Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of academic stress levels on the ability of non-local (migrant) students to achieve social integration. The research is motivated by the urgency of understanding how academic pressures experienced by students influence their social adaptation processes, particularly for those living far from their home environments and families. Migrant students often face dual challenges: high academic demands and the need to adjust to a new social environment with different cultures, habits, and social interactions. Using a quantitative approach and a correlational method, a specially designed questionnaire was distributed to obtain data measuring academic stress levels and students' social integration abilities. The data were then analyzed using Pearson’s correlation analysis to identify the relationship between the two variables. The findings indicate a significant negative effect between academic stress and social integration. This suggests that higher levels of academic stress among students are associated with lower capacities for social integration. These results highlight the importance of interventions in the form of academic and psychosocial support both from educational institutions and families to facilitate a more effective and comprehensive social adaptation process for migrant students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between the absence of a father's role and emotional management in adolescent girls. The background of this study is based on the need to recognize the psychological consequences of the lack of a father's role in the lives of adolescent girls in order to support their emotional well-being. In this study, a quantitative approach was used with a correlational analysis method. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to adolescent girls and then analyzing them using the Spearman method. The findings of this study indicate a significant negative relationship between the absence of a father's role and emotional management. The absence of a father's role has a significant impact on how adolescent girls manage their emotions. This study provides an important message for parents, especially fathers, to be more actively involved in their children's lives, both physically and emotionally, in order to help develop good emotional management skills in children.

Abstract

Microsoft Copilot is a generative AI technology that can help users compose, edit, and analyze documents automatically. By the end of 2024, the use of Copilot in Indonesia has grown rapidly, including in educational institutions and the government sector. However, the use of this technology by civil servants in higher education, particularly in the administrative realm of the rectorate, has rarely been studied in depth. The rectorate environment at Sriwijaya University has a high administrative workload and demands precision, so technology such as Copilot has great potential to improve the efficiency and quality of ASN work. This study aims to determine the extent to which the implementation of Microsoft Copilot affects the performance of ASN in the rectorate environment of Sriwijaya University. In addition, this study also analyzes the role of digital literacy and organizational support as factors that can strengthen the effectiveness of Copilot use in daily work. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to civil servants, then analyzed using regression to test the relationship between the variables of technology implementation and employee performance. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of a more adaptive campus bureaucracy digitalization strategy based on artificial intelligence technology.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce a science learning kit based on Problem Based Learning to enhance problem-solving skills related to force concepts for elementary school students at Phase B. The research employed a research and development approach consisting of needs analysis, product design, development, validation, and limited implementation stages. Needs analysis was conducted through teacher interviews and classroom observations to identify learning conditions and limitations of instructional media in science lessons. Findings from the analysis served as the foundation for designing the science kit and student worksheets aligned with Problem Based Learning syntax and Polya’s problem-solving indicators. The final product consisted of a science kit containing simple experimental tools and a worksheet book guiding student learning activities. Product validation involved a media expert and a subject matter expert to evaluate content accuracy, design quality, and instructional suitability. Media expert evaluation resulted in a feasibility percentage of 93%, while subject matter expert evaluation reached 96.5%, indicating very high feasibility. Limited implementation was carried out among fourth-grade students through pre-test and post-test administration consisting of eight short-answer questions measuring problem-solving ability. Improvement analysis employed the N-gain formula. Results indicated an N-gain score of 0.3 categorized as moderate improvement. Research findings reveal that the Problem Based Learning–based science kit supports meaningful understanding of force concepts and facilitates structured problem-solving processes. The developed product demonstrates potential as an alternative science learning medium that promotes active learning and higher-order thinking skills in elementary education.

Abstract

This research is one of the efforts of history educators to improve the quality of learning of East Asian History courses in the History Education Study Program of STKIP Sinar Pancasila which takes place in semester 3, through the use of inquiry methods in classroom learning activities, it is hoped that it can create a meaningful history learning atmosphere. The application of this learning model can foster enthusiasm and a sense of curiosity to learn in students so that students are trained to find out, discover, and solve problems they face during the learning process through the use of inquiry methods. In this study, the method used is qualitative research with the study strategy being classroom action. Using strategies because many opinions have emerged that the quality of learning will be conducive if implemented by teachers by paying attention to every activity that has been carried out during the learning process such as determining learning objectives, compiling materials to be taught, searching for and collecting sources used as references in the preparation, learning strategies to be used, time allocation and evaluation activities. The inquiry approach implemented begins with an expository approach, where the lecturer plays a major role in the learning activities, particularly in terms of coaching, providing direction, guiding students, providing action, and leading to evaluation and reflection activities. It ends with an inquiry approach where students are required to be more independent during the process of searching, discovering, and solving problems related to the issues posed by the lecturer.

