Abstract

The empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has become one of the priorities in Indonesia's economic development in the digital transformation era. This Development Communication practicum aimed to empower two MSMEs in Surabaya, namely Kukiv and D'dimsum, through a participatory development communication approach. Kukiv is an MSME specializing in gluten-free products that required support in strengthening its digital content strategy, while D'dimsum, a newly established business, required promotional media to support its business introduction. The study employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method combined with a capacity-building approach and direct assistance. The results indicate that the assistance provided to Kukiv focused on planning and producing digital promotional content, whereas the assistance for D'dimsum included designing a promotional banner and producing three soft-selling videos that were published on the business's social media account. These findings demonstrate that development communication strategies tailored to the specific needs of each MSME can support the development of promotional media and strengthen business identity.

Abstract

Transformasi digital dalam penyelenggaraan pelayanan publik telah mendorong pemerintah untuk meningkatkan efektivitas, efisiensi, transparansi, dan aksesibilitas layanan kepada masyarakat. Di sisi lain, digitalisasi juga menimbulkan berbagai tantangan terhadap perlindungan hak digital masyarakat, seperti keamanan data pribadi, privasi, dan kepastian hukum dalam pemanfaatan sistem elektronik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep perlindungan hak digital masyarakat dalam penyelenggaraan pelayanan publik berbasis digital, mengkaji bentuk perlindungan hukum yang berlaku di Indonesia, serta mengidentifikasi upaya penguatan tata kelola pemerintahan digital yang mampu menjamin perlindungan hak digital secara efektif. Penelitian menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis terhadap peraturan perundang-undangan, buku, dan artikel ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Indonesia telah memiliki kerangka regulasi yang memadai melalui Undang-Undang Nomor 25 Tahun 2009 tentang Pelayanan Publik, Undang-Undang Nomor 27 Tahun 2022 tentang Pelindungan Data Pribadi, Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 2024 tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik, serta kebijakan Sistem Pemerintahan Berbasis Elektronik. Namun, efektivitas perlindungan hak digital masih menghadapi tantangan berupa harmonisasi regulasi, kapasitas kelembagaan, keamanan siber, dan literasi digital. Oleh karena itu, penguatan tata kelola pemerintahan digital harus dilakukan secara terpadu melalui penguatan regulasi, kelembagaan, teknologi, sumber daya manusia, dan partisipasi masyarakat guna mewujudkan pelayanan publik digital yang aman, akuntabel, inklusif, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of the Kuda Kepang Dance as a medium for cultural tourism promotion in Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu Province. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. The results indicate that the Kuda Kepang dance was introduced to Kepahiang Regency in the 1930s through the Javanese transmigration program during the Dutch colonial era. Since 2023, the dance has undergone significant development led by choreographer Eigmal, who implemented creative reconstructions and innovations across movement elements, musical accompaniment, dancers, makeup, costumes, properties, floor patterns, and performance venues. Despite these modern modifications to suit contemporary entertainment and aesthetic demands, the Kuda Kepang dance preserves its core values and traditional roots. Furthermore, the dance effectively serves as a promotional tool for regional cultural tourism in collaboration with Kepahiang's natural tourism potential, while simultaneously fulfilling social, entertainment, cultural identity, and economic functions for the local community.

Abstract

This study analyzes how the current digital era significantly influences the way the Galuik Dantiang Piriang dance is recognized, valued, and sustained; it aims to understand how this dance continues to thrive in the digital age. A qualitative research method was employed. Drawing on Jean-Paul Sartre’s theory that "existence precedes essence" meaning something acquires meaning through its actual existence and continued presence via actions and lived processes the study reveals that the dance is flourishing both on digital platforms and within the community, as technological advancements facilitate its continued development and preservation.

Abstract

This study examines the role of al-madih (praise poetry) as an instrument of political legitimization during the Umayyad Dynasty. While al-madih originally functioned as a literary genre for expressing admiration and honoring individuals, it gradually evolved into a political medium that reinforced the authority of the ruling dynasty. This research aims to analyze how praise poetry was employed to construct the public image and legitimacy of Umayyad rulers through the works of three prominent court poets: Al-Akhtal, Jarir, and Al-Farazdaq. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and qualitative content analysis, the study examines selected poems alongside historical and literary sources related to the political and cultural context of the Umayyad period. The findings reveal that al-madih functioned not merely as a form of artistic expression but also as an effective tool of political communication. Through rhetorical devices such as metaphor, hyperbole, symbolism, and genealogical references, these poets portrayed Umayyad caliphs as just, divinely sanctioned, and legitimate rulers while simultaneously strengthening the dynasty's public image and responding to political opposition. The study concludes that al-madih played a significant role in consolidating Umayyad political authority, demonstrating the close relationship between Arabic literature and political power in early Islamic civilization.

