Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the institution of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in Islamic religious universities (PTKI), identify the actual challenges faced, and explore learning strategies that are relevant to the needs of students. Normatively, PAI in PTKI has a strategic position in strengthening the religious character of students and the development of integration of Science and religion. However, there is a gap between the ideality of institutional vision and implementation at the learning level, especially in the face of globalization, academic secularism, and the tendency of religious exclusivism. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of library studies (library research), utilizing secondary data in the form of Pai institutional documents at PTKI, previous research, and the latest academic literature. Data mining techniques are carried out through the study of documents, while data analysis uses in-depth analytical descriptive methods. The results showed that Pai institutions in PTKI faced epistemological stagnation and methodological rigidity. Effective learning strategies include contextual, integrative, dialogical, and moderate approaches that emphasize Islamic literacy towards contemporary social reality. This finding confirms the importance of institutional revitalization and pedagogical innovation simultaneously so that PAI learning can be an instrument for the formation of religious, inclusive, and national character academic personnel.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of Islamic education on students' spiritual well-being and academic performance. This study seeks to understand how the values, teachings, and practices embedded in Islamic education contribute not only to students’ spiritual growth but also to their overall academic achievement. Using a mixed-method approach, the research combines quantitative data collected through surveys and academic records with qualitative insights from interviews and observations. The findings reveal that Islamic education significantly enhances students' spiritual well-being by fostering values such as sincerity, discipline, and responsibility. Moreover, these spiritual dimensions positively correlate with improved academic performance, particularly in areas such as motivation, self-regulation, and perseverance in learning. The results also indicate that students who actively engage in Islamic learning activities tend to demonstrate stronger moral character and academic resilience. This study highlights the essential role of Islamic education in shaping holistic student development, integrating spiritual maturity with intellectual excellence. Abstract

This article explores the integration of Islamic values into public administration studies in Indonesia, highlighting the role of Islamic principles in shaping ethical and effective governance. With over 260 million people and a rich Islamic heritage, Indonesia presents a unique context for the development of public administration that harmonizes both religious and secular principles. The article reviews theoretical foundations, such as the concepts of Amanah (trust), Adil (justice), and Maslahah (public welfare), that are central to Islamic governance. It also examines how Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia, particularly through the transformation from Islamic Institutes (IAIN) to State Islamic Universities (UIN), are integrating public administration into their curricula. The shift in educational structures aligns with national policy initiatives like Merdeka Belajar (Independent Learning), enabling students to gain practical governance experience. Despite progress, challenges such as outdated curricula and insufficient faculty training remain. The article discusses these challenges while emphasizing the potential for Islamic values to inform public administration, offering a model for other Muslim-majority countries in balancing religious principles with modern governance.

Abstract

This study examines the evolution and current challenges of Islamic education policy in Indonesia through qualitative document analysis, a PRISMA guided systematic review, and bibliometric mapping. Legal and regulatory texts, including Law No. 20 of 2003 (SISDIKNAS) and Ministry of Religious Affairs reports, were analyzed using the READ framework to trace thematic shifts. The review targeted 2021-2025 peer-reviewed literature on curriculum, financing, governance, and educator professionalism, with screening per PRISMA. Bibliometrics identified influential works and collaboration patterns. Findings show a shift from centralized control to decentralized, locally adaptive policy. Innovations include integrated curricula, sharia-compliant financing, and strengthened teacher development, yet disparities in administrative capacity and resource allocation persist, yielding uneven quality assurance. The study argues that harmonizing national standards with regional contexts, enhancing inter-ministerial coordination, and embedding maqasid al-Shariah principles are pivotal for equity and accountability. Future research should evaluate digital governance and financing models for scalability and sustained impact.