Abstract

Migrant students often face psychological challenges while pursuing higher education away from their hometowns, including academic pressure, loneliness, and the need to adapt to new environments. These conditions can affect their mental balance if not supported by adequate social relationships. This study aims to examine how social support contributes to the mental health of migrant college students. The research used a quantitative approach with a correlational explanatory design. Data were collected from 214 migrant students through an online questionnaire measuring levels of social support and positive mental health. Analysis was conducted using simple linear regression to identify the relationship between the two variables. The results showed that higher levels of social support are associated with better mental health among migrant students. Support from family, friends, and significant others helps them manage stress, build a sense of security, and maintain optimism throughout their academic journey. These findings highlight the importance of social support as a protective factor that strengthens psychological well-being among students living away from their familiar environment.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the descriptive writing skills of fifth-grade elementary school students through the use of picture media. The research was motivated by the low level of students’ descriptive writing ability, such as difficulties in expressing ideas, limited vocabulary, and a lack of coherence in paragraph organization. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 28 fifth- grade students of SDN 10 sembawa selected purposively. Data were collected through writing tests, classroom observations, and documentation, and then analyzed using both qualitative descriptive and quantitative methods. The findings reveal that the use of picture media helps students observe objects in detail, enrich their vocabulary, and stimulate their imagination to construct more coherent descriptive paragraphs. The average score of students’ descriptive writing improved from 65 in the pre-cycle to 76 in the first cycle and 86 in the second cycle. This significant increase demonstrates that picture media effectively supports students in developing ideas and expressing them in well-structured written form. Moreover, students showed higher enthusiasm and motivation during the learning process. The study recommends that Indonesian language teachers integrate picture media as an alternative and engaging strategy for teaching descriptive writing, enabling learning objectives to be achieved more effectively.

Abstract

The supervision of Over Dimension and Over Loading (ODOL) vehicles in East Kalimantan Province still faces complex challenges involving institutional, technical, and socio-cultural aspects. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of administrative law supervision of ODOL vehicles carried out by the East Kalimantan Provincial Transportation Agency and to identify the obstacles encountered in implementing legal enforcement in the field. This research applies a juridical-normative and empirical approach with a descriptive-qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 41 supervisory officers, field observations at two active weighbridge locations (Km 38 Balikpapan and Km 14 Samarinda), and documentation analysis from the Transportation Agency, Land Transportation Management Center, and the Ministry of Transportation. The findings indicate that supervision has been conducted through joint operations among institutions, weighbridge monitoring, and outreach to logistics companies. However, its effectiveness remains low, with administrative sanctions imposed on only 23% of the violations recorded in 2023. Major obstacles include limited supervisory personnel, non-integrated digital infrastructure, and low legal awareness among logistics operators and drivers. This study concludes that the effectiveness of ODOL supervision depends on the synergy between institutional capacity, technological integration, and community legal culture. It recommends developing a simple digital supervision system integrated with vehicle inspection (KIR) data and enhancing public participation to establish a transparent and sustainable monitoring mechanism. These efforts are expected to support the achievement of the national Zero ODOL 2026 target in East Kalimantan.

Abstract

Instagram has become one of the social media platforms widely utilized in digital da’wah activities, not only as a medium for conveying religious messages but also as a tool for shaping the image of event organizers through visual and narrative content. Along with the increasing use of social media, communication strategies based on participant testimonials have emerged as an effective form of message presentation in building public perception. This study aims to analyze how the image of the Ittiba’ Event is represented through participant testimonial content on the Instagram account @ynevent.id using Frank Jefkins’ image theory.The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through visual and textual content analysis of five testimonial video posts with the highest levels of interaction based on the number of likes and comments. Each piece of content is analyzed to identify the presence of the five image categories proposed by Jefkins, namely current image, experience image, mirror image, wish image, and multiple image. The findings indicate that all Jefkins’ image categories appear in the testimonial content, namely: (1) current image, reflected through participants’ enthusiasm, sense of closeness, and emotional responses; (2) experience image, shown in participants’ direct experiences during the event; (3) mirror image, related to how participants perceive the identity and reputation of @ynevent.id; (4) wish image, referring to the expected benefits, religious values, and spiritual impact; and (5) multiple image, which emerges from the combination of perceptions held by participants, organizers, speakers, and the visual presentation on the @ynevent account. This study concludes that testimonial content on Instagram plays a significant role in building a positive image of the Ittiba’ Event. Future research is recommended to conduct comparative analyses across different events or to expand data sources to other digital platforms.

Abstract

Lack of contextual-based teaching materials and students' difficulty in understanding the Two-Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV). This study aims to compile Mathematics LKPD teaching materials for Two-Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) Integrated with Islamic Values. This study took place at MTs Al-Ghozaly Wonosobo as the research subjects of mathematics teachers and class VIII-C students of Mts Al-Ghozaly Wonosobo. The pre-research data accumulation technique was carried out by consulting with the mathematics teacher of MTs Al-Ghozaly. Based on the hearing, it was explained that the learning resources applied by the teacher were simple LKS, less innovative in containing material and seemed monotonous, many students had not applied Islamic values ​​in daily activities, the summative test of SPLDV of class VIII-C students was still excessive which was below the KKM. It is hoped that with the existence of this developed LKPD, students are motivated to study and easily understand SPLDV materials that are Integrated with Islamic Values. The development model applied in the study is ADDIE. The data processing technique used validity tests from material and media experts, as well as practicality tests from students using small- and large-class trials. The results of this study were: (1) The average score from material experts was 4.74 and from media experts was 4.8, which are considered highly valid; (2) The percentage of student responses in the small-class trials was 97% and the large-class trials was 88%, which are considered highly practical. Therefore, the Mathematics Student Worksheet (LKPD) on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) Integrated with Islamic Values ​​is valid and practical.
