Abstract

This study aims to determine the meaning of KI Hajar Dewantara's three educational mottos, to understand how students as prospective teachers implement these mottos, and to measure teacher professionalism through these mottos. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with interviews as the data collection technique. The subjects in this study are Indonesian Language and Literature Education students as prospective teachers, selected through simple random sampling. The results of this study answer the researcher's curiosity, namely that these educational mottos are more than just slogans; they serve as concrete guidelines in building teacher professionalism, particularly in terms of personality. A teacher who can serve as a role model, motivator, and supporter for students will create a learning environment that is not only knowledge-oriented but also focused on character development. Therefore, it is important for prospective educators to familiarize themselves with these principles from an early stage, so that they can later deliver humanistic, inspiring education and produce a generation that is intelligent, competitive, and of noble character.

This study aims to describe the analysis of the types and functions of directive speech acts in the novel Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra by Habiburrahman El Shirazy using a pragmatic approach according to J.L. Abstract

This study aims to examine the types and meanings of conversational implicatures in the film Frozen 1 using a pragmatic approach. Conversational implicatures refer to implied meanings that are interpreted based on the context of utterances. This study refers to Grice's theory of cooperation principles and conversational maxims. The method used is qualitative descriptive with content analysis techniques. The data, consisting of dialogues between characters, were categorized into conventional and non-conventional implicatures. The results show that implicatures in this film appear through violations of maxims such as quantity, quality, relevance, and manner. The use of implicatures aims to convey hidden messages such as sarcasm, subtle rejection, criticism, and polite expressions. These findings prove that animated films are not only a means of entertainment but also contain valuable linguistic elements. The analysis of implicatures, which includes forms of sarcasm, subtle rejection, criticism, and polite expressions, shows that animated films have a broader role than mere entertainment; they contain important pragmatic values. therefore, this study contributes to the development of pragmatic studies while offering the potential for utilizing animated films as a language learning medium to sharpen the ability to understand implied meanings, with a recommendation that future research examine the application of implicature in various film genres or other media to enrich understanding of linguistic diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ review text writing skills through a digital-based differentiated learning approach. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles at SMP Negeri 4 Manonjaya with 25 students as participants. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Differentiated learning was implemented by adjusting the content based on students’ interests in the review objects (short films and picture story videos), which were then presented in the form of digital posters. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results revealed a significant improvement in the aspects of content, structure, language, and format of review texts. The average score increased from 73 in Cycle I to 89.5 in Cycle II, with learning mastery improving from 52% to 100%. The findings indicate that digital-based differentiated learning is effective in enhancing review text writing skills as well as increasing students’ participation and learning motivation.
