Abstract

Rapid coastal environmental changes have placed local communities vulnerable to various ecological risks. This study aims to explore the environmental risk perceptions of coastal communities in the Serambi Deli Coast area through the lens of ethnoscience and language analysis with an ecolinguistic approach. The method used was qualitative-ethnographic, including participant observation and in-depth interviews with community leaders selected purposively based on their knowledge and experience of the coastal environment. The study found three main findings. First, there is a phenomenon of Ecological Language Loss in the general coastal community, where local vocabulary for interpreting natural signs has disappeared due to cultural shifts and modernization. Second, this ecological knowledge is not completely extinct, but rather stored exclusively in the linguistic system of the Orang Laut community, which is highly dependent on the sea but isolated from the wider coastal community. Third, a survey of the younger generation revealed a very high level of ignorance of local terms for natural markers, indicating a Disruption of Intergenerational Knowledge Transmission, resulting in the younger generation experiencing "mitigation blindness" that potentially increases their vulnerability to disasters. This study concludes that local community languages ​​are living archives of ecological risk knowledge that is now on the verge of extinction. These findings underscore the urgency of documenting and revitalizing indigenous knowledge as an integral part of participatory and contextual disaster mitigation policies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the Tanun Dance from an ethnocoreological perspective as a representation of the cultural identity of the people of Sawahlunto City. The research focuses on the emergence of the Tanun Dance, its presentation form, and the socio-cultural context underlying its existence within the community. This study employed a qualitative method with a dance ethnography approach within the framework of ethnocoreological studies. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The informants consisted of the choreographer of Tanun Dance, the first dancer, and Silungkang songket weavers. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results indicate that the Tanun Dance originated from the weaving activities (batanun) of the Silungkang community, which were later stylized into an artistic performance form. The movements in the Tanun Dance were inspired by weaving activities such as arranging threads, moving the turak, dyeing yarn, and tidying woven fabrics. Performance elements including movements, musical accompaniment, properties, costumes, floor patterns, and presentation structure represent the socio-cultural life of the weaving community. The Tanun Dance functions not only as entertainment, but also as a medium for cultural preservation, cultural education, and a symbol of cultural identity of the Sawahlunto community. Through an ethnocoreological approach, the Tanun Dance is understood as a cultural product reflecting the values of perseverance, patience, skill, and the collective memory of the Silungkang community toward the songket weaving tradition as local cultural heritage.

Abstract

Language is the primary means of conveying information and ideas. Successful communication is largely determined by the clarity and accuracy of the message. One contributing factor to this success is the use of effective sentences. An effective sentence is defined as a sentence that conveys an idea precisely, concisely, and is easily understood by the reader or listener without creating double meanings or confusion. This paper aims to explain the meaning, characteristics, and requirements for forming effective sentences according to the rules of good and correct Indonesian. The method used is a literature study, collecting and analyzing various theories related to grammar and sentence structure. The results of the discussion indicate that the use of effective sentences is crucial in various forms of writing, whether academic, professional, or general, because it can improve the quality of writing, clarify intent, and enhance the writer's credibility. In conclusion, mastering effective sentences is a fundamental skill required for effective and efficient communication.

Abstract

Family conflict is a common issue in household life and can significantly affect children's psychological development. The family, which should serve as a source of security, affection, and emotional support, may become a source of stress when prolonged conflicts occur. This study aims to analyze the forms of family conflict and their impact on children's psychological well-being through a library research approach. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method by examining various scientific journals, books, research articles, and relevant literature. Data were collected through literature identification, selection, and review, then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that children who grow up in conflict-ridden families are more likely to experience anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, social difficulties, and decreased academic performance. Family conflict also affects children's emotional stability, social relationships, and personality development. Therefore, healthy communication, positive parenting practices, and adequate emotional support from parents are essential to minimize the negative effects of family conflict on children's development and mental health.

Abstract

The rapid development of financial technology (fintech) has increased the accessibility of online lending services among various groups, including university students. The ease of access, fast disbursement process, and minimal requirements have made online loans an alternative source of funding for students facing financial difficulties. This study aims to analyze the influence of online loans on students’ economic conditions, identify the factors affecting their usage, examine the resulting impacts, and propose possible solutions to minimize associated risks. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining various relevant scientific articles, journals, and academic references. The findings indicate that the use of online loans among students is primarily influenced by economic needs, low levels of financial literacy, consumptive lifestyles, and the convenience of digital financial services. Although online loans provide benefits such as quick access to funds for urgent needs, their negative impacts tend to be more dominant, including increased debt burdens, poor financial management, consumptive behavior, and psychological stress. Therefore, efforts to address these issues should focus on improving financial literacy, strengthening awareness of the risks associated with online lending, promoting responsible financial behavior, providing safer financing alternatives, and enhancing the role of higher education institutions in offering financial guidance and support. Through these measures, students are expected to make more informed financial decisions and reduce their dependence on online lending services.

