Abstract

Ketapang leaves (Terminalia catappa L.) is a plant that contains chemical compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, triterpenoids or steroids, resins, and saponins. This compound has potential as an antioxidant in absorbing and neutralizing free radicals. This study aims to determine the levels of flavonoid compounds, to determine whether the ethanol extract of ketapang leaves has antioxidant activity as expressed by the IC50 value and to determine the antioxidant power of the ethanol extract of ketapang leaves. The extract was prepared by maceration method using 96% ethanol. Determination of flavonoid levels and antioxidant activity was carried out using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Antioxidant activity based on the free radical scavenging ability of the compound ABTS was measured at a wavelength of 740 nm at 17 minutes. The results of determining the levels of flavonoids in the ethanol extract of ketapang leaves were 17,710 QE. Antioxidant activity is expressed in the value of 50% Inhibitory Concentration (IC50) with a yield of 23.531 ppm in ethanol extract. Ketapang leaf ethanol extract has a very strong antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Jicama tubers (Pachyrhizus erosus) contain antioxidants, including vitamin C, flavonoids, saponins, phenolic compounds. In this study the aims were to formulate and evaluate the stability of a body scrub cream of jicama starch with varying concentrations of 16%, 15, and 14% stearic acid emulsifiers, and 2%, 3%, and 4% triethanolamine. This research method was carried out in a laboratory experiment to determine variations in the concentration of stearic acid and triethanolamine emulsifiers. In addition, observations were made to evaluate the physical quality of the organoleptic test preparations, homogeneity, pH, emulsion type, and physical stability using the accelerated cycling test method. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of different concentrations of stearic acid and triethanolamine on FI which has a denser form than FII and FIII, after 6 storage cycles FII and FIII change color to yellowish white. This shows that the formulation has the best properties for body scrub cream preparations, is stable and meets the requirements based on organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests with a standard facial skin pH of 4.5-7, emulsion type tests, and 12-day stability tests. phase completion occurs, namely FI with a concentration of 16% stearic acid and 2% triethanolamine.

Abstract

Cesarean section is an artificial birth through an open abdominal incision (laparotomy) and an incision in the uterus (hysterotomy). Included in the type of clean contaminated surgery that requires the use of prophylactic antibiotics to prevent infection of the operating area. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the appropriate use of prophylactic antibiotics in cesarean section patients at X Hospital, Cianjur Regency. This research was conducted using a non-experimental method, accompanied by a descriptive observational analysis design based on retrospective data from the medical records of cesarean section patients at X Hospital, Cianjur Regency. Based on the results of a study of 70 samples, it was found that the prevalence of C-sections at X Hospital Cianjur Regency for the periods of October-December 2022 period was mostly carried out in the age range of 17-30% (44.29%). The prophylactic antibiotics used were cefotaxime (58.57%), cefazolin (31.43%), and ceftriaxone (10%). The selection of the type of antibiotic and the method of administration was 100% correct according to the reference used. However, during dosing, 48 samples (68.57%) received the correct dose, and 22 samples (31.43%) did not receive the correct dosage regimen according to the reference used. Timing of prophylactic antibiotic administration for C-sections should be completed within 60 minutes before the initial incision, preferably at the time of induction of anesthesia. Because giving prophylactic antibiotics 30 to 59 minutes before the initial incision can reduce the risk of infection of the operating area.

Abstract

Essence is a skin care product that is part of skincare. It is water-based and works to moisturize, protect and promote overall skin health. Red spinach leaves (Amaranthus Tricolor L.) is a plant that contains high antioxidants, which can be used as skin care products. The purpose of this study was to carry out the formulation and physical stability test of essence preparations using the cycling test method. This study used an experimental method, namely the extract was obtained using the maceration method, then formulated into an essence preparation consisting of PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, butylene glycol, glycerin, xanthan gum, methyl paraben, 96% ethanol, distilled water, and the addition of spinach leaf extract. red with concentrations of F1(0.5%), F2(0.9%), F3(1.3%) respectively. As a blank (F0) for essence preparations without the addition of extracts. 96% ethanol extract of red spinach leaves (Amaranthus Tricolor L.) can be formulated into essence products with concentrations of 0.5%, 0.9% and 1.3%. Stability testing using the accelerated method/cycling test on essence products showed stable results, because there was no change in odor, color and dosage form. The best formulation is formulation 3 with an active substance concentration of 1.3% where the pH value is 5.9 and the viscosity value is 270 mPa.S. these results meet the range of pH requirements needed by facial skin where a good pH requirement for facial skin is 4.5-6 and also meets the standard essence viscosity requirements, namely 230-1150 cPs (230-1150 m.Pa.S).

Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country where it is very possible for the skin to continue to be exposed to sunlight. Free radicals in the form of ultraviolet rays from the sun when excess will cause damage to the skin. Prevention of adverse effects due to sun exposure can be done by using sunscreen. One of the most common sunscreen products is lotion. The use of lotions that contain antioxidants can be done to make it easier to protect the skin from exposure to free radicals. One of the plants that has antioxidant activity is kecombrang leaves. The purpose of this study was to determine the SPF (Sun Protection Factor) value of kecombrang leaf extract lotion (Etlingera elatior) using the Uv-vis spectrophotometry method. The results showed that F1, F2 and F3 had SPF values. F3 at a concentration of 800 ppm has the highest SPF value of 18.59 and is included in the ultraprotection category.

