Abstract

This study aims to see how stakeholders perceive the English learning program at a business school  in West Java, Indonesia. Looking at the aspects of learning needs, curriculum quality, and students' English proficiency; this research is part of the English curriculum design at the institution. This study used a mixed method. The questionnaires were distributed to various stakeholders. The sampling was carried out in a stratified non-random manner. A total of 90 student questionnaires, eight questionnaires from senior lecturers of subject matter, five questionnaires from English lecturers, four questionnaires from the Institution, and five questionnaires from industry/users of graduates were collected. The interviews were conducted with the institution. Using the nonparametric two-way chi-square test, the researcher found that the perceptions of various stakeholders regarding the need to learn English are the same, namely emphasizing the need for English after graduation (future needs). Meanwhile, immediate needs in the form of teaching programs aimed at helping students in their current studies, according to stakeholders, are the second priority. This study also found that stakeholders generally viewed the English curriculum at the Institution as good enough. It was also found that students’ perceptions of their English language skills were at odds with the perceptions of other stakeholders (English lecturers, course lecturers, Institution, and users). In the final section, a number of suggestions are given.

Abstract

Cooperation between Taiwan and Indonesia continues and develops in various fields. Taiwan is Indonesia's main trading partner. This research to analyze the impact of Taiwan dan Indonesia cooperation through tariff reductions with pessimistic scenarios (tariff reductions of 50%) and optimistic scenarios (tariff reductions of 95%) on commodities contained in request-offer schemes that are applied reciprocallously in each country (Taiwan and Indonesia). Both scenarios are applied to analyze their impact on Indonesia's macroeconomy which includes welfare, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), government and private consumption, investment, government spending, trade balance, and inflation. The analysis method used is the simulation of Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) versi 9 database. Indonesia's welfare, consumption (government and private), investment, government spending, and inflation increased in both tariff reduction scenarios, while Indonesia's trade balance declined in both tariff reduction scenarios. Indonesia needs to increase competitiveness of commodities contained and added value in the Taiwan and Indonesia request-offer schemes to increase the capacity and quality of Indonesia's exports in Taiwan.

Abstract

In essence, technology has become an inseparable part of Gen Z's life. However, inappropriate use of technology can impact their development. The technology that exists today, has a great influence on the progress of a nation and for that the role of parents and educators must be able to encourage as well as provide control and supervision to children so that they are not addicted to technology. because with technology can expand knowledge through the internet and digital devices, increase creativity to be creative in developing skills and can facilitate learning. However, current technology can also have negative impacts such as children becoming dependent and spending time in front of the screen, social interactions, even children are more interested in front of the screen than playing in the surrounding environment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of technology on Gen Z from an Islamic perspective and how to implement it. The research method used is a qualitative method with a library research approach. The results of this study indicate that the influence of technology on Gen Z is very large, this is because technological advances require everyone to be able to operate technology. However, it must be balanced with the role of Islam, namely character education. Character education has a higher meaning than moral education, therefore character education not only teaches right and wrong, but also instills habits (habituation) about what is good so that Gen Z understands, is able to feel, and wants to do what is good. In the Islamic perspective, character is called morality. The components of moral or personality education include: knowledge, attitudes, and behavior and are identical to the teachings of Islam itself which are sourced from the Quran and Hadith.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills refer to the ability to analyze assumptions, distinguish hidden values, evaluate evidence, and assess conclusions. This study aims to develop students' critical thinking skills by implementing the Susan Loucks-Horsley (SLH) learning model. The type of research conducted is pre-experimental with a one-shot case study design. The research was carried out in the 2020 Science Education Study Program, Class A, at Hasyim Asy’ari University, with a total sample of 33 students. The subject matter in this study was light reflection. Data collection was conducted using essay tests based on critical thinking skill indicators. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the students' average critical thinking ability was 85%, categorized as very high, with 22 students in the very high category and 11 students in the high category. The average mastery of critical thinking indicators also fell into the very high category, with the following details: elementary clarification (96%), the basis for decisions (82%), inference (75%), advanced clarification (89%), and supposition and integration (83%).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of collaborative leadership in realizing the vision and mission of high schools. Education as the main pillar of human resource development places the vision and mission of the school as a strategic guide in all educational activities. Collaborative leadership is understood as an approach that emphasizes cooperation between leaders and all team members to achieve common goals through active involvement in decision-making. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach at SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan. The subjects of the study include principals, teachers, students, and parents. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the application of collaborative leadership creates an environment that supports open communication and effective cooperation. Schools with collaborative leadership recorded up to 90% of vision and mission achievement, much higher than schools that did not implement this approach, which was 60%. The supporting factors are inclusive school culture, effective communication, and commitment from all stakeholders. The inhibiting factor is the lack of collaborative leadership training for principals and teachers.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine Catholic religious education learning based on interactive learning multimedia to increase students’ interest in learning. Qualitative research with a descriptive approach was used in the study. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Solor Selatan, south with the implementation time starting from February to May 2025. The research subjects were 11 people, namely: 1 Catholic religious education teacher, 1 curriculum head, and 9 grade XI students. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis teahniques used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data in this study used data collection techniques and source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the use of interactive learning multimedia can improve students’ understanding of moral and spiritual values. The response from stundents to the learning media used was very good, reflecting involvement in the learning process that can increase students’ interest in learning. The conclusion in this study is that interactive learning multimedia is supported as an effective learning tool to increase students’ interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Quality of Mental Health Services for Depression Patients at the Sangurara Health Center, Duyu Village, Palu City. The type of research is Descriptive with a qualitative approach. The technique of determining informants is done purposively; Data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation; Data analysis used is an interactive model including data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the quality of mental health services for depression patients is optimal. Based on the Reliability dimension, that the services provided by health workers are timely; Assurance, that the service procedure is in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP); Physical evidence, in the form of examination rooms and medical equipment is sufficient and the available room meets the minimum requirements; Empathy, that continuity of service is not carried out by health workers; and the Responsiveness dimension, that depression patients have been served quickly by health workers. It is expected that health workers will pay attention to and carry out continuity of service, namely by conducting supporting examinations to determine the development of the physical condition of depression patients.

