010. Technique  of data  complier used cover the enquette, observation, and interview.  Data analysis used in this research is technique analisyse consited of the data reduction, data presetation, an withdrawal of conclusion or verivication. Result  of research  indicate  taht  the  applying  active  larning  of Student-Created  Case  Studies  accompanied by  Flip Chart  can improve  the  self directed learning the student in biologycal study.  Make-up of self directed learning the visible student  passing  result  of enquette  and observation.   Mean  assess  the  performance percentase  every  indicator from  self directed learning  obsevation the  student at  pre cycle is 14,68%, cycle I equal to 41,57%, and cycle II equal to 77,73.  Mean assess the  performance  percentase every  indicator from  self  directed  learning  enquette the student at pre cycle equal to 74,40%, cycle I equal to 79,74%, and cycle II equal to 80,29%.  Its conclusion that applying active larning of Student-Created Case Studies accompanied by Flip Chart can improve the self directed learning. Key Words: Student-Created Case Studies, Flip Chart, Self Directed Learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui karakteristik KPS berbasis website Bioenial pada materi sistem pernapasan dan (2) mengetahui kelayakan SPS berbasis website Bioenial digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran materi sistem pernapasan Negeri 1 Teras berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. . Kuesioner validasi, dan angket respon guru dan siswa lainnya, adalah jenis metode pengumpulan data. Teori klasik dan model Rasch digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, bahan sistem pernapasan digunakan untuk mengembangkan website bioenial berbasis KPS. Melalui kegiatan experiential learning, website bioenial memiliki kemampuan mengaktifkan KPS siswa. Ahli materi menilai website bioenial sangat layak (96%), ahli media menilai sangat layak (95,68%), dan ahli pembelajaran menilai sangat layak (89,1%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pengembangan website bioenial berbasis SPS materi sistem pernafasan sangat layak untuk digunakan dan mendapat respon positif dari guru dan siswa. Development bioenial's website based on respiratory system material science process skills. The research aims to (1) the characteristics to Bioenial's Website based Science Process Skills (SPS) on respiratory system materials and (2) recognize the feasibility of Bioenial's website based SPS used in learning activities of respiratory system materials Negeri 1 Teras participated in this research. Validation questionnaires, and other teacher and student response questionnaires, are types of data collection methods. Classic theory and the Rasch model were used to analyze the data. According to the results, the respiratory system material was used to develop the KPS-based bioenial website. Through experiential learning activities, the bioenial's website has the ability to enable students' KPS. Subject matter experts graded the bioenial website as very feasible (96%), media experts graded as very feasible (95.68%), and learning experts graded very feasible (89.1%). The study's conclusion is that the development of a bioenial website based SPS on the respiratory system material is very feasible for use and accepts a positive response form teachers and students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pemecahan masalah berbasis materi pada sistem ekskresi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan model 3-D 4-D yang terdiri dari Defin (definisi), Design (desain), dan Development (pengembangan). Subyek penelitian ini adalah dari 2 (dua) orang dosen sebagai validator tes, dan kepraktisan oleh 1 (satu) orang guru biologi dan 24 siswa kelas XI SMAN 2 Lubuk Alung. Data penelitian ini merupakan data primer yang diperoleh dari angket validitas dan kepraktisan, yang disusun menggunakan skala likert kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian berupa modul biologi berbasis pemecahan masalah tervalidasi yang valid baik dari komponen kelayakan isi (85%), komponen bahasa (83,33%) dan komponen penyajian (75%). Modul berbasis pemecahan masalah yang dihasilkan juga dikategorikan kepraktisan bagi guru komponen manfaat 79,17% dengan nilai 95% komponen Daya Tarik dengan nilai 80% komponen waktu belajar dengan nilai 93,75%. Dikategorikan praktis untuk 24 siswa dari komponen yang menggunakan nilai 86,04% komponen manfaat dengan nilai 88,54% aspek daya tarik dengan nilai 86,46% dan aspek waktu pembelajaran dengan nilai 94,79%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa modul berbasis masalah pada materi sistem ekskresi yang dihasilkan valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA. Development of problem solving-based biology modules on excretory system material for high school. This study aims to develop a problem solving-based module for learning excretion system. This type of research is a research development that uses a 3-D model of 4-D consisting of Defin (definition), Design (design), and Development (development). The subjects of this study were from 2 (two) lecturers as test validators, and practicality by 1 (one) biology teacher and 24 students of class XI of SMAN 2 Lubuk Alung. The data of this study are primary data obtained from the validity and practicality questionnaire, which were compiled using a Likert scale and then analyzed with descriptive analysis. The results of the study are in the form of biology modules based on validated problem solving that are valid both from the content feasibility component (85%), the language component (83.33%) and the presentation component (75%). The resulting problem-solving based module was also categorized as practicality for the teacher 79.17% benefit component with a value of 95% Attractiveness component with a value of 80% the learning time component with a value of 93.75%. Categorized as practical for 24 students from components that use a value of  86.04% benefit component with a value of 88.54% the aspect of attractiveness with a value of  86.46% and  of learning aspect time with a value of 94.79%. This shows that the problem-based module on the excretion system material produced is valid and practical for use in biology learning in high school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi sains siswa berdasarkan aspek literasi sains dan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi siswa berdasarkan soal PISA pada siswa kelas VII SMP N 22 Padang. