Abstract

In this pandemic era, parents are faced with the demands of tasks or work accompanying children in learning in addition to other tasks, but on the other hand, parents' abilities are limited. All of this circumstances caused burnout syndrome, which  occured in emotional, mental and physical fatigue, cynical and decreased achievement of parents in the task of being an educator and mentoring for children. This study aims to formulate an effective form of religious coping to overcome parental burnout. Religious coping means an individual's attempt to use his or her religious beliefs to prevent or alleviate the psychological impact of the pressures faced. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Some informants admitted that it was difficult when it came to dual functioning, as parents and teachers at home. From the result of the research, it can be conluded that coping strategies, consists of belief in God's omnipotence, praying and believing and committing to God's promise in His Word are very effective at preventing and inhibiting the development of burnout syndrome.

Abstract

Martin Luther as a great theologian has left a theological view that has a wide influence in the world, especially for the Lutheran churches. Martin Luther's ecclesiology has also been used as the basis for the Lutheran church order. What did Luther believe about ecclesiology? This is what this research tries to examine, and Luther's view has become the basis for Lutheran churches to carry out church programs related to their marturia, koinonia and diakonia. Has anything changed after hundreds of years have passed and how do Lutheran churches live up to Luther's belief in church life? This is what is studied in the research conducted by the author. This is interesting because the great influence of a Luther has been recognized by the world church.

Abstract

Etika Kristen adalah etika hidup orang-orang Kristen yang berlandaskan firman Tuhan. Landasan Firman Tuhan adalah Alkitab sebagai pedoman hidup orang-orang Kristen yang tinggal dalam tatanan Kerajaan Allah. pengambilan keputusan aspek situasional kepentingan diungkapkan dalam kebijaksanaan, yang mengukur situasi berdasarkan pengalaman dan situasi tertentu. Kebijaksanaan dapat disampaikan dalam peribahasa, perumpamaan, narasi melayani sebagai contoh, dan objek pelajaran yang hanya berlaku dalam kasus normal. Untuk mencari, menerapkan, menguji, mengenali, mempelajari, bertanya, mendengarkan, menjadi bijak, menasihati serta gagasan serupa dalam Alkitab semuanya menggambarkan secara berulang kali liku-liku baru jalan untuk membuat keputusan yang paling bijak. Kebijaksanaan terutama memberikan nasihat umum, yang hanya dapat dipraktikkan dalam situasi tertentu. Dalam situasi yang sama sekali berbeda, penggunaannya justru akan menghasilkan kebalikannya. Apa yang kita hadapi di sini adalah 'etika situasional' yang sehat. Jika etika situasional mengakui perintah Tuhan dan membatasi diri pada situasi itu tidak diatur dengan jelas oleh mandat Tuhan, etika situasional “dengan hikmat alkitabiah” dapat menjadi suplemen penting dan komponen harian dari keputusan etis. Demikianlah dalam kitab Amsal “dosa” (Ibrani paesa) digunakan dua belas kali, tetapi dosa terhadap Allah tidak pernah disebutkan secara langsung. Dari sini orang tidak dapat menyimpulkan bahwa hikmat mengungkapkan pertimbangan murni manusia, sementara hukum menyatakan perintah ilahi yang diwahyukan. Kebijaksanaan mengandaikan iman kepada Tuhan yang mengungkapkan dirinya dan memandang ini sebagai firman Tuhan. Kata Kunci: Etika Situasional, Kebijaksanaan,Normatif Abstract Christian ethics is the living ethics of Christians based on the word of God. The foundation of God's Word is the Bible as a life guide for Christians who live in the order of God's Kingdom. decision making situational aspects of interest expressed in wisdom, which measures the situation based on experience and specific situations. Wisdom can be conveyed in proverbs, parables, narratives serving as examples, and object lessons that apply only in normal cases. To seek, apply, test, recognize, learn, ask, listen, be wise, exhort and similar ideas in the Bible all forge new ways to make the wisest decisions. Wisdom mainly gives general advice, which can only be applied in certain situations. In a completely different situation, using it would actually do the opposite. What we are dealing with here is sound 'situational ethics'. If situational ethics recognizes God's commandments and limits oneself to those situations not clearly governed by God's mandate, situational ethics “with biblical wisdom” can become an important supplement and a daily component of ethical decisions. Thus in the book of Proverbs "sin" (Hebrew paesa) is used twelve times, but sin against God is never directly mentioned. From this one cannot conclude that wisdom expresses purely human judgment, while law expresses revealed divine commandments. Wisdom presupposes faith in God who reveals Himself and views these as the words of God. Keywords: Situational Ethics, Wisdom, Normative

