Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycrobacterium Tuberculosis. Indonesia is ranked 3rd largest burden of tuberculosis in the world (8%) after India (27%) and China (9%). The increase in the number of cases in Indonesia continues to increase every year. Although many prevention and management efforts, the spread of tuberculosis bacteria is very easy to spread. This study aims to determine the relationship between hygiene practices and environmental sanitation to the incidence of tuberculosis in the Kesamben Health Center Work Area, Blitar Regency. This study is a quantitative study with a survey design and analytical observation with a retrospective approach (case control). The population of this study was the community in the Kesamben Health Center work area using purposive sampling techniques and 40 respondents were found. Data collection using questionnaires and observation sheets, analyzed using SPSS with Logistic Regression Test with α = 0.05. The results of the statistical test showed that there was a relationship between hygiene practices and the incidence of tuberculosis with a sig value. 0.005 and there is no relationship between environmental sanitation and TB incidence with a sig. value of 0.121. This is because the habit of implementing cleanliness is not practiced, especially the use of masks which are considered to interfere with breathing when doing activities such as working and other activities. It is hoped that further research can develop research related to TB incidence using other variables such as health services, knowledge, PMO and more variables.

A sample of 55 housewives who live in the boarding rooms with their husbands who have a smoking habit were taken using purposive total sampling technique. The research was conducted by filling out a questionnaire and the data were processed using the Ordinal Regression Test. The results of this study indicate that the wife's support for the husband's smoking behavior is mostly in the moderate category, namely 35 respondents or 64% of the total respondents. Meanwhile, the husband's smoking behavior in the moderate category was 30 respondents or 55% of the total respondents. There is an influence between the wife's support on the husband's smoking behavior. This can be seen from the significant value of 0.000 (<0.05) and the coefficient value of the wife's support variable is positive, this shows that the wife's support has an undirectional relationship with smoking behavior. By giving support from the wife for the husband can change his smoking behavior in their boarding house and reduce the smoking intensity of smoking cigarette and in case probably to stop.

Abstract

Contaminated linen can produce large amounts of pathogenic microorganisms. In particular, handling dirty linen is very important to reduce the risk of nosocomial infections. The problems that occur due to nosocomial infections are very complex and can cause losses for patients and hospitals. In addition, unclean washing will leave stains and odors from previous patients so that it can cause discomfort to patients who use it later. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of laundry chemical doses on the quality of cleanliness of medical linen at the kediri district general hospital. The design of this study was an experimental quantitative study with a true experimental post test only design approach. With the focus of the research directed to analyze the effect of laundry chemical doses on the quality of cleanliness of medical linen at the kediri district general hospital with a sample of 74 samples taken using the accidental sampling technique. The findings showed that based on the mann whitney test, the value of 0.000 <0.05 was obtained so that it can be concluded that there is an effect of the laundry chemical dose on the quality of the smell of medical linen at the kediri district general hospital. And also obtained a value of 0.001 <0.05 so that it can be concluded that there is an effect of the laundry chemical dose on the visual quality of medical linen at the kediri district general hospital. The provision of laundry chemicals on medical linen in both infectious and non-infectious categories can effectively improve the quality of cleanliness of medical linen and can be proven by the quality of the fresh smell and the visual quality that looks clean.

Abstract

Background Behind : The high density of flies in RT03 RW04, Kartoharjo Village, Nganjuk District, Nganjuk Regency. Based on the initial survey, the results of fly density measurements were 16 flies from five surveyed houses . Objectives : This study aims to determine the effect of fly density levels on waste management . Methods : The research design in this study is observational Cross-sectional, namely to determine the effect of fly density levels on waste management. Where data concerning independent and dependent variables are collected at once at one time. Determination of Population Number of houses 70. Determination of samples with the formula n = N / 1 + Ne² = 70 / 1 + (70x0.05²) = 70 / 1 + (70x0.0025) = 70 / 1 + (0.175) = 70 / 1.175 = 59.57. Then 60 samples were obtained. The instrument used to measure waste management is filling out a questionnaire with observation while to measure fly density using the Fly Grill tool. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling. The data is analyzed in the form of tables and Chi Square tests. Results : From this study, namely Good waste management as many as 30 (50%), poor waste management as many as 30 (50%). The density of flies obtained was low as many as 28 (46.67%), Medium as many as 10 (16.67%), High as many as 17 (28.33%), Very High as many as 5 (8.33%). Conclusion : Waste management affects the density of flies (significance 0.00 <0.05). Furthermore, suggestions related to the results of the study are the environment of RT03 RW04, Kartoharjo Village and the Health Office (Nganjuk Health Center) to plan activities in order to improve waste management so that it can reduce the level of fly density Copyright © 2018 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan .

Abstract

Giving Brain Gym to children is an effective step to facilitate learning activities and adjustments to daily activities in improving views on the material explained by the teacher and can help optimize brain function. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Brain Gym in Improving Learning Concentration in Children at SD N Tosaren 4, Kediri City. This research design uses a quasi-experimental design ( Quasi Experiment Design ), namely the Non-Equivalent Control Group design . The sampling technique is total sampling. The sample in this study were all 5th grade students of SDN Tosaren 4, Kediri City, totaling 30 children. The independent variable to be studied is Brain Gym and the dependent variable is learning concentration. The statistical test used is Wilcoxon. The results of the study showed that learning concentration before being given brain gymnastics treatment ( Brain Gym) was lacking, namely 19 children (63%) out of a total of 30 children, while learning concentration after being given brain gymnastics treatment (Brain Gym) was good, namely 25 children (83%) out of a total of 30 children. The results of the statistical test showed the Asymp. Sig. value. (2-tailed) before and after is 0.000 so that H1 is accepted meaning there is an effect of Brain Gym stimulation on the concentration of learning of children of SDN Tosaren 4 Kediri City. From the results of the study, Brain Gym is very helpful for children in increasing their concentration to learn. Brain gymnastics can be given in the classroom when children start to get bored with the long delivery of material.
