Abstract

Background: A sudden disruption of blood flow in the brain area is what causes the physical disease known as a stroke to occur. As well as showing symptoms of paralysis on one side of the body, weakness with varying degrees from weak to severe, accompanied by loss of sensation, failure of the coordination system, changes in walking patterns, and balance disorders, the Motor Relearning Program (MRP) is beneficial for the recovery of the patient's motor function. It is considered effective because it can encourage the development of cognition, association, and autonomic nerves and improve standing balance in post-stroke patients. Objective: To determine the effect of the motor relearning program on increasing daily activity in post-stroke patients. Method: The research uses a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test one-group design. There were 35 samples of research respondents who met the inclusion criteria by administering the research intervention, namely a frequency of twice a week for four weeks with an action time of 15 minutes. The instrument in this research used the Barthel index to measure the activity of daily living (ADL) carried out before and after the Motor Relearning Program (MRP). Results: The results of this study using the Wilcoxon test before and after treatment obtained a p-value of 0.000, meaning a p-value of 0.05, which means Ha was accepted. Conclusion: The motor relearning program influences increased daily activities in post-stroke patients.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis cases are one of the degenerative diseases caused by the reduction of joint synovial fluid and the progressive loss of articular cartilage. Currently available therapies focus on symptomatic treatment and prevention of the disease from worsening. In this day became necessitates surgical washout arthroscopy, which is used to clear infection in the original joint or after arthroplasty. After surgery, rehabilitation from physiotherapy is needed to reduce pain, increase joint range of motion, increase muscle strength and restore functional ability. Method:The patient is a 53-year-old woman complaining of pain, weakness muscles and limitation joint range of motion in the left knee after arthroscopic washout surgery 1 month ago. Physiotherapy management 4 weeks of intervention in 2 sessions with ice compress, electrotheraphy with TENS and US and exercise. Result: TENS and Ultrasound currents showed a decrease in sensation felt, increased muscle strength and joint of range motion. The provision of electrical stimulation interventions using tens and ultrasound currents for 4 weeks with 2 meetings in postoperative washout arthroscopy can be concluded to reduce pain sensation, increase the scope of joint motion and increase muscle strength in the hip.

Abstract

This study investigated the effects of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and massage therapy on reducing gastrocnemius muscle pain in 800-meter runners experiencing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). The primary objective was to compare the effectiveness of these two interventions in alleviating muscle pain. We conducted a quasi-experimental study with 40 athletes randomly assigned to either the IASTM or massage therapy group. Pain levels were measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before and after a 4-week intervention period. Results indicated that while neither intervention showed a statistically significant difference (p > 0.05), massage therapy provided a greater average pain reduction (4.0) compared to IASTM (3.5). This suggests that massage therapy may be slightly more effective for managing DOMS. Our research contributes to the field of sports medicine by providing evidence on the comparative effectiveness of IASTM and massage therapy, offering insights that can help optimize recovery strategies for athletes

Abstract

Post-stroke hemorrhage refers to bleeding that occurs in or around the brain following a stroke, particularly after a hemorrhagic stroke. This condition can lead to further brain damage and complications, necessitating immediate medical attention and intervention. Treatment of post-stroke hemmorrage can be given the intervention of the neuroplasticity and motor learning, and Bobath concept. Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections, which is crucial for recovery after a stroke. The Bobath concept, or neurodevelopmental treatment, focuses on facilitating motor learning and functional movement in stroke patients, promoting recovery through tailored rehabilitation strategies. Purpose: The objectives of implementing interventions focused on neuroplasticity, motor learning, and the Bobath concept for patients post-stroke hemorrhage include enhancing neural recovery, improving motor function, promoting functional independence, and optimizing motor learning. Methods: a study using the case report method in a 50-year-old male patient diagnosed with left BPPV 6 months ago. The patient complains of a headache accompanied by a feeling of spinning and lightheadedness as well as muscle stiffness in the neck. Examination of the dix Hallpike maneuver in the patient was positive. Patients were given physiotherapy interventions in the form of Epley maneuvers and stretching exercises. Results: decreased dizziness and spinning sensation at the fifth meeting and stiffness of the neck muscles which were evaluated using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and a 50% reduction at the third meeting which was evaluated using the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI).
