Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of sarcasm found in the comment section of the TikTok account @vadelbadjideh, the types of posts that receive the most sarcastic comments, and the illocutionary speech acts contained in those comments. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, employing documentation techniques by capturing screenshots of comments from the most viewed video posts. The data were analyzed using a pragmatic approach based on Charles Morris’s theory and classified according to Elizabeth Camp’s sarcasm types and Searle’s speech act categories. The results show that lexical sarcasm is the most commonly used form by netizens, followed by propositional sarcasm, sarcasm with the word "like," and illocutionary sarcasm. Viral and controversial posts—such as videos featuring unique movements or connections to public issues—attract the highest number of sarcastic responses. The most frequent illocutionary acts found are assertive and expressive types, indicating that social media users employ sarcasm to express opinions and emotions. This research contributes to understanding the dynamics of digital communication and the role of sarcasm in shaping social interactions on social media platforms.

Abstract

This article analyzes the short story “Robohnya Surau Kami” by A.A. Navis using the pragmatic literary criticism approach technique. This research is based on the knowledge that literary works function as a means of communication that provides moral, educational, and social messages to readers in addition to being a means of creative expression. The pragmatic approach examines the extent to which short stories can offer educational benefits and values by focusing on the role of the reader in receiving and evaluating literary works. By analyzing the basic components of short stories and their application in the social context of society, this study uses an analytical descriptive method. The findings of this study are expected to help readers to understand the role of pragmatics in literary criticism and advance the study of Indonesian literature, especially in recognizing literary works as windows to social reality and teaching tools for moral principles. Moreover, by emphasizing the importance of balance between ritual worship and social responsibility, the analysis shows that this short story offers a sharp moral critique, especially in the religious and social realms. Therefore, the work serves as entertainment and a relevant social mirror to teach readers life lessons and improve their quality.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the protection mechanisms for victims of sexual violence in Islamic boarding schools, with a special focus on the tragic case that occurred at the Yayasan Manarul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Bandung. Between 2016 and 2021, 13 female students were victims of sexual violence by the boarding school owner, and nine of them gave birth to children. This case highlights the weakness of the protection system in Islamic boarding schools and the imbalance in power relations between kyai and students. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature study method to analyze legal documents, journals, and relevant reports related to child protection and sexual violence in religious educational institutions. The results of the study indicate that the main factors that exacerbate the situation are the lack of a safe reporting mechanism, the lack of technical regulations governing child protection in Islamic boarding schools, and a patriarchal culture that silences the voices of victims. This study also found the importance of the involvement of families, communities, and state institutions in building a preventive, responsive, and curative child protection system. Recommendations include the formation of internal policies in Islamic boarding schools, the establishment of a child protection task force, and active cooperation with external institutions such as the Ministry of Religion and the Indonesian Child Protection Commission. A confidential reporting system and regular training are needed for all parties in the Islamic boarding school to create a safe and dignified learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: (1) the forms of social interaction among the elderly at the "Gau Mabaji" Center in Romangloe Village, Bontomarannu District, Gowa Regency; (2) the forms of interaction between the elderly and caregivers/staff at the same center; and (3) the impacts of such social interactions on the elderly. This is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The research involved eight informants, consisting of four elderly individuals aged over 70 and four social workers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data validity ensured through triangulation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.The results of the study show that: (1) social interaction among the elderly tends to be simple and falls into two categories: associative and dissociative, influenced by similarities in age, life experiences, and emotional needs; (2) interactions between the elderly and caregivers are more complex due to differing social roles, leading to various forms of interaction ranging from cooperation to conflict, depending on emotional, professional, and interpersonal communication factors; and (3) social interactions have both positive and negative impacts on the elderly.

