Abstract

This research aims to describe the organology of handpan musical instruments made by Daniv Veryana in terms of the manufacturing process. This research focuses on Organology as seen from its physical classification, namely, the first criteria of raw materials / basic materials. Second, the shape and size. Third instrument, parts. Fourth, the manufacturing process. Fifth, the tuning or tuning process. This research uses qualitative methods and descriptive type. Researchers in this case made observations through a video of the manufacturing process sent directly by the resource person Daniv Veryana, in order to open the Handpan manufacturing process, as well as through literature studies and utilization studies in order to obtain optimal data by making a complete application and eliminating the findings. The results obtained are showing the process of making an accepted handpan musical instrument: Steel plate is intact, according to size, ring clamp, making the main dome, forming molds for dimpel / mortar and molding ding, hardening steel, tuning or tuning process. then the tools used in the process of making handpanit: hammer, large, hammer, medium, hammer, small all wrapped in plastic and rubber, drums, rings, ding molds, dimpel / dimple molds, ear muffs, steel scissors, tongs, stoves roses, 3kg gas, and canned welding gas. The material consists of steel containing 1mm and steel glue.

Abstract

Sasandu gong merupakan alat musik berdawai yang dimainkan dengan cara dipetik. Alat musik ini berasal dari Pulau Rote Nusa Tenggara Timur. Instrumen solo ini memiliki fungsi peran sebagai pengiring melodi. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran tentang bagaimana Fungsi Sasandu Gong dalam Nyanyian Te’o Renda di Rote Nusa Tenggara Timur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya meliputi wawancara, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini di laksanakan di Jln Lalamentik No 47 Fatululi, Oebobo Kota Kupang dan juga wawancara dilakukan secara virtual call melalui video call, phone call dan juga pesan teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Fungsi Sasandu Gong dalam Nyanyian Te’o Renda di Rote Nusa Tenggara Timur berfungsi sebagai ritual akan hasil panen sebagai bentuk doa dan ucapan syukur kepada Tuhan dan leluhur serta berfungsi sebagai sarana hiburan bagi masyarakat rote. Selain itu berfungsi sebagai estetik, alat komunikasi, simbol, respon fisik, norma sosial, institusi sosial, kesinambungan dan stabilitas budaya dan kontribusi pada suatu integrasi dari kelompok masyarakat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Biografi Tokoh, Kajian Bentuk Musik, dan Makna Lagu Panggilan Ka’bah Karya Prof. Ahmad Baqi. Prof. Ahmad Baqi menciptakan Lagu Panggilan Ka’bah terinspirasi karena pada tanggal 12 Desember 1975 Pesawat Haji berisikan Jema’ah Haji Indonesia gugur dengan penerbangan Pesawat Martin Air. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Biografi, teori bentuk musik dan teori makna. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan kerja laboratorium. Hasil penelitian diperoleh (1) Prof. Ahmad Baqi merupakan seorang musisi dan seniman melayu yang berasal dari Sumatera Utara khususnya di kota Medan. Beliau mendapat gelar Profesor Honoris Causadi bidang musik dari pemerintahan Malaysia tahun 1978. Delapan belas tahun kemudian, tepatnya 1995 Pemerintah Malaysia memberi gelar Datuk yang langsung diberi oleh Menteri Besar Sabah. Dua tahun sebelum wafat ia diberi gelar ASDK (Ahki Setia Darjah Kota Kinabalu) oleh Kerajaan Sabah Malaysia (1997). Beliau dikenal sebagai pencipta lagu Islami. (2) Bentuk pada lagu Panggilan Ka’bah mempunyai pola yang baku dengan menyesuaikan syair atau lirik yang dinyanyikan yang terdiri dari 3 bagian utama yaitu A, B dan C masing-masing memiliki perioda yang masing-masing bagian ditambah tanda (‘). Lagu ini memiliki 233 birama dengan tempo allegro = 155 dan tonika AS = do dan didalam lagu ini terdapat birama 6/8 dimana terdapat 8 bar anteseden dan 8 bar konsekuen. (3) Makna pada lagu Panggilan Ka’bah sebagai tanda berduka dan ungkapan doa kepada jema’ah Haji yang meninggal yang menjadi syuhada.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin masif sangat mempengaruhi model pembelajaran musik. Media yang digunakan oleh para composer atau penulis lagu mengalami pergeseran baik penggunaan maupun fasilitas. Hal inilah yang menjadi landasan program studi pendidikan musik universitas negeri medan membuka mata kuliah komputer musik yang diperuntukkan untuk mahasiswa. Sebagai universitas yang memproduksi lulusan berbasis pendidikan tentulah menjadi keharusan untuk terus mengupgrade pengetahuan dan tata kelola media pembelajaran agar pembelejaran disekolah atau dilapangan sesuai dengan yang diinginkan. Selama dibukanya Mata kuliah komputer musik telah menggunakan beberapa software seperti Microsoft office, encore, reason, audacity, finale, Sibelius dan fruity loops. Transformasi dan perkembangan penggunaan software ini menjawab kurikulum yang berkembang dan disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa. Setiap software mempunyai karakter dan fungsi yang berbeda. Mahasiswa memiliki pilihan di dalam pembuatan musik yang bisa dikolaborasikan dengan mata kuliah lainnya. Misalnya fruity loops yang bisa digabungkan dengan mata kuliah musik tradisi dan musik modern.

