Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of area revitalization and tourist attractions on tourists' intention to visit the National Monument (Monas) Tourism Area in Jakarta. The revitalization program included environmental improvements, enhancement of public facilities, improved accessibility, and the development of green open spaces to enhance destination quality. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with tourists, direct observations at the Monas Tourism Area, and documentation related to site conditions and tourism activities. The data were analyzed descriptively based on tourists' experiences, perceptions, and evaluations of the revitalization and available attractions. The findings show that revitalization has positively influenced tourists' intention to visit. A cleaner, more organized, and comfortable environment, supported by improved facilities, has enhanced the visitor experience. Tourist attractions, including the National History Museum, the Monas observation deck, parks, green open spaces, and cultural events, also encourage both first-time and repeat visits. Monas' strategic location in central Jakarta and its accessibility through public transportation further increase tourists' intention to visit. However, challenges remain, including overcrowding on weekends, long queues at the observation deck, and the need to diversify attractions and improve public facilities. Continuous improvements are therefore essential to ensure sustainable tourism development and visitor satisfaction.

Abstract

Karangsambung Tourism Village in Kebumen Regency possesses natural and cultural potential that serves as a tourist attraction. However, this potential has not yet been widely recognized due to challenges in marketing and introducing its natural and cultural assets. Previous studies have examined the use of Instagram as a promotional medium for products, services, and events; however, research specifically analyzing the implementation of Instagram content creation for cultural events in tourism villages remains limited, particularly in terms of content creation, utilization of Instagram features, as well as the challenges and solutions encountered in its implementation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of content creation through Instagram for the 2023 Maring Karangsambung Cultural Event. This study focuses on content creation, the utilization of Instagram features, and the challenges and solutions involved in promoting the event. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research method, with data collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature reviews. The data were analyzed through data reduction, supported by the framing theory approach as an analytical framework. The results show that Instagram effectively functions as a promotional medium by increasing the exposure of the Maring Karangsambung Cultural Event while simultaneously introducing Karangsambung Tourism Village to a wider audience. Content creation was divided into three stages: pre-event, on-event, and post-event, utilizing Instagram features such as feeds, stories, reels, hashtags, and collaborations with media partners. The challenges encountered included limited human resources, promotional budgets, and information reach. The solutions implemented included collaboration with media partners, seeking sponsorship opportunities, and optimizing Instagram features. The study concludes that well-planned content creation can improve the effectiveness of information dissemination, build a positive image of the cultural event, and support the promotion of Karangsambung Tourism Village.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development of agro-edutourism package innovations as an educational tourism segment and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the management of Guava Merah Agrotourism (PUJA). This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach conducted at Guava Merah Agrotourism (PUJA), Ngargoyoso District, Karanganyar Regency. Data were obtained through observations, in-depth interviews with managers, local communities, and visitors, as well as documentation. Data validity was tested through source, method, and researcher triangulation. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Guava Merah Agrotourism (PUJA) has developed seven agro-edutourism packages: Earth, Tunas, Sari, Harvest, Creation, Preneur, and Sustainable Packages. Each package integrates cultivation, product processing, entrepreneurship, and agricultural waste management to provide interactive learning experiences, particularly for students. Supporting factors include attractive natural potential, guava commodities, community support, and visitor enthusiasm. Inhibiting factors include limited facilities, weather-dependent open areas, limited human resources, and suboptimal promotion and visit management. These innovations increase destination value by integrating education, recreation, and direct field experiences while diversifying activities and strengthening PUJA’s competitiveness as an agriculture-based educational tourism destination.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze tourists’ experiences regarding tourism services provided by the local community at the Mandalika Bazaar in Kuta, Lombok, and identify the factors shaping these experiences. A qualitative descriptive method was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving tourists as primary informants, with management and MSME operators as supporting informants. Data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, while validity was verified through triangulation. The results show that tourist experiences at the Mandalika Bazaar are primarily shaped by the quality of interactions between tourists and the local community. Tourists perceived local residents as friendly and communicative, without feeling pressured during transactions, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Interactions extended beyond buying and selling to discussions about local culture, signature Lombok products, and tourism recommendations, fostering a more authentic experience. Tourists also considered the bazaar relatively clean, safe, and well-organized, with adequate supporting facilities. Satisfaction resulted from services meeting expectations, particularly friendliness, service speed, accessible information, and product variety. However, challenges included limited foreign language proficiency among some MSME operators, inadequate information signage, and inconsistent kiosk operations. Overall, interpersonal relationships, communication, comfort, and service quality are key factors influencing positive tourist experiences and satisfaction.