Abstract

The Purpose of this study is to analyze the revocation of Land Use Permits (IPT) which have expired and the release of Surabaya City regional assets in the form of IPT. Method of research used in this article is normative legal research using a conceptual approach and a case approach. Based on this research, the following conclusions can be formulated: (1) IPT is a special product released by Surabaya Government through KTUN, so that the Government has the authority to revoke IPT if it does not comply with its intended use, either by providing compensation or without compensation and; (2) IPT as an asset of the city Government can be released by paying a certain amount of compensation with a land release agreement which is regulated in Perwali Surabaya 51/2015.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the revitalization of kitab kuning (classical Islamic texts) education in the era of globalization by emphasizing the integration of media and information literacy into the pesantren curriculum. As a legacy of classical Islamic scholarship, kitab kuning plays a central role in shaping character, strengthening Islamic understanding, and developing students’ critical reasoning. However, amidst the rapid growth of digital media, the teaching of kitab kuning faces serious challenges in terms of relevance and appeal. Using a qualitative approach through observation, in-depth interviews with pesantren leaders, teachers, and curriculum staff, as well as documentation of social media content at Pesantren Babussalam in Aceh Singkil, this study found that the strategic use of platforms such as TikTok and Instagram by teachers and students can offer a more contextual and engaging learning method that aligns with the learning styles of the digital generation. This technological integration not only enhances comprehension of classical texts but also equips students with digital literacy, 21st-century skills, and critical awareness in using media responsibly. Therefore, media literacy serves as a strategic instrument to preserve the relevance of kitab kuning while ensuring that pesantren remain adaptive to modern changes without losing their traditional roots.

Abstract

This paper examines the dynamics of Eid al-Fitr celebrations at the Niujie Mosque in Beijing as a representation of the lived experiences of multiethnic Muslim communities in China. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach and case study methodology, the research highlights how Muslims from diverse ethnic backgrounds—such as Hui, Uighur, and Kazakh interact and engage in cultural integration while celebrating Islamic traditions amid the dominance of Chinese culture and a tightly controlled political system. As the oldest mosque in Beijing, the Niujie Mosque serves not only as a spiritual center but also as a symbol of harmony between Islamic teachings and local traditions. The Eid celebration here functions as a religious occasion as well as a site of social interaction, cultural diplomacy, and identity negotiation. The findings reveal that the Muslim community in Beijing maintains its religious identity through adaptive acculturative practices, such as incorporating local architecture, serving halal Chinese dishes, and involving multiple ethnic groups in religious activities. These findings affirm that Islam in China is not monolithic but rather flourishes in diversity and blends organically with local culture.

Abstract

The integration of technology in language education has significantly influenced how teachers assess students' language skills. This library-based study explores the role of Quizizz, a gamified online assessment platform, in supporting the integration of language assessment with the four major language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Drawing on recent scholarly literature published between 2020 and 2025, the study identifies the platform’s strengths in assessing receptive skills through multimedia-supported tasks and real-time feedback. It also highlights the motivational effects of gamification, including increased learner engagement and reduced language anxiety. While Quizizz has limitations in evaluating productive skills, the findings suggest that these can be addressed through blended approaches that combine Quizizz with other digital tools. The study concludes that, when implemented creatively, Quizizz can serve as an effective formative assessment tool in modern, learner-centered language classrooms.

Abstract

This study aims to map the evolution of literature related to planning and forecasting within the context of accounting management using a bibliometric approach. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis based on data retrieved from the Scopus database between 1973 and 2025, the research identifies trends, knowledge structures, and both established and emerging themes in the field. A total of 55 relevant documents were analyzed using VOSviewer software through co-occurrence analysis, density visualization, and overlay visualization techniques. The findings reveal two major categories in the literature: well-established themes such as "management", "system", and "planning", and emerging topics including "management accounting course", "sustainability", and "reporting practice". These results suggest a shift in research focus toward sustainability integration, digital transformation, and innovation in accounting education curricula. This study contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of more adaptive, data-driven management accounting systems and provides valuable insights for advancing business and management education curricula.

Abstract

This research focused on creating a Liveworksheet E-LKPD for fourth-grade Natural and Social Sciences to address the lack of technology-integrated learning resources. The development followed the ADDIE model, encompassing Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Validation by experts in content, language, and media yielded scores of 92%, 97%, and 90%, respectively—classified as highly valid. Practicality assessments across several trial schools also produced excellent results (95,65%, 97.96%, and 96.43%), as did the effectiveness evaluations (95.23%, 93.75%, and 95.00%). Consequently, the E-LKPD is considered highly appropriate for use in the classroom
