Abstract

This study aims to examine the form, function, meaning, and religious educational values of the Baris Jojor Dance performance during the piodalan ceremony at Pura Bale Agung, Desa Pakraman Sekardadi, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a religious approach oriented toward phenomenological, theological, and socio-humanistic understanding. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The findings reveal that the Baris Jojor Dance is a sacred performance (seni wali) traditionally presented in the Dewa Yajña ritual, performed by eight male dancers carrying long spears as symbols of warrior virtues. The functions of Baris Jojor encompass religious dimensions as sacred offerings, social functions as community solidarity, educational roles in character formation, and cultural significance as a medium of heritage transmission. Its meanings reflect the triumph of dharma over adharma, cosmic harmony, and spiritual communication between humans and the divine. The religious educational values embedded include tattwa (philosophy), susila (ethics), and upakara (ritual practice), along with cultural inheritance for younger generations. Thus, the Baris Jojor Dance contributes significantly to strengthening spirituality, morality, and cultural identity within Balinese Hindu society.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of guidance and counseling services in Malaysian elementary schools and to identify adaptation ideas that may be applied in other countries. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at Sekolah Kebangsaan Telok Panglima Garang, Selangor, Malaysia. Data were collected through interviews with classroom teachers and documentation of counseling programs, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and contextual description. The findings indicate that guidance and counseling in Malaysian elementary schools are carried out professionally by Full-Time Guidance and Counseling Teachers (Guru Bimbingan dan Kaunseling Sepenuh Masa / GBKSM) using holistic, preventive, and collaborative approaches. Innovative programs such as mentor-mentee, peer counseling, and the utilization of digital counseling have proven effective in supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social development. The success of the implementation is further strengthened by curriculum integration, the establishment of counseling units, national guidelines, as well as active involvement of parents and the community. The study recommends several adoption strategies, including the placement of specialized counseling teachers in elementary schools, integration of counseling services into the curriculum, teacher capacity building, the use of technology, and modifications tailored to local cultural contexts. These findings emphasize that guidance and counseling services play a crucial role in fostering inclusive, high-quality, and sustainable primary education.

Abstract

One of the organizers of Hindu religious education outside the formal education system that serves to strengthen Hindu religious education is the Pasraman. Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena is one of the non-formal Pasraman in Belega Village, Blahbatuh, Gianyar. Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena serves as a forum dedicated to enhancing Hindu religious education, particularly for children. Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena is one of the solutions for strengthening Hindu religious education for the younger generation of Hindus. The study discusses two main problems: (1) What is the form of Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena in strengthening Hindu religious education? and (2) What is the impact of strengthening Hindu religious education carried out by Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena? The theories used to analyze these problems are Structural Functional Theory and Behaviorism Theory. The subjects of this study were the head of the foundation, Pasraman teachers, and Pasraman students. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The results of the study showed that (1) Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena is a non-formal educational institution for children in grades 3 to 5 of elementary school. The form of strengthening Hindu religious education implemented at Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena includes strengthening of Acara, strengthening of Susila, and strengthening of Acara. The obstacles faced by Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena are the interests of the students. Efforts made include carrying out varied learning activities that prioritize practice or physical activities. (2) The impact of strengthening Hindu religious education carried out at Pasraman Budi Pakerti Nawasena has an impact on students understanding, ethics, and skills related to the Hindu religious education.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the implementation of contextual teaching and learning strategies based on Tri Parartha values in shaping students’ ethics and morals at SD Negeri 1 Tegal Tugu. The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach connects subject matter to students' real-life experiences, making learning more meaningful and relevant. The Tri Parartha values Asih (compassion), Punia (social generosity), and Bhakti (devotion) are integrated into lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments through thematic approaches, collaborative projects, and reflective practices. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that teachers, school leaders, and the school environment play crucial roles in internalizing these values among students. Teachers act as facilitators and role models of the values, while the principal provides weekly guidance emphasizing the importance of Tri Parartha, and the school culture supports value formation through its policies and facilities. Students demonstrated significant behavioral improvements in helping others, discipline, responsibility, and respect. The conclusion of this study is that the contextual teaching and learning strategy based on Tri Parartha is effective in instilling students’ ethical and moral values holistically. This approach can serve as a model for character education based on Hindu religious values that is applicable, contextual, and sustainable, particularly at the primary school level. Abstract

The Character of the Pancasila Student Profile represents the embodiment of lifelong learners who are competent, possess strong character, and behave in accordance with the values ​​of Pancasila. This research focuses on an in-depth analysis of three main aspects, namely: (1) the implementation of Hindu Religious Education and Character Education in shaping the character of the Pancasila Student Profile; (2) the learning models employed by teachers in developing the Pancasila Student Profile; and (3) the impact of the role of Hindu Religious Education and Character Education teachers in shaping the Pancasila Student Profile. Specifically, this study aims to identify the implementation of Hindu Religious and Character Education learning, the applied learning models, and to describe the impact of the role of Hindu Religious and Character Education teachers in developing the Pancasila Student Profile at SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar. This study employs a theoretical framework encompassing cognitive, constructivist, and behaviorist perspectives. The research subjects include Hindu Religious and Character Education teachers and all tenth-grade students. Data collection techniques used in this study consist of observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis technique. Based on the results and analysis, the study shows that: (1) the implementation of Hindu Religious and Character Education in shaping the Pancasila Student Profile is carried out through comprehensive planning and strategies aimed at achieving character development goals; (2) the main learning models applied include discovery learning, cooperative learning, and project-based learning; and (3) the role of Hindu Religious and Character Education teachers in shaping the Pancasila Student Profile has a positive impact on enhancing students' morality and ethics, sharpening their critical and analytical thinking skills, and forming student personalities that are aligned with the noble values ​​of Pancasila.