Abstract

Abstract. One of the legacies of the ancestors in the Toba Batak culture is the Manulangi ritual. One of the Manulangi rituals in Toba Batak society is currently known as Sulang-sulang Hariapan. Hariapan toasts in Batak society are known as a way of honoring elderly parents. Respecting parents is an implementation of the fifth law of the Torah contained in Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you." In Christian teaching, we teach respecting parents, not speaking harshly, not insulting parents, especially when they are sick, but parents must be given encouragement so that even when they are sick, they remain calm and wait for death to come. Every child who respects his parents will receive blessings. The author uses a qualitative approach. The Qualitative Approach emphasizes the search for meaning, understanding, concepts and descriptions of a phenomenon; prioritizes quality, and is presented narratively. Research data was collected through interviews. The author conducted open interviews so as not to limit the informants from conveying their understanding of Sulang-sulang Hariapan. This research was conducted in Sungai Raya Village, Siempat Nempu Hulu District, Dairi Regency. The results of research conducted by the author on traditional figures, religious leaders and ordinary people in Sungai Raya Village in performing the Hariapan Toasts are the result of interpreting the meaning of the Fifth Commandment, even the Hariapan Toasts are the result of a theological study of the Fifth Commandment.

Abstract

Pelatihan akan membuat setiap orang yang mengikutinya bisa memiliki kemampuan lebih sesuai bidang pelatihan yang diikutinya. Demikian juga anak-anak yang akan mengikuti pelatihan dalam kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang diadakan oleh Tim S2 PAK Pascasarjana IAKN Tarutung. Tujuan pelatihan pada kegiata pengabdian ini yaitu edukasi memberikan pelatihan dengan memanfaatkan 3 indikator yakni, karakter jujur, karakter peduli dan karakter kerjasana yang semuanya secara kristiani. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini menerapkan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai Agustus 2023 dengan sasaran kelompok anak sebanyak 30 anak-anak pada usia 5-12 tahun di desa Tapian Nauli Kecamatan Sipoholon Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara bertempat di Balai Desa. Anak-anak akan dilatih dengan pemahaman 3 indikator diatas untuk lewat bimbingan tim PkM. Hasil pengabdian ini yaitu ke-30 anak tersebut berhasil dalam memanfaatkan karakternya secara Kristiani di tengah perkembangan teknologi sekarang ini.

Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to help readers and the Church of God better understand the response and role toward the existence of homosexuality, and to serve as a reference for the Church in addressing cases of homosexuality. The goal is to produce an effective perspective and approach that the Church and society should take in serving and healing individuals suffering from homosexuality. In this study, the Biblical perspective on homosexuality is analyzed by referencing key texts such as Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27, which are often used as the basis for conservative churches to oppose homosexuality. This research also examines the Church's response in the form of guiding individuals toward repentance, commitment to celibacy, pastoral counseling, as well as attention to the psychological aspects of homosexual individuals. Using a qualitative approach, this study highlights significant differences in the Church's response to homosexuality, where conservative churches emphasize repentance and the avoidance of homosexual relationships, while progressive churches are more accepting and supportive of inclusivity. This research is expected to provide insight into the Church's role in supporting homosexual individuals and building a more inclusive understanding in line with the teachings of Christ's love.