Abstract

The development of dates that have high nutritional value and have the potential to be developed as a substitute for granulated sugar in the manufacture of gummy. This study examines the use of Ajwa dates and Sukari Madinah dates as a source of natural sweetness in making gummy without added sugar. A quantitative experimental approach was used, with identical formulations in both treatments, namely 100 grams of date meat, 200 mL of water, 3 tablespoons of gelatin, and 1 tablespoon of lemon water, so that only the type of dates distinguished. The assessment was carried out through a hedonic test of 30 panelists on color, aroma, taste, and texture attributes, then analyzed with paired samples t-test. The results showed that gummies made from Ajwa dates obtained a higher acceptance score than Sukari Medina dates, with significant differences in aroma, taste, texture, and overall acceptance (p < 0.05), while the color did not differ significantly. This finding strengthens the potential of dates as a low-sugar functional food, as well as providing a reference for culinary business actors in developing healthy snacks based on natural ingredients.

Abstract

This study examines the potential, challenges, and development strategies of tourism agglomeration in the Rawa Pening–Kopeng–Borobudur (RKB) area as a strategic tourism cluster in Central Java. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, document reviews, and literature studies. The results indicate that the RKB area has diverse tourism attractions and a strategic location, providing strong potential for development as an integrated tourism area. However, its development faces several challenges, particularly limited connectivity between destinations, uneven distribution of facilities and amenities, unintegrated promotional activities, and environmental issues that may affect the area's sustainability. Based on these findings, development strategies should focus on integrating tourism products through cross-destination tourism packages and experiences, improving connectivity and accessibility, strengthening and distributing amenities more evenly, and developing joint promotional activities. In addition, establishing a unified destination brand is necessary to consistently represent the distinctive characteristics and competitive advantages of RKB. These strategies are expected to strengthen regional competitiveness, improve tourist experiences, distribute economic benefits more evenly, and support sustainable tourism management while encouraging stronger collaboration among stakeholders across the RKB tourism cluster in Central Java.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the production of nuggets using mung beans and chicken meat as base ingredients by evaluating organoleptic test results and assessing business viability. Two mixture formulations were used: Mixture A (80% mung beans and 20% chicken meat) and Mixture B (50% mung beans and 50% chicken meat). Organoleptic testing involved 30 semi-trained panelists who evaluated attributes such as color, aroma, taste, and texture, as well as overall acceptability. Data were analyzed using One-Way ANOVA at a 5% significance level. The results indicated that Formulation B was preferred overall, achieving mean scores of 5.00 for color, 6.17 for taste, 5.67 for texture, and 5.49 for overall acceptability. Meanwhile, Formulation A received the highest score for aroma (5.40). Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference in the taste attribute (p = 0.035), whereas no significant differences were found regarding color, aroma, texture, or overall acceptability. Business feasibility analysis showed ingredient costs of Rp39,345.00, with production costs of Rp29,303.00 for frozen nuggets and Rp15,576.50 for fried nuggets. Based on the organoleptic test results and business feasibility assessment, Formulation B is the most recommended formula for further development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the tourism attractions and formulate optimization strategies for the implementation of educational agrotourism at Sirah Kencong Natural Tourism, Blitar Regency, East Java. The research is motivated by the gap between the comprehensive agrotourism potential of the area (a 219.15-hectare tea plantation, a waterfall, a 15th-century Majapahit-era temple, and colonial-era history dating back to 1882) and its actual field implementation, which still focuses on recreation without structured educational elements. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, with informants selected through purposive and snowball sampling. Data were analyzed using the interactive Miles and Huberman model, complemented by SWOT analysis and the 10A destination framework (Morrison, 2023). The results show that Sirah Kencong possesses complete and diverse tourism attractions, yet significant gaps remain in the form of minimal educational content, the absence of interpretation facilities, and the unavailability of educational tour guides. The formulated optimization strategies include developing structured educational tourism packages, providing educational facilities, strengthening human resource capacity, reinforcing branding and digital marketing, addressing external constraints, and pursuing sustainability. This study affirms the importance of a holistic and collaborative approach in developing sustainable agrotourism that is relevant to modern tourism trends.