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif, dimana dalam penentuan sampel menggunakan sampling menurut Morgan & Krejcie, jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 146 siswa. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil soal PISA yang diberikan kepada siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan soal-soal PISA yang diambil dari buku Take The Test: The Sample Question From OECD's yang telah diterjemahkan berjumlah 30 butir soal yang terdiri dari 20 soal objektif, 4 soal majemuk dan 6 soal uraian. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mendeskripsikan jawaban atas pertanyaan literasi sains dan penentuan nilai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa capaian literasi sains siswa dalam tes dikategorikan tuntas dengan nilai maksimal literasi sains 36 dan nilai ketuntasan menurut PISA 50% dari nilai maksimal 18. Capaian literasi sains siswa keterampilan berbasis aspek literasi yang terdiri dari aspek proses sains aspek konteks dengan nilai rata-rata 24,38356165. Pencapaian keterampilan literasi sains berdasarkan format soal dengan nilai rata-rata 22.4473681 dan pencapaian keterampilan literasi sains berdasarkan total skor dengan nilai rata-rata 24,8630137. Analysis of scientific literacy ability of seventh-graders. This study aims to determine students 'scientific literacy skills based on aspects of scientific literacy and to know students' literacy skills based on PISA questions in seventh-graders in Padang. In this study using a descriptive approach, where in determining the sample using sampling according to Morgan & Krejcie, the number of samples in this study amounted to 146 students. The type of data in this study was obtained from the results of the PISA questions given to students. Data was collected by spreading the PISA questions taken from the Take The Test book: The Sample Question From OECD's which has been translated amounts to 30 items consisting of 20 objective questions, 4 compound questions and 6 description questions. The data analysis technique is done by describing the answer to the question of scientific literacy and value determination. The results showed that the scientific literacy achievement of students in the test was categorized as complete with while the maximum score of scientific literacy was 36 and the completeness score according to PISA was 50% of the maximum score of 18. Achievement of students' scientific literacy skills based on literacy aspects consisting of science processes aspects of the aspect of context with an average value of 24.38356165. Achievement of scientific literacy skills based on the question format with an average value of 22.4473681 and achievement of scientific literacy skills based on total scores with an average value of 24.8630137.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan buku saku yang dilengkapi dengan peta konsep materi plantae siswa kelas X yang valid dan praktis. Adapun yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah masih banyak siswa yang kurang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran serta hasil belajar siswa yang relatif rendah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan yang merupakan metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk tertentu. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan 3 tahapan model 4-D yaitu define, design, dan develop. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, dihasilkan media pembelajaran biologi berupa buku saku yang dilengkapi dengan peta konsep sangat valid sebesar 3,67 oleh validator dan praktik oleh guru sebesar 83,75% dan oleh siswa sebesar 86% dengan kriteria praktik. Dan peneliti juga menyarankan agar peneliti lain dapat menjadikan penelitian ini sebagai referensi penelitian, sedangkan guru dan siswa dapat menjadikan buku saku ini sebagai salah satu sumber belajar. Development of pocketbooks equipped with concept map on plantae material for high school students. This research aims to produce a pocket book equipped with a concept map on plantae material of valid and practical X grade students. As for the background of this research is that many students are still less active in the learning process as well as relatively low student learning outcomes. This type of research is research and development which is a research method used to produce certain products. This type of research uses 3 stages of 4-D models namely define, design, and develop. Based on the research conducted, produced biology learning media in the form of pocketbooks equipped with a very valid concept map of 3.67 by validators and practical by teachers by 83.75% and by students by 86% with practical criteria. And the researchers also suggested that other researchers could make this study a reference for research, while teachers and students could make this pocketbook as one of the learning sources.

