Abstract

Environmental justice and sustainable development in Indonesia can only be achieved when communities possess adequate understanding of ecological degradation, structural poverty, and social inequality. Madura Island—particularly Bangkalan Regency—exemplifies these challenges, marked by a low Human Development Index and severe environmental issues. This Community Service Project (PKM) aims to strengthen the intellectual and technical capacity of young academic teams in conducting research on environmental issues and the Blue and Green Economy (BGE), while also promoting environmental awareness among the general public, especially youths in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Through collaboration with pesantren as community-based educational institutions, the project educates students to think critically about local environmental concerns and raises awareness on the importance of sustainable livelihood choices. It is expected that this initiative will foster a generation of environmentally conscious youth in Madura who adopt greener and more sustainable practices in their socio-economic activities.

Abstract

The chicken meat processing agro-industry at the Slaughterhouse (RPA) plays a key role in ensuring safe animal protein for consumption. Processed chicken products are classified as high risk, thus food safety risk mitigation becomes critical. This community service program aims to assist the partner in identifying, measuring, and analyzing critical risk factors in chicken meat production using the Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) approach. Conducted at RPA CV. Satria Jaya in Pasuruan, the program applied both quantitative-descriptive and participatory approaches. Results reveal that immersion before chickens are fully dead, lack of certification among halal slaughterers (JULEHA), and negligence in reciting basmalah during slaughtering are the most critical risks. Suggested improvements include adjusting pre-soaking duration, recruiting competent JULEHA, and developing a process control information system. These findings are expected to support the reinforcement of food safety risk management systems in the partner's slaughterhouse.

The results of the research show that the conservation awareness development process is done by developing participation through group activities as communication media to formulate the cause of environmental damage, and to find problem solving through religious education. Internal problems in developing environmental conservation awareness are economic background, low understanding of the impact on the environment, and low understanding of religion. External factors include provocation from outside the area that affect the community to do forest destruction, high selling value, and the availability of markets that take advantage of theft. The solution to develop public awareness is to improve the attitude of humanism through the socialization of environmental conservation materials and religious education with an integrated approach.

Abstract

Humanist education is a learning model that in practice always fights for the rights of each individual to be able to actualize and explore their potential. In addition, humanist education is here to answer various educational problems that today seem to be a place of oppression of individual intellectuality and creativity because it places students as humans who do not have any knowledge and teachers become omniscient figures who are so dominant. With humanist education, learning is more conducive and provides recognition and trust in the uniqueness of each individual, besides that it can also create a more cooperative and democratic learning pattern. Thus, the practice of humanist education will have a positive impact on the development of the world of education and the statement that education is a place to humanize humans is not just a dream but it can really be realized in the reality of education.

Abstract

There are many sub-districts in Sukorejo, consisting of formal and non-formal institutions. One of them is TPQ and Madrasah Diniah Al Amin located in Sengkanrejo hamlet, Sukorejo village. Regent Regulation no. 21 of 2016 that Pasuruan Regency is obliged to attend Madrasah Diniah, so that each hamlet must have its own TPQ and Madrasah Diniah institutions. However, these regulations have various kinds of positive and negative impacts for students and teachers. Students who become forced during learning, causing laziness and boredom when learning takes place. In addition, seeing the conditions in the midst of the Covid19 pandemic, learning is very ineffective because teaching and learning activities are carried out online. These problems must occur in formal and non-formal educational institutions. The object in this study chose TPQ and Madin Al Amin because these institutions have very minimal competencies possessed by teachers there. Based on the condition of the minimum competence of Madin Teachers, more guidance is needed to develop their competence as a qualified and skilled educator, especially in terms of pedagogical competence. Pedagogic competence is the ability with regard to understanding students, designing and implementing learning, evaluating learning outcomes, and developing students to actualize their various potentials. For this reason, the researcher provides guidance to the Madin Teacher by using a direct approach.