Abstract

Al-Mutanabbi is widely recognized as one of the greatest poets in classical Arabic literature, whose works are distinguished by their linguistic richness and profound exploration of human experiences. Among the dominant themes in his poetry is pride, which reflects his identity, courage, and sense of honor. This study aims to analyze the representation of pride in selected poems of Al-Mutanabbi. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literary approach. The data consist of three poems: The Poet Glories in His Own Youthful Prowess, At the Siege of Antioch, and The Poet Reproaches Saif al-Daula. Data were collected through close reading and note-taking techniques and analyzed by identifying, classifying, and interpreting textual evidence related to the representation of pride. The findings reveal that pride is represented through three categories: pride through self-glorification, pride through heroism, and pride through self-respect. Among these categories, self-glorification appears most frequently, reflecting Al-Mutanabbi's tendency to construct an image of himself as an extraordinary individual through expressions of superiority, courage, and honor. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the representation of pride in Al-Mutanabbi's poetry and provide an alternative perspective for the study of classical Arabic literature.

Abstract

Perancangan Sistem Informasi Agenda Surat Masuk dan Disposisi pada instansi pemerintahan memerlukan rancangan yang jelas sebelum dikembangkan menjadi sistem yang utuh. Kegiatan pengaadian ini bertujuan merancang prototipe antarmuka menggunakan Figma pada Bidang Hubungan Industrial Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi, studi dokumen, dan analisis kebutuhan selama kegiatan magang. Tahapan perancangan meliputi penyusunan wireframe, pembuatan mockup, dan pengembangan prototipe interaktif. Hasil kegiatan ini berupa prototipe yang mencakup fitur login, dashboard, pengelolaan agenda surat masuk, disposisi, pencarian, laporan, dan logout. Prototipe ini diharapkan menjadi acuan awal dalam pengembangan sistem informasi yang lebih efektif, terstruktur, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan administrasi pada instansi pemerintahan.selanjutnya.

Abstract

Fierce competition within the automotive industry in Indonesia demands perfect quality standards, however, in reality, production lines frequently encounter efficiency constraints that result in a low quality rate. This research is motivated by the initial condition of an automotive company possessing a quality rate of 50%, where the quality problem-solving process remained reactive and unstructured. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC) meetings through the integration of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) method to increase the quality rate toward a maximum target of 100%. The research method employed is a case study approach featuring direct observations in the Genba area (the actual workplace) and the analysis of historical production data. The data processing results indicate that through a disciplined PDCA cycle—ranging from root cause identification using a Fishbone Diagram to the standardization of operational procedures—a significant improvement in quality performance was achieved. Post-implementation calculation data demonstrates an increase in the quality rate from 50% to 94.5%, alongside a reduction in problem-solving time from 3 days to a mere 4 hours. The discussion of the results indicates that the key to success lies in the synchronization between a rapid response on the production floor and the validation of physical data (real parts). The conclusion of this study confirms that implementing the PDCA method within the QRQC framework is not only effective in instantly rectifying product defects, but is also capable of establishing a sustainable mitigation system. Although the 100% target represents an operationally challenging achievement, this system has successfully steered the company out of its quality inefficiency zone.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the Family Hope Program (PKH) on community welfare in Oesapa Barat Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City. PKH is a conditional cash transfer program implemented by the Indonesian government to improv the quality of life of low-income families through education, health, and social welfare support. This study used a qualitative research approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants included the Village Head of Oesapa Barat, PKH facilitators, beneficiary families, and community members who had not yet received PKH assistance. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.  The findings indicate that the Family Hope Program has a positive impact on community welfare. In the education sector, PKH assistance helps families meet their children's educational needs and supports school participation. In the health sector, the program facilitates access to essential health services. Furthermore, in terms of social welfare, the Family Hope Program (PKH) helps reduce the economic burden on beneficiary families and contributes to an overall improvement in their standard of living. However, several challenges remain, including inaccurate beneficiary data, limited public understanding of the program, and dissatisfaction among non-beneficiaries. Therefore, stronger coordination among stakeholders and more effective program outreach are needed to improve the implementation and effectiveness of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in the future.

Abstract

Color is an important element of visual communication that functions not only as an aesthetic component but also as a medium for conveying messages, creating atmosphere, and evoking emotional responses from audiences. This study aims to analyze the use of color as a form of visual communication in the movie Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train and to examine its role in shaping mood and audience emotions. The research employs a qualitative interpretive approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through visual observation, documentation, and literature review, and were analyzed using Donis A. Dondis’s visual communication theory and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s color theory. The findings indicate that color functions as a visual communication medium capable of conveying meaning nonverbally. Warm colors such as red, orange, and yellow are used to create dynamic, energetic, and tense atmospheres, while cool colors such as blue, green, and purple are employed to evoke calm, reflective, and emotional moods. Through the combination of color, lighting, and visual composition, the film strengthens its narrative, represents the emotional states of characters, and enhances audience engagement. Therefore, color serves not merely as a visual element but also as a significant component of visual communication that contributes to the construction of meaning, atmosphere, and emotion within the film.