Abstract

Along with the development of cosmetics, one of them is lip coloring in recent years, namely liptint. Lip color manufacturers favor the use of synthetic colors that contain harmful heavy metals because they are more affordable, stronger, more consistent, and more stable. However, heavy metals can have a negative effect on health such as hives, asthma, and even cancer. This study aims to determine how much heavy metal cadmium and lead are contamined in Peiyen Unicorn lip tint which is sold in online stores using atomic absorption spectrophotometry research methods. The results of this study were cadmium heavy metal contamination in Peiyen Unicorn liptint number 1 shade red and shade cherry red number 2 respectively ie 0.032 mg/kg and 0.025 mg/kg and results of lead heavy metal contamination in Peiyen Unicorn liptint sample number 1 shade red and number 2 shade cherry red respectively 0.004 mg/kg and 0.002 mg/kg. The test results for the cadmium heavy metal content in the two lipsticks still met the requirements, namely not more than 5 mg/kg according to the regulations of the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency. The results of the lead heavy metal test for the two lipsticks still met the requirements, namely not more than 20 mg/kg according to the regulations of the Food and Drug Administration. Based on the results of data analysis using ANOVA, it can be concluded that there was no difference in the levels of the heavy metals cadmium and lead between the Peiyen Unicorn lipstick samples number 1 shade red and shade number 2 cherry red.

Abstract

Hand and body lotion is a beauty care product that is used for the body and hands to maintain moisture. Moringa leaves (Moringa Oleifera Lam) contain many free radical inhibitor molecules and several other endogenous metabolites that are rich in antioxidant activity. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity in hand and body lotion formulations with varying concentrations of 70% ethanol extract of Moringa leaves (Moringa Oleifera Lam). The method of this research was the phytochemical testing of 70% ethanol extract of Moringa leaves (Moringa Oleifera Lam) and hand and body lotion formulations of 70% ethanol extract of Moringa leaves (Moringa Oleifera Lam) with four formulations of hand and body lotion, namely F0 (negative control) F1 (2%), F2 (3%), and F3 (4%). Furthermore, tests were carried out on hand and body lotion preparations, including organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, viscosity and antiscaldant activity tests. Based on research results, 70% ethanol extract of Moringa leaves (Moringa Oleifera Lam) contains alkaloids, tannins, saponins, and steroids. In the homogeneity test, all formulas met the homogeneity requirements. All formulas produce the same pH, which is 6, which can be said to meet the standard skin pH requirements. In the spreadability and adhesion tests, all formulas met the standard requirements of the stickiness test and spreadability test. In F2 with a concentration of 3%, the viscosity test decreased slightly, namely 1667 MS. Whereas in testing the antioxidant activity of all formulas, they are in the weak antioxidant category, namely the IC50 results are at a value of 250-500 Ppm.

Abstract

So far, the basil plant (Ocimum sanctum L.) has been used by the community as a fresh vegetable to overcome the problem of bad breath. Ethanol extract in basil can inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria in the mouth. This study aims to make lozenges of basil extract with different concentrations of CMC-Na as a binder and to determine the effect of CMC-Na concentrations on the physical properties of lozenges. Lozenges were made by the wet granulation method with 0% CMC-Na binder variation for formula I; 1% for formula II; 3% for formula III; 5% for formula IV; 7% for formula V. Granules are compressed using a single punch tablet machine. The results showed that the use of CMC-Na as a binder in the manufacture of lozenges of basil extract in all formulas produced lozenges that met the requirements, except for formulas I and II. The best hardness test results were in formula V, with a value of 5.28 kg/cm2, while the best friability test was in formula IV, with a value of 0.32%. The best dissolving time test results were in formula V with a dissolving time of 6 minutes 33 seconds. The results of the taste response test showed that formula V had the most delicious taste response. The effect of binder concentration can affect the physical properties of the tablet. Variations in the binder influence each formula. The greater the binder, the greater the level of hardness increases.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where there is an increase in blood pressure that exceeds normal limits, namely systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of more than 90 mmHg. The use of appropriate antihypertensive drugs is one of the keys to successful treatment of hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the type of antihypertensive used in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta and its quantity calculated using the ATC/DDD method. This research is a descriptive study with retrospective data collection. Data on the use of antihypertensive drugs during 2022 will be taken from the pharmacy installation unit of RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta and then will be processed to determine the type and quantity in DDD units. Data on antihypertensive use will be processed using Microsoft Excel, then compiled in tabular format. In addition to data on antihypertensive use, data will also be collected on outpatient visits every month during 2022 to calculate the quantity of antihypertensive use in DDD units/1000 outpatient visits. The results showed that the antihypertensive drugs used in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta per month in 2022 are amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide, candesartan, captopril, and lisinopril and the quantity of antihypertensive drug use from January to December in 2022 with an average quantity of use from January to December is amlodipine 32,020.27 DDD/1000 KPRJ, hydrochlorothiazide 972.14 DDD/1000 KPRJ, candesartan 36,192.85 DDD/1000 KPRJ, captopril 544.68 DDD/1000 KPRJ, and lisinopril 1,524.08 DDD/1000 KPRJ. Drugs included in the 90% DU segment are amlodipine and candesartan.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an assessment of a patient between service performance or perceived and expected satisfaction. Patient satisfaction will be fulfilled if the services provided are in accordance with patient expectations. Assessment of satisfaction is not only limited to physical recovery, but also from communication, physical facilities, friendliness of staff, responsiveness of officers in serving patients. This study aims to evaluate outpatient patient satisfaction with the quality of pharmacy services at the X Hospital, Klaten Regency. This research was conducted using the Service Quality (SERQUAL) method which has five dimensions, namely tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. The results of this study are questionnaire data from 380 respondents getting results from the five dimensions of service quality consisting of 25 questions having a positive gap value. The highest gap value is 0.13 on the responsiveness dimension and the lowest gap value is 0.04 on the tangible dimension. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the services provided by the X Klaten hospital to patients can be said to be good, and the results of these measurements can be used as an evaluation in improving the quality of hospital.