Abstract

The significant increase in the elderly population in Indonesia, along with the rise in global life expectancy, presents new challenges for their well-being, both physically, emotionally, and socially. One of the main challenges faced is the sense of lost meaning in life, which is exacerbated by physical limitations, the loss of a spouse, and social isolation. This study aims to explore the role of spirituality in empowering the elderly to find meaning in life through a pastoral approach. Using a qualitative case study approach, this research identifies the challenges faced by the elderly and analyzes how spirituality and pastoral approaches can enhance their lives. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and were subsequently analyzed using thematic methods. The results show that spirituality provides the elderly with strength to face life’s challenges, such as prayer, worship, and involvement in faith communities. Effective pastoral approaches include emotional counseling, Bible teaching, and engaging the elderly in spiritual community activities. This approach helps the elderly discover new hope and purpose in life, allowing them to live their later years more meaningfully. This study contributes to the development of pastoral care for the elderly and strengthens the role of spirituality in supporting their well-being.

Abstract

Poverty is a situation where a person is unable to fulfill his life needs in terms of food, clothing, shelter and education. This writing uses a qualitative descriptive design. Qualitative research is research that aims to describe, discover and understand the meaning of data obtained from a number of people who are the research targets of social and humanitarian issues. This research method is a visit, a pastoral conversation, where the companion is present to provide encouragement, motivation, listen to any struggles and problems faced by the counselee and provide social assistance. And in the form of Pastoral Assistance, the aim is to provide Supportive Counseling, namely counseling to strengthen and support each other (1 Thess. 5:11; Heb. 3:13; 10:25).

Abstract

Penistaan agama merupakan persoalan yang dihadapi bangsa Indonesia yang semakin tinggi frekuensi kepidanaannya dari tahun ke tahun dan sangat mempengaruhi kerukunan dan persatuan di Tengah Masyarakat. Tulisan ini bertujuan supaya masyarakat memahami bagaimana penistaan agama dan proses menanggulanginya. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptik dengan studi literatur yang relevan untuk dijadikan bahan analisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan bahwa orang percaya atau gereja bertanggungjawab bersama umat beragama lain merawat kerukunan dalam fenomenologi keberagamaan di Indonesia. Orang percaya dapat menciptakan kerukunan dan memperkokoh persatuan melalui kontribusi sikap etis Kristen di ruang public. Kemajemukan harus tetap dirawat dan dikawal dengan tindakan moderat, beragama dengan sungguh-sungguh tanpa mencela agama lain. Maka saling menghormati dalam kemajemukan di negara Indonesia ini menjadi cara tersendiri memperkokoh kerukunan untuk menciptakan negara rukun dan damai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas tentang Perselingkuhan dalam Pernikahan Kristen dan bagaimana cara menanganinya melalui pendekatan berbasis teologi Alkitab. Perselingkuhan merupakan hubungan antara seseorang yang sudah menikah dengan orang yang bukan pasangannya yang sah. Perselingkuhan fisik melibatkan hubungan seksual dengan seseorang di luar pasangan utama, sedangkan perselingkuhan emosional melibatkan pengembangan hubungan emosional yang kuat dengan orang lain selain pasangannya. Penyebab perselingkuhan sendiri bermacam-macam. Lebih dari 80 persen pria mengaku berselingkuh bukan dengan wanita yang lebih menarik secara fisik dibandingkan istrinya. Alkitab dengan tegas mengutuk perselingkuhan. Dalam beberapa ayat, seperti Maleakhi 2:14-16 dan Ibrani 13:4, kita dapat melihat bahwa Tuhan sangat membenci perselingkuhan. Pernikahan dianggap sebagai ikatan suci yang seharusnya dijaga dengan kesetiaan penuh. Perselingkuhan bukan hanya melanggar janji pernikahan, tetapi juga menyakiti hati Tuhan. Dampaknya sangat luas, mempengaruhi individu dan pasangan secara psikologis, sosial, dan emosional. Perselingkuhan dapat meruntuhkan keharmonisan rumah tangga lewat perceraian serta merusak kebahagiaan anak-anak.
