Abstract

Language is composed of various structural elements, and one of the most essential is morphology, the study of word formation and structure. This research explores the use of English affixation in the lyrics of Back to Friend by Sombr. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the affixes used in the song, focusing on both derivational and inflectional affixes. The analysis applies a descriptive qualitative method to examine how these affixes function within the lyrics, how they contribute to changes in grammatical categories, and how they affect meaning. Derivational affixes in the song often alter the word class, such as turning verbs into nouns or adjectives, while inflectional affixes serve to indicate grammatical aspects like tense, number, or aspect without changing the word class. The findings suggest that affixation plays an important role in the richness and expressiveness of the language used in song lyrics. This research also supports the use of popular songs as engaging material in linguistic and morphological studies.

Abstract

adapted movie from a novel by Frank Herbert, with the same title. The movie follows a story of Paul Atreides, who went to a desert planet named Arrakis. This study explores how language shapes group identity by examining how the Fremen language is used in “Dune (2021)”. Through some selected scenes, the research employs a qualitative approach, by examining character interactions, socio-political dynamics, and the symbolic significance of the Fremen language in shaping cultural identity. The findings show that the Fremen language not only contributes to the film's cultural representation's authenticity but also reflects  wider themes of adaptation, resistance, and the relationship between language and power. This study contributes to the discourse about constructed languages in media by highlighting how they enhance cultural identity and providing insights on the sociolinguistic implications of constructed languages in modern movies.

Abstract

Penjadwalan produksi merupakan tantangan utama dalam sistem manufaktur yang kompleks dan dinamis. Salah satu pendekatan yang banyak digunakan untuk mengoptimalkan jadwal produksi adalah Program Bilangan Bulat (Integer Programming/IP), khususnya Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP). Kajian literatur sistematis ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan IP dalam penjadwalan produksi berdasarkan publikasi ilmiah dari Google Scholar pada periode 2020–2025. Sebanyak 20 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dianalisis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi tren, sektor industri yang dominan, serta integrasi metode pendukung. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa MILP secara konsisten digunakan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi, mengurangi makespan, dan mengoptimalkan alokasi sumber daya. Penggunaan algoritma heuristik dan perangkat lunak seperti Python dan Gurobi turut memperkuat efektivitas penerapan IP, terutama dalam skenario kompleks dan berskala besar. Kajian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi peneliti dan praktisi dalam merancang strategi penjadwalan berbasis optimasi matematis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy of local government in building food security through policy synergy and public administration in Merauke Regency, a border area that has agricultural potential as well as socio-ecological complexity. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, this study reveals various structural and institutional obstacles in the implementation of regional food policies. The findings show that food security in Merauke is not optimal due to institutional fragmentation, weak bureaucratic capacity, and the lack of synchronization of central and regional policies. In addition, the role of indigenous peoples who have local knowledge in food management has not been formally integrated into the policy system. Based on this analysis, a strategic improvement direction is formulated which includes the establishment of a cross-sectoral coordinating forum, strengthening public administration capacity, implementing adaptive decentralization, recognizing customary-based food systems, and developing a spatial data-based food information system. This study contributes theoretically to the study of regional food governance and practically provides policy recommendations for strengthening inclusive and resilient food security in peripheral areas.