Abstract

Divorce is a legal event that gives rise to various legal consequences for the parties involved, including the husband, wife, and children. In addition to terminating the marital relationship, divorce also raises issues regarding the rights and obligations of the parties, particularly concerning child custody. Child custody disputes often become a complex problem as they involve the best interests of the child and the conflicting interests of both parents. This article aims to analyze the legal basis for the legal consequences of divorce and to examine the problems of child custody and its resolution within the Indonesian legal system. The method used is normative legal research with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The results show that the legal consequences of divorce are regulated in various laws and regulations, such as the Marriage Law and the Compilation of Islamic Law. In child custody disputes, courts generally consider the best interests of the child as the primary basis for determining custody rights. Therefore, resolving child custody disputes requires a legal approach that not only ensures legal certainty but also provides protection for children's rights

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the education system in Germany from historical, philosophical, sociological, geographical, juridical, and psychological perspectives, as well as to examine the educational system, curriculum, and the roles of government and society in supporting national education. This study is important because Germany is recognized as one of the countries with a high-quality education system and serves as a reference in comparative education studies worldwide. Through this research, a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics, strengths, and implementation of the German education system is expected to be achieved. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from various academic sources, including books, journal articles, educational policy documents, reports from international organizations, and other scholarly publications related to the German education system. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through the processes of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing to provide a systematic and in-depth description of Germany’s education system. The findings indicate that the German education system is built upon the principles of equal educational opportunities, competency development, and strong integration between education and labor market needs. The system includes formal, non-formal, and informal education, covering preschool, primary, secondary, and higher education levels. The strengths of the German education system are reflected in the implementation of the Dual Vocational Education System, competency-based curricula, highly professional teachers, and strong support from both the government and society. Therefore, the German education system can serve as a valuable reference for improving the quality and effectiveness

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of linguistic bias toward Arabic dialects and its impact on the linguistic confidence of Arabic language learners through a library research approach. Data were drawn from indexed journal articles, linguistics books, and relevant sociolinguistic studies, analyzed using content analysis with narrative synthesis. The findings indicate that linguistic bias against Arabic dialects constitutes a social construction shaped through mechanisms of overt and covert prestige, rather than intrinsic linguistic differences. This bias manifests in learning environments through four primary patterns: dialectal hierarchy, competence-dialect association, media representation dominance, and excessive correction. Psychologically, such bias diminishes linguistic confidence by heightening foreign language anxiety, fostering a negative linguistic self-concept, and reducing willingness to communicate. Conversely, learning environments that promote dialectal equality, reflective educator roles, and sociolinguistic literacy serve as protective factors for learners' linguistic confidence. This study contributes to the development of inclusive and linguistically just Arabic language pedagogy.

Abstract

Motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang memengaruhi keberhasilan siswa dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Salah satu faktor eksternal yang berperan dalam membentuk motivasi belajar adalah keterlibatan orang tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran keterlibatan orang tua dalam membangun motivasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dipublikasikan pada periode 2021–2026. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Systematic Literature Review. Data diperoleh melalui penelusuran artikel ilmiah dari berbagai basis data bereputasi internasional dan nasional yang relevan dengan topik penelitian. Proses seleksi literatur dilakukan berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang telah ditetapkan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan orang tua dalam bentuk dukungan belajar di rumah merupakan bentuk keterlibatan yang paling dominan dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Pengaruh keterlibatan orang tua terjadi melalui peningkatan keyakinan diri, minat belajar, ketahanan akademik, serta keterikatan siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, efektivitas keterlibatan orang tua dipengaruhi oleh kondisi sosial, budaya, dan karakteristik pendidikan pada masing-masing lingkungan belajar. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kolaborasi antara keluarga dan sekolah merupakan faktor penting dalam membangun motivasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the world of education and requires educational institutions to continuously adapt to improve the quality of educational services. The digital era presents various opportunities to support more effective and innovative learning processes, but also raises challenges related to the readiness of human resources, technological infrastructure, and educational management. This study aims to analyze strategies for developing educational quality in facing the challenges of the digital era at SMAS IT South Kalimantan. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a type of library research through the collection and analysis of various relevant scientific sources, such as journals, books, research results, and educational policy documents. The results of the study indicate that developing educational quality at SMAS IT South Kalimantan in facing the digital era requires an integrated strategy, including strengthening teachers' digital competence, developing a curriculum that is adaptive to technological developments, optimizing the use of information technology in the learning process, strengthening the principal's digital leadership, and implementing a digital-based quality assurance system. In addition, collaboration between schools, the government, parents, and the community is a crucial factor in supporting the success of educational transformation. Challenges faced include limited technological infrastructure, gaps in educators' digital competence, and the need to develop an organizational culture that is responsive to change. Therefore, developing educational quality needs to be carried out sustainably through adaptive policies, increasing human resource capacity, and optimal use of technology. This study provides a conceptual contribution to understanding educational quality development strategies that schools can implement to produce quality, relevant education that meets the demands of the digital era.