Abstract

Pembelajaran jarak jauh membuat beberapa aktivitas belajar siswa terhambat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan website berbasis keterampilan proses sains interaktif untuk siswa kelas X Animalia. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan validasi website dari pakar, tanggapan siswa dan guru, dan hasil kegiatan ilmiah siswa. Hasil validitas website sebesar 95%, 88%, dan 89% dengan kategori sangat valid. Respon siswa dan beberapa keterampilan proses sains mereka juga bagus, berdasarkan analisis model Rasch. Selain itu, umpan balik guru baik dengan beberapa saran. Website ini dapat menjadi solusi yang baik untuk mengajarkan keterampilan pengelompokan, penerapan konsep, dan interpretasi data. Interactive website development based on science process skills on animalia for 10th grader. Distance learning makes some of student’s learning activity hampered. This research aims to develop interactive science process skills-based website for tenth grader on Animalia. Research and development method with ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) model is used in this study. The data was collected by website’s validation from the experts, students and teacher’s responses, and students’ scientific activity results. The results of website’s validity amounted to 95%, 88%, and 89% with a very valid category. Students’ responses and some of their science process skills are also great, based on Rasch model analysis. Besides, teacher’s feedback is good with some suggestion. This website can be a good solution to teach grouping, concept applying, and data interpretating skills.

Abstract

The research aimed to improve students’ science process skills through bounded inquiry laboratory model in biological learning process on 2nd  grade of science 2 at SMA N 1 Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2014/2015. The research belongs to classroom action research consist of two cycle and each have four phases, namely: planning, actuating, observing, and reflecting.  Research was carried out on four aspects of the students’ science process skills that includes aspects of measuring, formulating the problem, formulating hypotheses and experimental plan to achieve an increase of 20%. The Subject of this research is 2nd  grade 38 students of science 2 at SMA N 1 Sukoharjo. Sources of data obtained from the teacher and students. Test and non test technics were used to collect the data. It was carried out by using question test science process skills, observation, and interview. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative method consist of three components , namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. Validated through using triangulation method. The method of research was spiral method. The result showed that bounded inquiry laboratory able to improve four aspects of student’s science process skills from Pre-Cycle, 1st Cycle and 2nd Cycle, such as: 1) in aspect measuring (32,00%, 74,48%, 86,57%) achieve an increase of 54,57%; 2) formulating the problem (25,72%, 73,42%, 91,58%) achieve an increase of 65,86%; 3) formulating hypotheses (24,00%, 83,69%, 94,31%) achieve an increase of 70,31%; 4) experimental plan (13,72%, 74,00%, 85,31%) achieve an increase of 71,59%. Therefore, it can be concluded that Bounded Inquiry Laboratory in biological learning process could improved students’ science process skills more than 20% on 2nd  grade students of science 2 at SMA N 1 Sukoharjo in Academic Year 2014/2015. Keywords: bounded inquiry laboratory model, science process skills