Abstract

Moral degradation gives rise to doubts in giving teenagers space to lead, giving rise to the assumption that the credibility of teenagers as young leaders needs to be questioned. By learning leadership, it is hoped that teenagers will be more able to control themselves as a way to become competent young leaders. The method used in reviewing the discussion is literature study. The literature used is a library that is related to the topic being discussed. One leadership teaching that can be used as a reference is Asta Brata. Asta Brata teachings are eight Hindu arts of leadership that refer to Hindu Gods. The impact that leadership teachings have on the lives of teenagers, especially in the social life of society, includes having emotional intelligence and being able to control oneself, being able to make mature decisions according to circumstances, and being able to be respected and trusted by the wider community. As an effort to foster leadership in teenagers, Tri Guru has a very important role. These Tri Guru or Tri Kang Sinanggeh Guru will interact directly with the child. The efforts that the Tri Kang Sinanggeh Guru can make include: being a role model, establishing closeness with the child, being fair, and leaving colonial education behind.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relevance of moral values ​​in Canakya Niti Sastra to the character formation of early childhood through storytelling methods in Citra Widya State Kindergarten. The background of the study is based on the importance of character education from an early age and the need for universal and contextual sources of values. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include observation of learning activities, interviews with teachers, and documentation. The focus of the study is directed at three main aspects, namely the relevance of Canakya Niti Sastra's moral values ​​to the character formation of early childhood, story development strategies based on Canakya Niti Sastra values ​​that are appropriate to children's learning characteristics, and the application of storytelling methods in instilling these values ​​in learning. The results of the study indicate that moral values ​​in Canakya Niti Sastra, such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, self-control, and mutual respect, have strong relevance to the goals of character formation of early childhood. The story development strategy is carried out by adapting the substance of the values ​​into a simple storyline that is close to children's experiences, so that it is easy to understand and internalize. The application of the storytelling method has proven effective in increasing children's moral understanding, emotional involvement, and positive behavioral changes in everyday life. Thus, the storytelling method based on the values ​​of Canakya Niti Sastra can be used as an alternative, contextual and meaningful character education strategy for early childhood. Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of educational evaluation in teachers’ practice, particularly focusing on the process of developing assessment instruments at SD Negeri 1 Buahan. The research examines the implementation of learning evaluation, the stages of assessment instrument development, the challenges faced by teachers, and the efforts made to improve the quality of assessment instruments. This study employed a descriptive qualitative research method. The research subjects were classroom teachers at SD Negeri 1 Buahan. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers as the main informants. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques, including data reduction, categorization, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers have implemented educational evaluation continuously through formative and summative evaluations integrated into the learning process. Assessment instruments are developed systematically based on learning objectives and competency achievement indicators. The main challenges encountered by teachers include the heterogeneity of students’ abilities and limited time to design adaptive and fair assessment instruments. To address these challenges, teachers have undertaken several efforts, such as strengthening the analysis of learning objectives, developing assessment instruments collaboratively, utilizing digital learning resources, and conducting continuous review and revision of assessment instruments. The study concludes that educational evaluation designed in a reflective and professional manner plays a significant role in improving the quality of learning and enhancing teachers’ professional competence in elementary schools.

Abstract

Regional or local languages are languages that are passed down from generation to generation within a particular region of a sovereign country, such as an indigenous area, federal state, province, or territory. Regional languages function as a means of communication and serve as an important marker of regional identity. However, in the era of globalization, the Balinese language faces various challenges in its preservation, particularly due to the dominance of the national language and foreign languages in daily life. Recognizing this condition, the Government of Bali Province has established several policies to preserve the Balinese language, one of which is Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2018 concerning Balinese Language, Script, and Literature, as stated in Article 1. SMP Cipta Dharma is one of the private junior high schools in Bali. As a school located in Bali, SMP Cipta Dharma also plays a role in preserving the Balinese language by implementing various approaches in teaching Balinese as a subject. Therefore, it is important to examine how the curriculum is implemented and how Balinese language learning is carried out at the school. This study employs a qualitative research method, with interviews used as the data collection technique. The results of this study indicate that literacy strengthening is the main approach in Balinese language learning at SMP Cipta Dharma, supported by the use of various methods, strategies, and engaging learning media. This approach is considered effective in improving students’ understanding as well as their interest in learning the Balinese language.

Abstract

Itihasa, which includes great Ramayana and Mahabharata epic, has a deep moral, spiritual, and education that remains relevant in modern life. This epic presents universal teachings of truth, liabilities, justice, and devotion that can guide human behavior and character development. In the field of education, values found in Itihasa such as discipline, loyalty, respect to teachers, and knowledge chase plays a crucial role in shaping students’ moral awareness and decision making. Through characters like Rama, Sita, Arjuna, and Krishna, students can explore examples of integrity, perseverance, and struggle between good and evil. Integrating Itihasa's value into education encourages holistic learning that maintains intelligence and spirituality. This helps students understand that education is not only about academic performance but also about the growth of noble character formation and a harmonious relationship with others and their environment. Therefore, implementing Itihasa teachings in modern education contributes to creating a wise young generation, and spiritually balanced, can face global challenges while maintaining cultural identity and integrity.