Abstract

Tujuannya adalah untuk membudidayakan alat musik sasandu gong sebab alat musik tradisi ini adalah salah satu alat musik tradisi yang digunakan untuk kepentingan ritual, upacara adat, kematian dan acara ucapara syukuran lainnya dimana memiliki makna dan nilai budaya suatu daerah yang harus dibudidayakan di dalam suatu sistem pendidikan, ekonomi dan kebudayaan. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dimana untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang paradigma sosial masyarakat modern dengan minat sasando menggunakan beberapa pertanyaan-pertanyaan. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya pengaruh budaya populer dan adanya perkembangan teknologi sehingga di setiap sanggar-sanggar, tempat kursus alat musik sasando, termasuk di universitas yang ada di Kota Kupang semuanya mempelajari alat musik sasando biola. Alasan lainnya adalah bahwa sasando biola telah menggunakan tangga nada diatonik sedangkan sasandu gong pentatonik yang menyebabkan sasandu gong tidak dapat berimprovisasi secara bebas. Semua faktor diatas akan menyebabkan hilangnya makna dan nilai tradisi budaya yang adalah warisan dan identitas bangsa.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know The Guitar playing technique used in the song Moontan by Andrew York. The research object focused on guitar palying Technique in the song Moontan by Andrew YorkThis research method using descriptive qualitative method. Data obtained by way of observation, documentation, interview, and literature study. The results of this study are the Moontan song which has a tuning called Scordatura. The techniques used in the Moontan song are categorized in 4 Important factor when playing guitar classic according to Shearer, namely Speed, Strength, Color Tone and Economic Movement. The game techniques that can be categorized in the speed of the moontan song are the techniques of Tirando, rasgueado, barre, hammer on, pull off, hammer on with the right and pull off with the left hand. Techniques that require power, use a Hammer with the Right Hand, Hammer with the Left Hand, Pull with the left hand, Slap, and Harmonic. The game techniques that require Color Tones used are the Tirando, Apoyando, and Rasgueado techniques. Techniques that require the Economic Movement on the Moontan song ask for Arpeggio, Barre and Damp String.

Abstract

This study aims to test whether there is an effect of the Kahoot! on the learning outcomes of Harmony. The population in this study were students of the Music Education Study Program at the State University of Jakarta which consisted of 72 students with a sample of 66 students. The results showed that the average final result with the control class was 78.85 with a standard deviation of 5.076. While the average final result in the experimental class is 83.55 with a standard deviation of 4.206. Furthermore, from the test results that are known in the independent sample test table is equal to 0.000. This value indicates that the value is <0.05, so that the difference in results between the experimental group and the control group can be ignored. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is an influence on the implementation of the education Kahoot! on student learning outcomes on the Harmonies material for semester 112 at 2020.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to develop learning media based on YouTube video content in the Music History course, material on the history of ancient music, (2) to test the feasibility of learning media based on YouTube video content in the History of Music course on the history of ancient music, and (3) to find out increased student interest in learning after using this learning medium as an additional source of information for students of music education study programs to understand the history of ancient music. This research and development stage includes needs analysis, planning, development, and testing of use. The assessment and product feasibility test in this alpha test involved 2 (one) media experts. The product trial (beta test) involved 32 students as test subjects. The data in this research and development were collected through questionnaires and interest in learning tests. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative technique, quantitative descriptive, and different test. The results of the research and development indicated that: (1) the feasibility of learning media based on YouTube video content based on the media expert's assessment reached a score of 5.64 with the criteria of "Very Good"; (2) product assessment by 2 (two) lecturers on the alpha test had an average score of 4.78 with the criteria of "Very Good"; (3) an increase in student interest in learning by 4.89. A significance value of 0.000 which indicates that there is a significant difference between the mean scores at the pretest and posttest. So in this case, the use of video-based learning media with YouTube content can increase students' interest in studying music history 1.

Abstract

The Purpose Of This Research is to know how Sarah Vaughan's jazz improvisation of vocal on the song "Lullaby Of Birdland". The object of this research is focused on improvisation in terms of the melody and harmony in Sarah Vaughan's singing. The Research Methodolody used in this research is descriptive qualitative research methodology. The instrument used was the researcher herself. This research was conducted from March 2020 to January 2021 at home, Jalan Sapta Taruna Raya RT 08 RW 10 Blok 23 No. 301, Komplek P.U., Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta. Data collection techniques used library research, audio research, "Lullaby Of Birdland" by Sarah Vaughan’s transcript, and interview. The data analysis technique was carried out by reading books related to the song “Lullaby Of Bridland”, listening, reviewing, and identifying every Sarah Vaughan’s jazz improvisation in it, then researching Sarah Vaughan's jazz vocal improvisations, and conducting interviews with the expert. To check the validity of the data, the researcher conducted triangulation. The Results shows that improvisation was carried out in the introduction (m. 1-4), then in the middle of the song with the accompaniment of the chorus A (m. 68-71) A '(m. 76-79) B (m. 83-87) A ”(m. 91-99), in this section she plays a trade four along with three instrumental players. And the last improvisation was on the coda (m. 116-120). Sarah Vaughan’s jazz improvisation consist major scale, melodic minor scale, major pentatonic scale, minor pentatonic scale, blues minor pentatonic scale, Ionian and Aeolian modes, then arpeggios, and major licks.
