Abstract

This study aims to analyze the supervision strategies implemented by the principal at SD Negeri Medangharuman in an effort to improve student learning achievement. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores various types of supervision carried out, namely academic, administrative, and personal supervision. The results of the study show that academic supervision carried out through classroom observation and constructive feedback improves the quality of teacher teaching and student learning outcomes. Administrative supervision involving the management of work programs and transparent evaluations also contributes to more structured learning management. In addition, personal supervision that pays attention to the welfare of teachers helps create motivation in teaching. However, there are several challenges faced by school principals, such as time constraints, resistance from teachers, and low parental participation. This research suggests the importance of better time management, more open relationships with teachers, and increased parental involvement in supporting student achievement.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Learning Analytics (LA) in advancing personalized learning within educational institutions in Germany. Employing a qualitative approach, the research adopts a case study design to delve into the experiences of teachers, students, and education administrators in implementing LA. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with participants who have direct engagement with LA in educational contexts. The findings demonstrate that Learning Analytics empowers educators to create highly personalized learning experiences, addressing the unique needs of individual students, while also providing learners with prompt and meaningful feedback. Nonetheless, the study identifies critical challenges, including inadequate teacher training in leveraging data effectively and persistent concerns surrounding the privacy and security of student data. Despite these hurdles, the integration of LA has proven to enhance the overall learning experience and supports the development of a more responsive and adaptive curriculum. To unlock the full potential of Learning Analytics, the study recommends the establishment of comprehensive policies focused on enhancing teacher training, integrating advanced technology, and ensuring transparency and ethical practices in data usage within educational settings.

Abstract

Vocabulary is a crucial component in mastering the Arabic language, especially for students (santri) in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) who regularly engage with classical Arabic texts such as kitab kuning. However, the lack of attention to systematic kitab kuning learning methods can hinder students’ vocabulary development. This study aims to determine the influence of kitab kuning reading habits on the Arabic vocabulary mastery of students at Illiyyin Dormitory, Darul Falah Amtsilati Islamic Boarding School. The research employs a quantitative associative approach using Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The sample consisted of 30 students selected purposively based on their active participation in kitab kuning learning. Data were collected through a reading habit questionnaire and an Arabic vocabulary test. The analysis revealed a very strong and significant relationship between kitab kuning reading habits including reading duration, discipline, comprehension and vocabulary mastery (r = 0.986; p = 0.000). These findings highlight the importance of structured kitab kuning reading practices in enhancing Arabic vocabulary acquisition and call for the implementation of contextual and tiered pedagogical strategies in pesantren settings to support equitable and effective learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of TikTok content created by the account @bachrulalam in enhancing adolescents’ interest in learning Arabic, within the framework of Islamic education. The study aims to examine how digital religious content can motivate youth to engage with Arabic, a language central to understanding the Qur’an and Hadith. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, data were collected through non-participant observation of selected TikTok videos, semi-structured interviews with ten teenage users, and analysis of audience interactions in the comment sections. The findings reveal that @bachrulalam’s content significantly boosts motivation by integrating Islamic values with modern, relatable digital formats. His casual and engaging delivery, coupled with the inclusion of Arabic script, transliteration, Indonesian translations, and practical usage in daily Islamic phrases, makes Arabic learning more approachable. Additionally, features like short video formats, interactive discussions, and creator responsiveness support an inclusive digital learning environment. Viewed through Social Learning Theory, the study finds that adolescents engage in observational learning, imitating pronunciation and usage patterns presented in the videos. In conclusion, TikTok-based Islamic educational content holds strong potential as a complementary tool to formal Arabic instruction. This study underscores the importance of collaboration between Islamic educators, content creators, and religious institutions in developing innovative Arabic learning strategies for the digital era.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential competencies in addressing the challenges posed by globalization and digitalization in the modern era. This study investigates the application of collaborative learning strategies to foster students' critical thinking abilities. Employing a qualitative research design, the study uses a case study methodology conducted in three middle schools in Helsinki, Finland. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The findings demonstrate that collaborative learning, rooted in social constructivism theory, plays a pivotal role in enhancing students' analytical, evaluative, and reflective capabilities. Additionally, the integration of technology, such as digital collaboration tools, has been shown to improve group dynamics and promote active participation among students. Nonetheless, the research highlights significant challenges, including students' reluctance to engage in group work and insufficient facilitation skills among educators. To address these issues, the study provides strategic recommendations, emphasizing the need for teacher training, effective use of technology, and structured learning frameworks. These insights aim to support educators and policymakers in developing effective educational initiatives that equip students with critical thinking skills for the demands of the contemporary era.
