Abstract

This paper explores the biblical prohibition of alcohol in worship, as described in Leviticus 10:8-11, and its application for churches today. The passage in Leviticus highlights God’s instruction to Aaron and his sons regarding the restriction on drinking alcohol while carrying out priestly duties. The article examines the theological and ethical significance of this command and discusses its implications for modern Christian worship practices. The study highlights the need for reverence and purity in worship and makes connections to current concerns like substance abuse and spiritual discipline within church communities. The paper concludes by offering practical guidance for churches to maintain holiness by refraining from alcoholic beverages in worship services.

Abstract

The theme of God's provision in limitations is highly relevant to theology students, who often face various challenges in their academic and spiritual journeys. The story in 2 Kings 4:42-44, where the prophet Elisha distributes twenty barley loaves to a hundred people, provides a powerful illustration of how God can turn limitations into blessings. Theology students often feel inexperienced and limited in resources to serve the community, but Elisha's example teaches that intention and trust in God are far more important than the amount of resources one has. Limitations can also trigger a crisis of faith, especially when the demands of academics and daily life increase. Therefore, it is important for students to realize that limitations are not obstacles to God, but opportunities to experience His love and power. This paper aims to explore how God's provision in limitations can be the basis for learning faith that shapes the character and ministry of theology students. By understanding this concept, it is hoped that students can serve sincerely and trust in God in every aspect of their lives.

Abstract

Basically, God created His creatures perfectly. On the other hand, it turns out that God also created humans who do not have five senses, or incomplete body functions, such as the blind, deaf, physically disabled, even mentally disabled so that they have limitations in carrying out daily activities and are often considered different from others. A person who has physical or mental limitations due to illness or injury is called a disability. Being a person with a disability not only affects the person themselves, but often their families, especially their parents. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of pastoral care for parents who have children with disabilities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The population and sample of this study were parents, namely the father and mother of a child with disabilities in Pamalian village, Sorkam sub-district, Central Tapanuli district. In an effort to provide pastoral counseling assistance with a Client Centered approach to parents who have children with disabilities, there are several approaches taken by the companion, namely, listening, reflecting, explaining, and being fully present. From the research results, pastoral counseling with a client-centered approach can help parents who have children with disabilities understand that what happened to their child is not a mistake or punishment due to sin so that parents can accept their child's condition.

Abstract

This study explores the concept of the Kingdom of God in the book of Acts as a spiritual and eternal reality that transcends political power and geographical boundaries. Through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the work of the apostles led by the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of God manifests and grows within the early Christian community. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study examines how the Kingdom of God was understood, practiced, and proclaimed by the apostles, as well as its relevance for contemporary Christian life. The findings indicate that the Kingdom of God is a call to live in love, justice, and peace, with the Holy Spirit as the central force in gospel proclamation and the formation of a Christ-centered community.

Abstract

This article analyzes the depiction of Jesus Christ from various scriptural perspectives and examines the impact of the diversity of Christological experiences on Christian faith. Research shows that the Bible presents a varied picture of Jesus: Mark's Gospel presents Him as the Suffering but Powerful Servant; Matthew as the Messianic King and Great Teacher; John as the eternal Logos (Word); and Revelation depicts Him through symbols of glory as King, Judge, and Redeemer. The diversity of Christological experiences produces positive impacts in the form of deeper understanding, theological enrichment, and facilitation of interfaith dialogue. However, this diversity also has the potential to cause misunderstandings, theological conflicts, and identity crises if not properly understood. This article also explores how cultural and historical backgrounds significantly influence interpretations of Jesus, from the first-century Jewish context to contemporary interpretations in various global cultural contexts. In conclusion, although understandings of Jesus continue to evolve according to context, it is important for people to maintain their theological identity while remaining open to various enriching perspectives.

Abstract

This article explores the meaning of millennials in Revelation 20:1–6 through the lens of amillennialism within the framework of Reformed theology. The millennium—the thousand-year period of Christ's reign—is a central issue in Christian eschatological discussions, giving rise to three main views: premillennialism, postmillennialism, and amillennialism. Using historical-theological hermeneutics as well as the study of literature, this paper examines the symbolic meaning of the book of Revelation and how it has been interpreted throughout the history of the church. The amillennial approach interprets that Christ has reigned spiritually since His resurrection through His presence in the church, and that the millennium is not a literal period in the future, but rather describes the present era of the church. This understanding rejects the view of a literal thousand-year kingdom and focuses on Christ's ongoing work on the world. Therefore, the proper interpretation of millennials influences.