Abstract

This study explores slang words found in the top 100 most-liked comments on the Youtube music video of IVE’s “ATTITUDE”. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the data were analyzed based on Allan and Burridge’s (2006) theory of slang classification and functions. The analysis found a total of 15 slang words and categorized it into five types: Fresh and Creative, Flippant, Imitative, Acronym, and Clipping. The findings show that Acronym is the most dominant slang type, while the most common function is to express impression. The results highlight how the original meanings of these slang words shift in digital fandom contexts and how slang is used by K-pop fans not only to convey enthusiasm and emotional responses but also to strengthen social bonds and shared identity in digital spaces. This study contributes to the understanding of language variation in online fan discourse and the role of slang as a tool for expression and solidarity.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how emotions emerge from word choice and sentence structure in the song Perfect by Ed Sheeran using a psycholinguistic approach. The song is widely recognized for evoking feelings of nostalgia, love, and happiness in its listeners. Employing a qualitative method through analytical observation, this research demonstrates how linguistic elements such as diction, repetition, and simple sentence construction contribute to the creation of emotional meaning. The findings indicate that the lyrics of Perfect prompt listeners to recall their own feelings through the use of clear language, recurring themes, and straightforward sentence structures, all of which enhance emotional closeness and resonance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges and developments in the implementation of the Special Autonomy policy in the basic education sector in Merauke Regency and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation in order to formulate policy recommendations based on field findings. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, this study was conducted in Merauke Regency, South Papua, which represents an area with high geographic, social, and cultural complexity. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies of education stakeholders, including Education Office officials, school principals, teachers, traditional leaders, and parents of students. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Special Autonomy has resulted in progress in infrastructure and access in urban areas, but has not been able to overcome the educational gap in remote areas. The main obstacles include delays in fund distribution, weak managerial capacity, and minimal involvement of indigenous communities. Geographical and cultural factors also complicate policy implementation. This study recommends the need for a more participatory policy approach, strengthening local institutions, and developing a contextual curriculum based on local culture. These findings are expected to be a strategic reference in strengthening affirmative policies in the basic education sector in Papua.

Abstract

Players often use online game forums to meet other players and to introduce themselves. This paper will examine the positive politeness strategies in self-introduction posts of the Albion Online forum. The qualitative descriptive design was applied, and fifteen posts were chosen purposely in the “Introduce Yourself!” category, with the data acquired from January to June 2025. This data was analyzed in Brown and Levinson's politeness theory by content-based pragmatic analysis. The results indicate that strategies of greeting, possessing enthusiasm, self-disclosure, joking, and inclusive language were used by the users to build relationships and decrease the social distance. These strategies indicate that users want to be accepted and aligned with the community. This research finds out that positive politeness is one of the necessary instruments of social interaction in digital gaming forums. This means that the online platforms have a major influence on communicative behavior. It is suggested that future research be conducted to add responses or interactions toward the investigation of the patterns of politeness in longer conversations.

Abstract

Dalam era kemajuan teknologi digital, YouTube telah menjadi alternatif yang kuat untuk belajar, mendukung pemahaman tentang teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, terutama di kalangan siswa dan mahasiswa. Meski demikian, masih banyak pengguna yang belum maksimal menggunakan konten pembelajaran karena kurangnya pemahaman dan panduan dalam memilih materi yang berkualitas. Masalah ini semakin diperburuk oleh banyaknya konten hiburan yang mengalahkan materi edukatif seperti kursus tentang algoritma dari Treehouse. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jika YouTube digunakan dengan benar, platform ini dapat menjadi sarana yang efektif untuk memahami konsep dasar algoritma dan meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir komputasional.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze figurative language as used in the lyrics of ‘cindy lou who’ by Sabrina Carpenter. It was selected because it uses a lot of figurative language to convey expressions making the lyrics even more feeling and full of unsaid meaning in it. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach where the method is content analysing, and the aim is to figure out the nature of figurative language employed and the meaning behind them within the context of the whole song. The variable used to gather the information was the content of the presented lyrics, which was analysed thematically under applicable theories of figurative language. The results indicate that a lot of figurative language such as metaphor, irony, imagery, symbolism and also hyperbole dominates the lyrics of ‘cindy lou who’ are used to enhance the overall poetic style and to translate a sense of emotions and feelings of loss, regret and or longing. Through analysing the instances of these figures of speech, the study also attempts to reveal the implicit messages which are not explicitly expressed by Sabrina Carpenter and to prove how figurative language may influence emotional aspects and aesthetic norms of a musical work itself.