Abstract

Marine ecosystem degradation in international border regions has evolved into a multidimensional issue that encompasses ecological, geopolitical, and diplomatic aspects. This study aims to examine how marine environmental degradation affects the foreign policy of maritime countries, particularly Indonesia, and to explore the potential of ecological diplomacy as a strategic approach. Employing a qualitative method through literature review, this research reveals that ecosystem damage in strategic areas such as the North Natuna Sea and the South China Sea not only threatens environmental sustainability but also weakens Indonesia's diplomatic standing due to fragmented maritime governance and weak environmental diplomacy. By integrating ecological considerations into foreign policy, ecological diplomacy can serve as a vital instrument for establishing inclusive and sustainable ocean governance. The study recommends strengthening inter-agency maritime coordination, modernizing marine surveillance, and expanding international cooperation based on shared ecological interests.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of the first to file principle on the cancellation of the registered trademark “Tako” in the Supreme Court Decision Number 989K/Pdt.Sus-HKI/2024. This research is a prescriptive normative legal research using statute approach and case approach. The results of this study indicate that the judge's consideration in the Supreme Court Decision Number 989K/Pdt.Sus-HKI/2024 to cancel the registered mark “Tako” owned by the Defendant/Case Respondent for bad faith based on the existence of similarities in essence with Perguruan Tako who first used the mark is contrary to the principle of first to file adopted by Indonesia because Perguruan Tako is not a well-known and unregistered trademark so as to cause legal uncertainty and ignore external legal protection to the Defendant/Case Respondent as the owner of the registered mark “Tako”.

Abstract

In the book Matnul Ghoyah wat Taqrib by Imam Abu Syuja’ Al-Isfahani, the concept of character formation is discussed in this study. This fiqh book, which is concise and easy to understand, is intended for beginners in Islamic teachings who want to get closer to Allah SWT. Character formation in this book emphasizes the importance of moral and spiritual values ​​to be used as a foundation in daily actions, both in the relationship between humans (habluminannas) and Allah (habluminallah). This study shows that, in addition to increasing justice in muamalah, the moral quality of fiqh education can increase integrity, dependability, self-control, and social responsibility. This can prevent unfair practices and increase public trust. In addition, this book emphasizes important aspects of religious character, which include living in harmony, tolerance, and obedience in worship. There are values ​​of Islamic character education such as self-awareness, sincerity, optimism, hard work, and concern for the environment. This study combines a qualitative descriptive approach with a library research approach to strengthen the analysis. It is hoped that this study will significantly advance the Islamic-based character education system in Indonesia. This will also be an important reference for educators, researchers, and practitioners of character education in the modern era.
